Nestled in a prime spot, the Tavistock Hotel garners praise for its central location and the variety of breakfast options, contributing to its perceived good value. While the rooms receive recognition for their cleanliness, guests have called out their small size and outdated nature, with some lacking air conditioning.
Despite the comfortable Art Deco ambiance, the noise level due to poor window insulation has been a concern for many. However, the hotel's attentive service and professional staff, particularly during breakfast, consistently earn rave reviews from travelers.

Very much enjoyed my stay at the Tavistock. The single room I booked had everything I need - nice modern shower, a kettle and tea, smart TV - and the hotel's location offers very easy access to the city and international railway station. It had completely slipped my mind that I wouldn't be able to use devices with European plugs but luckily the staff kindly provided an adaptor and there was a USB charging port in the room too. I didn't book the breakfast but instead enjoyed the (veggie & vegan) offerings of several nearby cafes including Seed Cafe, Ta'mini and Sandwich Street Kitchen.

I chose this hotel as i needed one within a walking distance from the St. Pancras and full breakfast. Its a bit of a walk with luggage (12 min) but even at night (11pm), it seemed very safe (very busy streets with tourists NOT shady people (compared to Rome or Paris). The hotel is indeed on the older side (bath and furniture) and in need of renovation (it would be great if they could remove all the carpets too), however, it was pretty clean, so it's all that mattered. But the size of the room is very good (it has a little hallway). Mattress and pillows were very comfy. Kettle and hair dryer in the room. There is no a/c, we knew about it and it was not a big deal for 1 night, as we opened the window. I'm not sure if I could stay there longer in summer. But any other time of the year, it's definitely a good choice. The sink was weird - it had hot and cold faucets separately. Also the shower curtain installed too close to a tub and it touches you while you taking a shower, which is unpleasant because I'm sure they don't clean it after each guest. (moving a curtain pole would solve that issue). Breakfast buffet was one of the best compared to other hotels we stayed in London. Lots of choices, hot and delicious, different types of hot eggs, beans, sausage, ham. All kinds of bread, fruits, cold cuts, etc. Large area of breakfast and the servers constantly clean tables and take dirty dishes away or add plates, drinks. They had water coolers on each floor, so you can refill your water bottles. Overall its a nice hotel with nice employees. They also kept our luggage free of charge after the check out (they have a special secured room). And they have a restaurant. By the way, don't rely on Uber from this place to Kings Cross, we almost missed our train because 4!!! drivers picked the ride and then cancelled (I guess too cheap for them to bother)

We have stayed at the Tavistock Hotel many times over the past 10years and have never been disappointed but this time was different. On arrival, the receptionist was not the friendliest we have ever met and she seemed a little impatient. We are an older couple and not big on technology, plus we found her accent difficult to understand. The cost of the room had increased a lot apparently due to some tax to do with cleaning. On arrival to our room, we were disappointed to find it quite small. There was little room to get past the end of the bed and the desk, there was no wardrobe, just a space in the wall with a rail, no shelves. The shower was over the bath, a bit difficult to access when you are getting on a bit and have dodgy knees. There was only one bah towel each plus only one hand towel to share (however, the following day we were provided with another bath towel each). The tv was placed on the far right of the wall - not convenient to watch from the bed which was in the middle of the room! On the plus side, the room was clean, quiet and warm once we had switched on the radiator. There was plenty of hot water, tea and coffee. The cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. Standards have obviously lowered since our last visit a year ago. This room cost almost £400 for a two night stay, not worth it in my opinion and I doubt very much whether we shall stay here again.

I found out about this hotel when I was looking for one, thinking it would be easy to get from the airport and close to the British Museum, as it was my first time travelling alone in London. Although it is not a new hotel, many of the reviews were good, and the price range was enough to allow in London, where hotel prices are rising, so we first booked with a no-cancellation plan and considered other hotels. Eventually, I couldn't find any other good place, so I found a cheap plan on the hotel's official website that I couldn't cancel, but booked. Breakfast was included, which was also an English breakfast, so thinking about it, we stayed quite cheaply. I booked it as a single, but it was a comfortable week because I was assigned to a double room at check-in, probably because I had become a member. The room is large enough for one person and comfortable enough for two people. Unfortunately, it was a shower room without a bathtub and the shower was not movable. It's been a long time since I've had an immobile shower. The room was equipped with an electric kettle, coffee and tea (instant, of course), and we replenished what we used. I was also grateful that there was a drinking water vendor in the hallway, so I could drink freely. The bed had a slightly soft-eyed mattress, but I slept comfortably and without back pain. The hotel has an Indian restaurant and there are many shops in the vicinity so you won't have to worry about eating. I could have walked a little bit to the subway station and there was a supermarket, so I could have bought something and made it light. When staying at this hotel, we recommend you check the official website for plans first.

Stayed for the first time at Tavistock Hotel and we had a fantastic experience. Shazmin who checked us in at reception and her colleagues who dealt with bags and enquiries at the door were all very helpful and friendly. We didn’t use the restaurant but there were plenty of local places to eat within walking distance. The hotel is a great location for exploring London on foot to the theatre district, Camden and many more tourist spots. It is very close to Euston and King’s Cross St Pancras train stations which was perfect for us travelling from Scotland. Although the room decor seemed a bit dated the rooms were quiet, with baths and king sized beds that were extremely comfortable, ideal after wandering through the city all day. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to London and would give the staff five stars for their great customer service - even when it got very busy they still kept smiling! 😊

Very old hôtel. Art nouveau but not touched up since. The water and heating pipes are visible in the room. The wallpaper is peeling off. The sink tap is very small and has no pressure. We therefore put water everywhere. The view over the courtyard is very ugly. Above all, in these hot weather conditions, there is no air conditioning in the rooms and no fridge. All we have is a small, cheap fan and I had to ask for a second one. I also asked for the windows to be unlocked. Hotel certainly not worth nearly 200 euros a night. Staff and location are good.

Dear Gonzaguew, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re glad to hear that you were pleased with the location and the staff. However, we’re truly sorry that the condition of the room did not meet your expectations. We understand how important comfort and amenities are, especially during hot weather, and we apologize for the lack of air conditioning and fridge in the room. Unfortunately we do not have AC and nor do we advertise that we do either, we do provide a fan for each room, to try and assist with managing those hot days. We can put the fridge in the room on gust request. We are also aware that some areas of the hotel could use updates, and we are actively working on improvements. We sincerely appreciate your honest feedback, and we hope you’ll give us another chance to provide you with a better experience in the future on your next journey in London. Best regards, Bogdan

We spent 2 nights here and had a lovely stay in this relaxing spotlessly clean hotel. The double room we had was large and airy with a lovely bay window. Comfortable bed and the bedding and towels are top quality, there is a hair dryer and fan and you can ask for anything eg. iron, items you may have forgotten, flannels etc. We opted for a shower room which was ideal and supplied with soap/body wash/shampoo dispensers. The only niggle was there was no chest of drawers or full length mirror but this did not distract from the lovely stay we had. Breakfast was plentiful and very enjoyable in a lovely setting. Good choice of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals etc., hot breakfast buffet as well as a small continental selection, everything was fresh and plentiful to set you up for a day in London. Overall the hotel is spotlessly clean and excellent value for money. The staff are very friendly and professional I fully recommend a stay here. The Tavistock is a beautiful, stylish hotel, ideal for a couple of nights stay in the City.

We arrive on a Friday around 11:30 a.m. (before check-in time but it is possible to keep the luggage on site before having the room 👌🏼) We are "welcomed" by an unpleasant blonde lady who takes care of two families at home. time who didn't at all want to find a solution and take time to solve our little reservation problem (👎). We hear her say to the other family who tries to be nice to her ("It's not funny"). The reception on the right invites us to come near them and we are welcomed by “Pedro”, who listens to our request. In fact I am 7 and a half months pregnant and when booking on Roomdi, there was no possibility of choosing a double or separate bed. Pedro was very kind, we discussed his paternity and his experience, his nationality .. like we had always known him! He made us feel unique for this little city trip and gave us good advice! The room (double bed 👌🏼) overlooking the park is very pretty, comfortable and functional, plus we were able to have it straight away. The hotel has a very good location (between Russell and Euston station) great for a pregnant woman. The street right next to the hotel is an alley of good little Asian restaurants and a supermarket! The hotel is very nicely decorated and there is a water fountain available upstairs! A superb breakfast to start a great day in London! We regret not having been able to eat at the hotel restaurant because we really wanted to eat a good Chicken Butter but we hadn't noticed that the restaurant is closed on Sundays. Thank you again thank you Pedro!!

Brilliant location for arriving and departing from Euston, and then for travelling around London and on main bus routes and a few minutes walk to a number of tubes. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Comfortable and clean room which was a great price compared to others I looked at locally. Tea/coffee supplies replaced daily along with bed making and fresh towels even though not requested. Quality toiletries provided, and a hairdryer which is always a plus for me. Only single downside was how warm the room was, especially on entry, but provided with a fan that I kept running the whole time I was in the room which make it manageable although still a bit warm for me. Will definitely book here again for future London trips and certainly recommend. Very enjoyable stay.

I've stayed quite a few times at the Tavistock over the past 15 years. It's in a great location and is good value for money (90£ for a room with breakfast in August is excellent value). The hotel does look outdated from the outside and the decor is a little bit tired but it's very clean. This time I had a huge bed and it wasn't the easiest to move around but I mostly used the room to sleep and the bed was really comfy. Breakfast is very good, the scrambled eggs were a bit dry but there's lots of choice and everything else was lovely. Staff were all professional, friendly and very helpful. You can't beat the Tavistock on price for this location and I'll stay again.
