The Tower Hotel enjoys a prime location with stunning views that guests frequently applaud, though many suggest the rooms could benefit from an update, citing issues like ineffective heating and outdated decor. While the hotel's cleanliness generally receives positive marks, there are occasional lapses in housekeeping service. Opinions on value are mixed; some travelers find the pricing reasonable, while others feel it doesn't match the quality provided. Amenities, particularly dining options and attentive staff, are often praised, but the atmosphere is noted as outdated and in need of renovation. Noise levels can be problematic, and while the service is typically commended for staff friendliness and professionalism, there are some reports of delays and disorganization.

Starting with the positive side, the hotel is located in a perfect location. It’s right in front of Tower Bridge giving it a spectacular location but also as tourists, we felt extremely safe in the specific area. Supermarket, café and metro all within a fair distance. It’s perfect for those wishing a good and quiet spot. The breakfast hadn’t anything special but it was good and generally most people would be satisfied. Lastly, staff was very friendly and helpful; receptionists, breakfast staff, cleaning staff (housekeeping knocked our door many many times to check if we are good in cleaning cuz we told them we wouldn’t need any in the morning)

Now on the negatives, even though the hotel is generally in good condition, it’s still an old hotel. Definitely London has much more modern hotels you could choose from for a similar fare. Furthermore and what frustrated me the most was the third bed in the room. The hotel itself does not have triple rooms so instead, housekeeping sets up a folded bed for the third guest in the room. This bed is for sure nothing to brag about. It’s the worse bed experience I have experienced. I can say I am generally short (5’7) and thin but the bed was still SMALL. Imagine how short a bed has to be not to be enough for a guy like me. And it’s not even the bare minimum, it’s just SMALL. The type of small where you must be careful when sleeping because you might fall down. It’s extremely narrow and short. I don’t want to imagine how bad it must be for taller and larger people. However, the other 2 beds were pretty fine so just keep that in mind if you have booked a room for 3 people.

Have just returned from a two night break at The Tower Hotel.
We had booked an Executive Double room with a view of Tower Bridge - we weren't disappointed. The view was spectacular!

All the staff were friendly and the public areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean although there was a strong artificial scent that was quite potent. Breakfast was basic English but acceptable.

I would have given a higher rating however must mention:

1) our room was cold and it was impossible to increase the air temperature to above 20 degrees. There was a very small 'plug in' electric radiator in the room, but it made little difference.

2) there were NO complimentary toiletries - just the standard soap & shampoo dispensers.
The complimentary mineral water was one small bottle of still water for us to share on our arrival!

This may seem petty but we spent well over £700 for this special stay in an Executive Room and to not get what you paid for is galling.

The location is great for anything you want to do in London. Five minutes on foot and you're on the Metro at Tower Hill, ten at London Bridge where trains to Gatwick also arrive and depart. In the area you can eat to suit all tastes, pay attention to prices, London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Our room, on the 6th floor, was comfortable, clean, with a view of the marina. Very comfortable bed, just a little high off the ground, linen changed daily. Two small possible improvements: in the bathroom add a toilet brush, memorize a TV channel in Italian. Breakfast: excellent and plentiful in both the savory and sweet parts, hot and cold drinks always available. Small problem: the hotel has a few hundred rooms spread over 12 floors, having a bit of a queue for breakfast and for the lifts, which are four and fast, is normal, organizing yourself as widely reported at the reception, however, you avoid the rush hour and everything is resolved. My next stay in London will see me in this hotel again.

This was the worst stay I ever had in a hotel. I wrote to the hotel outlining my concerns and what was poor service before writing this review and the hotel decided to ignore my email and not bother to respond, hence I am now writing this review. Every day we had to chase housekeeping staff to clean the room, empty the overflowing bin and provide toilet paper Actually I rang reception for the toilet paper, 2 hours later still no toilet paper, I had to go to reception to get it ! Not good enough. The room was 25 degrees the day we arrived, the controls did not work, I notified reception and they said they could not set it at a lower temp. so they just turned it off, nobody followed up to see were we ok with this. We had Christmas Lunch in the Restaurant on Christmas day, very expensive, safe to say 3 times the normal price and the main course was cold when served ! I could go on with the litany of other complaints but I wont !
I would never recommend this hotel to stay in unfortunately. I have travelled the whole world and never experienced such poor service.

We booked a klm deal from Amsterdam 2 London incl hotel for 2 nights. I was really scared reading some reviews beforehand. The hotel is huugee, with more than 800 rooms which obviously dont all have a great view. We had emailed beforehand to ask for a room with a view and were offered this upgrade upon arrival for 100 pounds for 2 nights. We took it and personally, I think it was well worth it.

We stayed on the 8th floor, room 857, and our room was in order and clean. We had cleaners who asked everyday if we wanted the room cleaned (if you decline, you get a 7 pound voucher to spend in the hotel). Montserat (I hope I am spelling this right) gave us a warm welcome and checked in with us after to know if our stay and room was ok. All the staff we encounterd were lovely and helpfull, with the exception of a maintenance person who seemed to be having an off day. We loved the room, the view and the location was just amazing. Worth the upgrade.

Would have liked outlets by the bedside, but we survived without. Everything else in the room worked and was clean.

With so many rooms, I think it really makes a huge difference where and what sort of room you get. There is a different price range for a reason. We enjoyed our stay.

i was going to say something like - 1 star would not recommend. firstly the booking process was awful. booked through booking.com who said we could pay on arrival to then receive endless emails being harassed that if i don’t pay now before arrival that my booking will be cancelled, when i specifically selected pay on arrival as i am a student and wanted to wait for my loan to come through. secondly i booked it as a gift for my parents so i informed the hotel before arrival that me, the card holder, would not be there on arrival. For there to be problems when my parents arrive with checking in as I wasn’t there with the card that was booked even though the person I spoke to on the phone specifically told me this would be fine and said she had made a note on the booking. Thirdly I booked this hotel so they could have a room with a view of the bridge, nowhere stated that they wouldn’t get a room without a view / no options to select a room with this view to find out that they get a room at the very back so they didn’t even get a room with a view of the bridge!! As I was the card holder and was not there, they requested to take a £50 holding deposit which would be refunded if the room was fine. Understandabke, however they took £160 out of my dad’s account and every-time he went to reception to query why they did this someone different was on shift and had no idea what they were talking about. Also my dad is stop yet to be refunded this £160 as far as I am aware despite already arriving home from the trip. The excuse was ‘a mistake.’ it Really disappointed.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had an excellent experience. The location is incredibly convenient, as it’s close to popular attractions and offers easy access to public transportation. Additionally, there are plenty of dining options nearby, making it perfect for travelers who enjoy exploring local cuisine.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. They were always ready to assist with recommendations, directions, and any questions I had, which made my stay even more enjoyable.

One feature I truly appreciated was their Green Saver program. For stays longer than one night, guests can opt out of daily housekeeping services, which is a thoughtful initiative for environmentally conscious travelers.

With its great location, welcoming staff, and eco-friendly options, this hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting the area. I would definitely stay here again!

The only big plus for this hotel is its location to just about everything in London whether by train, bus or underground. The hotel itself was ok, staff in the lobby area very helpful. Cleaning and house keeping staff were very “grumpy & unhelpful”. The room was not the best for the price we paid, there were lots of faults but the view of Tower Bridge was spectacular. The fire alarm sounded at 8.30am one morning and not one staff member notified people in their rooms. There was no PA announcement, no nothing. Bad, bad, bad. The only night we ate at the hotel restaurant, we were questioned severely by the restaurant manager as to why we did not want to pay the optional exorbitant 13.5% service fee dedicated to the staff. After paying $400 per night for our menial room (4 nights) I felt that if management can’t pay their staff properly without having to charge each table bill a service fee of a whopping 13.5% then there is a big problem somewhere. I support tips where it is deserved but not for an establishment that sees only greed. I will not stay at the Tower again for obvious reasons. I will not recommend this hotel.

Good clean hotel well located near the metro in front of the tower bridge and very close to the Tower of London. although the number of rooms is large we always had room at lunch but in different locations. the staff is welcoming and the service offered is of quality. 3 bottles of water are offered but no fridge in the room a safe and by account included in the price. The breakfast was good without more but the offer was varied. a T'escorta express is located at 2/min. the point to be reviewed concerns the sanitary facilities not easy to use (shower) and very slow toilet flushing. but the value for money is interesting for the comfort offered

I have stayed at this hotel many times before and never experienced a stay like this. In terms of location, there are very few hotels that can beat the views and surrounding character.

On this occasion we selected a standard double room. Bearing in mind this is a 4 star establishment, we assumed a modest room but didn’t mind as we didn’t plan to be in it apart to sleep.

What we received fell way short of modest!! Located on the 4th floor (451) on arrival we were greeted with a very hot and stuffy room. This was because the central heating/AC was disconnected and in its place an ugly temporary heater. Because the heating was off there was no climate control meaning we either had it on or off, on it was Sahara, off it was the North Pole!!!

On arrival our door was open. Clearly an issue with the door meaning it didn’t self close. The security bolt on the inside was also broken so no way to secure the door.

In the bathroom the ‘power’ shower was lukewarm warm at best when set to max. The bath has no floor mat so dangerous when getting in and out. The make up mirror in the bathroom had no mirror!

When we went out on the Saturday we put our light on for a room clean. When we arrived back - guess what - nothing! I then sat up for an hour waiting for toilet roll, towels and clean cups to be sent up. Our friends in my second room had their bed made but no new towels, toilet paper or cups etc. Not their fault but awoken by a fire alarm just before 9am. Not a member of staff insight but got half way down the emergency stairs before the alarm went off.

We chose this hotel. A 4 star for a restful trip away. What we received fell WAY short. Clearly put in a part of the hotel long overdue for tlc, especially if charging customers good money for below standard product.
