At DoubleTree by Hilton, we know that the little things mean everything. These days, travel can be hard. At DoubleTree by Hilton we understand that, and every little thing we do adds up to creating a rewarding experience for our guests. This is evidenced through the signature warm chocolate chip cookies guests receive upon arrival, the advantages of the award-winning Hilton HHonors(R) guest reward program and our industry-recognized Culture of CARE that's been part of our DNA since 1985.

We used the hotel as a base for a short break in London in September 2021 with our dog (hotel is dog friendly with an extra charge). The hotel itself is good - modern entrance, lobby, and bar, and renovated older rooms in the section we stayed in. The location is fantastic, a short walk from the Tower of London and the Thames. What made this stay really special is how we were welcomed by the staff in the bar area in the evening with our dog. They came to see if he needed any water and happily provided refills during the couple of hours we spent there. An unexpected bonus for a hotel of this kind (city hotel).

Hotel's Favourite
We were early upon check in where we waited for our room to be ready which we didn't mind as again we were early. Once our room was ready we were asked why we were visiting. We we're honest and I mentioned I was here for some treatment at a near by hospital. We we're asked if it was ok to wait for a short time in the Executive Lounge and a staff member would shortly come over and inform us when our room was ready. We had no issue with this as again we were still early for check in and having worked in the hotel trade I know how hard all staff work. After a short time in the Executive Lounge a manager came to us with our room key and informed us we were given a free upgrade from an Executive Room to an A King Atrium Suite. We also got some lovely huge cookies which went down very well and free Breakfast upgrade as well. Honestly if you can get one of these rooms it's well worth it. Lovely living area and seating dinner table and chairs. We had a bath and a shower and a view over looking the hotel lobby area. The room was huge we had room 325 and I would recommend this room if you can get it. All staff we have encountered are friendly professional and make you feel very welcome. All rooms are clean and fully Covid safe. The breakfast had alot of choice and kept us going which made for a great start. The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone wanting to visit Tower Bridge. Should we need to travel this way again we would use this hotel again. Had a great stay made better by the hard working staff.

Looks nice and shiny but very functional and lacks any kind of character. Check in was very robotic, no pleasantries or welcome. The lady who checked me in rattled off a checklist of services that were and weren't available with no warmth whatsoever. Room was fine, clean, good enough size and bed very comfy. The front of the hotel was littered with cigarette butts and packets. Good night's sleep and decent location for The City but probably wouldn't stay here again, all felt a bit soulless.

Spent 1 night at this hotel and that was more than enough! Arrived at check in and met with the most apathetic and disinterested receptionist who didn't look up from the ubiquitous computer screen. She looked at me like a had landed from mars when i attempted to engage her in conversation. She rattled off instructions about the bar. food and the lift most of which I didn't catch and slammed the "welcome" cookies on the desk. The room was beige. soulless and shabby but clean, Check out was equally perfunctory and no pleasantries were exchanged. The fundamentals of hospitality are seriously lacking at this Hilton and we will not be returning. No doubt the manager will offer the standard apology but he should focus his time on impressing on his front of house staff the vital importance of first impressions and offering some sort of welcome at the very least. We have previously stayed at the Novotel directly opposite this Hilton where the whole atmosphere is welcoming and customer focussed.

First business trip for a long time and booked an Executive room at this hotel for 1 night. Check-in was a slow process due to just 2 receptionist. Executive lounge was woeful. Just tea/coffee and water being offered throughout the day. No snacks other than during 'happy hour'. Chose an executive room to avoid rush at breakfast. Sadly, breakfast wasn't being served in the lounge at all. In summary, not much point paying extra for an executive room at all as the rooms themselves are nothing special. Check-out was worse than check-in with a long queue. Opted for express check-out. No bill emailed to me. Chased the hotel 3 times but have still not received it. DoubleTree - time to up your game.
