The London Marriott Hotel County Hall is celebrated for its inviting ambiance and central location, with easy access to London's landmarks. Guests commend the spacious rooms and exceptional cleanliness, appreciating the meticulous attention to detail. The hotel's amenities, including the luxurious M Club, consistently receive high marks. However, opinions on value are mixed; some travelers find the pricing steep relative to their experiences. While service is generally seen as professional and caring, there have been sporadic mentions of minor service delays.

Stayed three nights with family (kids aged 12 and 15). First time staying at this hotel and very pleased with everything. We got upgraded to a Thames View Room which was wonderful as directly across from Big Ben and HoP. I was a little dubious about the location before arriving as we normally stay in Kensington or Mayfair, but all concerns were quickly quashed on first night as the entertainment, atmosphere and food choices (restaurants and food trucks) along the South Bank were excellent, especially on a summers evening. Size and cleanliness of hotel room was excellent, just be prepared to do without housekeeping if staying three nights or less, and some areas of the hotel were closed like the swimming pool and library bar. However, the hotel staff were clear about this upfront and it didn’t affect our family trip. The bar was open all day, and breakfast in restaurant was outstanding considering the limitations on the hospitality industry. No buffet service at breakfast because of the limitations but menu choice was plentiful and food was excellent. Staff very attentive also. We visited Churchill War Rooms, Shard Viewing Gallery and Sky Garden in Walkie talkie building during our trip so hotel location was perfect for walking to all, and you also have option to take Uber boat taxi to all of the piers on the Thames. London itself was the quietest I’ve ever experienced because of the pandemic situation, and I was shocked at how many restaurants were closed in the west end due to the theatre closures. Nevertheless, the choices on the South Bank made up for this as most facilities were open. I also enjoyed the fact that the tubes, buses and shops were also quiet...a nice refreshing change, especially in the summer heat. Other surprise was the quietness whilst in the hotel, I would have expected some outside noise from the major tourist attractions outside of hotel like the London Eye, Dungeons and Sea Life Centre but nothing at all. Great ambience and slept very well all three nights in very comfortable beds. All in all, a great and very grand hotel with a lot to offer all types from families, couples and business visitors. I hope to be back again later in the year or next spring/summer. Good job to all staff at County Hall under very difficult conditions. Thanks

Stayed for a 5 night break. Hotel is partially open with some services closed (M Lounge and bar) but that didn’t detract from a great stay. The hotel was spotless as was our exec room. Room service is only every 3 days to minimise contacts, but staff were happy to provide extra towels, ice, toiletries on request as very speedily too. Gym is fully open and is great. Pool needs to be booked which we did easily by popping to the leisure reception on the 5th floor in the mornings to secure a time slot in the afternoon. The restaurant is great for breakfast - either 1 hot selection or 2 cold. The one pan breakfast got me into trouble as I struggled with the lunch we had booked out as it was so filling - loved it. Staff were super helpful and efficient. A great stay at a great location.

We have just returned from a one night stay at this hotel.

Upon check in were greeted by Raquel who offered us some prosecco or fizzy apple. She checked us in with a very friendly manner and talked us through the hotel as well as walked us to the lift.

We had a Thames view room, which was huge and lovely. The room had a big tiled vestibule area as well as a decent size bathroom. The room was well decorated and had everything you needed including robes, slippers, coffee maker, tea, safe, hairdryer etc. I think the only room for improvements would be 1. If the plug sockets could have USB ports and 2. If amongst the tea and coffee option some hit chocolate sachets could be included. My daughter wanted some hot chocolate before bed but the only option available to us within the hotel was from room service at a whopping £10 for the cup 😢 (we got dressed and walked round the the Starbucks behind the hotel in the end!).

We tried the pool on Saturday evening and had it to ourselves. The leisure club is on the 5th floor and the pool on the 6th. Women change on 5th and then follow signs through a locked door (you get a code) to find your way to the pool! The pool is pretty big for just two people and was comfortably warm also. Don’t forget the code when you leave the pool as you need it on the way back to the changing room! Swim times for children are limited but were still quite generous.

We ate breakfast in the Lounge as I am a platinum bonvoy member. I believe the lounge is fairly recently redecorated. There was a good selection including fruit, meat and cheese, breads and pastries. The only inclusion I would have asked for was more selection for the hot food. There was bacon, Spanish omelette style eggs and hash browns. I would have liked some sausages and tomatoes 😄.

During one of trips in and out of the hotel we encountered another employee (I didn’t take his name) who was very friendly to my daughter. I would recommend this hotel for friendliness to children. She is a very curious and chatty little girl and the friendly staff really made her feel welcome!

Our family just spent a night at this lovely hotel. We were choosing to still social distance as much as possible and the staff accommodated this with amazing precision. Help was offered to ensure parking was available in front of the hotel, staff were very courteous and polite whilst remaining distant and all wearing masks. Front door staff were so helpful and polite, the reception staff were very efficient and seemed happy to have guests returning. While we waited for our room we were all offered a drink and seating in the beautiful bar overlooking the Thames. We were made to feel very special as titanium members and were offered a great upgrade as we used our suite night reward for a confirmed river Thames suite. We were actually upgraded to the presidential suite which was a lovely surprise. The room was amazing, with a great view of the Thames, a kitchen area, large living area and a large bedroom with en-suite and walk in wardrobe. The room was extremely clean and tidy and sanitizer wipes were available for personal use. Room service was sent in a timely manner and everything was sent in bags with disposable yet eco (recyclable) boxes. We had an excellent stay, thank you to all the lovely staff who are going above and beyond to ensure safety in the hotel.

I checked in to the hotel, and was escorted to our suite. All seemed fine, until I needed to contact reception. The phone in the suite (one one, I think - not two as advertised) wasn't working, and I had to call reception on my mobile phone! I'm afraid that I lost my temper, but all was sorted out within a short space of time. Two visiting therapists (for medical related treatments) were treated as honoured visitors. My companion arrived whilst the first treatment was in progress, and was received most efficiently at reception, being given her key card without fuss. From then onwards, we were both treated probably better than royalty! I have a slight disability, and any special requests (such as an extra safety mat in the shower) were dealt with graciously and efficiently. The suite was perfection - plenty of floor space, wardrobe space, and a lovely balcony with table and chairs overlooking the Thames. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable, and we both slept well. The executive lounge was closed, but we were treated to a drink and bar snack each evening free of charge. The in-room safe (or rather, safe box) was the best that I have ever encountered. Unlike the previous reviewer, we asked for the room to be serviced daily. This was gladly and efficiently done. Copious quantities of towels and face cloths were provided, and replenished as required. We were both delighted with every aspect of the hotel, and I have booked another stay already! All the staff were most attentive, and I have nothing but praise for them. I am writing a separate review for Gillray's,where we enjoyed breakfast and dinner. We are looking forward to returning later in the year.

I appreciate that hotels are having a tough time in COVID but if you are going to open there is a minimum level of facilities you need to provide. Checked in today to have a night in london watching movies and having room service at my sons request. A well done for good exam results. Nice room (but really hot) and lovely check in staff, staff generally really nice.
Despite advertising premium movie channels no such thing exists at the moment (apparently all cancelled for COVID). There is a whizzy facility to pair your apple device to the TV but it wont play any premium NEtflix, Disney or amazon prime service. Even paid £5 to rent an iTunes movie only to be told that even though its been downloaded the TV wont play it back. The only other viewing options are standard UK TV channels.
Ordered room service - very limited menu and passable food (ribs were good but pizza very average). Was really looking forward to a nice chilled glass of wine. Forget it only two very average wines on the menu. Delivered with requested ice (to make it palatable) but the rooms have no glasses - back the poor man has to go. There are two of us staying but no table or chairs that allow us to eat.
Can’t say how disappointing this is. Well done to the staff for trying but none of the reduction in service or facilities are advertised on their website and thats really poor

Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly doorman, check-in was smooth and the free glass of bubbly was a nice touch. The hotel has the feel of a traditional Victorian hall with wood panel and high ceilings, the communal areas were well kept and decorated.

We stayed in a Balcony Suite room which had an amazing view from the balcony of the London Eye (you're literally right beside it), Westminster and Big Ben. Sitting out on the balcony certainly feels very special.

Negatives?

Bizarrely the Fitness center and swimming pool on different floors, so you have to go to the fifth floor to get the door code for the pool then go back up to sixth to get in.

The suite room has no mini bar, no bath, feels a bit dark with only one window and the metal balcony seats uncomfortable to sit on (cushions anyone?).

The hotel bars close too early, especially at weekend (we came back at around 10:30 to find the Library closed and the other bar packing up.

Lastly, and this is pretty annoying, there's only one entrance on the west side of the building, you can’t easily access from the river bank (especially at night) or from the south side of the building at all (coming from Waterloo).

Our first stop of many on our 40th anniversary starting in London. As has been my experience with Marriott, I received a room upgrade due to my platinum status overlooking the Thames and with great views of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Close proximity to the London Eye. The room was comfortable, generous size shower with body wash, soap and conditioner, dinner was served in Gillrays ($$$), breakfast, included as a platinum member, in the library, location of the hotel is with walking distance of most well known attractions. Day 2 was a spectacular head, neck and back massage, followed by a swim in the 25 meter long indoor pool (28 centigrade), evening meal was in the Club, serving Canapés and a selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, missed the second breakfast due to an early flight. Overall, although the hotel is older, it gives a feeling warmth and style, the front desk and staff were wonderful and the hotel has many amenities. This was a wonderful stay and would go back again.

Having stayed in London at the Westminster bridge many times id often looked through the courtyard entrance and thought I wish I was staying there !

So myself, husband and son headed there for a one night stay for our wedding anniversary last week. The communication with the hotel before arrival was good, they upgraded our room to a better view of the river before we arrived and it is all very easy and online to do, in fact you can even check in on line and not approach reception at all.

We arrived 2 hours early to a nearly full car park outside. Parking here is £55 but they happily reduce that by 50% if you have a blue badge. The door man was incredibly friendly and helpful and made a brilliant first impression to the hotel.

Although early we could check in! The room was good, but I did notice we were lacking a sofa that is advertised with the room, the ceiling had what looked like tea splash marks and the bathroom worst of all had multiple black mould spots around the edges and on the tub. This ruined my relaxing soak I planned after a day of site seeing for sure !

I let reception know how disappointed I was about that and to their credit the manager called me offering me a swap of rooms ( wasn’t possible due to son and the other room not having a bed for him) or 25% off the room. We took the discount and I can confirm they refunded the difference by the time I write this .

The manager did comment he had never heard such a thing before in a 5 star hotel like this but I have photos and told him he was welcome to see.

Food here was the biggest let down. We had room service as that’s the easy option with a child. We had one pizza, one triple cooked chips, one small salad and one burger ( just a burger ) £65… served in boxes and the standard was DISMAL. In fact to be a 5 star hotel in London and that’s the best you can do … embarrassing for them. The manager reduced the bill by 50%.

We had a good sleep, no noise issues and decided to go for breakfast downstairs so not to risk the substandard room service food. Big mistake!

It took 5 minutes to be seated which was fine, however nobody took our order for over 20 minutes until I asked someone too. Another 20 minutes wait for the food ( 2 omelettes and pancakes ) they brought cold pancakes and a omelette with bacon in when my vegetarian husband ordered cheese and tomato .

Cue more waiting, none of us ate together, and the experience was stressful and annoying.

The hotel was clean. The location is excellent, the staff were friendly and professional at all times.

You can see they wanted to do well, but sub standard food, service and the bathroom is not acceptable for a 5 star london hotel

Recently visited London for a girls trip vacation and stayed at the London Marriott County Hall Hotel. The location is great; we could see the London Eye from our room window and when we were out and about whenever we saw the Eye we knew weren't far from our home away from home. The staff was wonderful...very courteous and kind. Graham was especially helpful and most kind in offering advice, when asked, for places to see and restaurants to go to eat. He and his "team" made it so convenient for us in pre-arranging a black cab to literally pick us up from the front door of the hotel which allowed us to enjoy a worry- free holiday. Highly recommend this hotel!
