Ideally situated between the Edgeware Road and Bayswater area for shopping, bars and restaurants and only a couple of stops on the bus from Oxford Street and the busy West End, the Commodore Hotel is in an ideal location for a London visit. Opposite Hyde Park and set in a street behind the main road, it is actually quiet enough, which is unusual for the city, but very welcome.
Our room was spacious, warm with a modern bathroom and a bed so comfortable, it was hard to get out of it each morning.
Staff were excellent. Quick check in, very friendly from reception to the cleaners who always greeted us with a smile, which was really nice.
We were upgraded to a suite which was a bonus and appreciated.
Thank you to Jennifer and all her team, would stay here again

We booked this hotel for a last minute trip to London via a Groupon deal and were not disappointed. The hotel was well maintained and clean and the staff were warm and welcoming. Breakfast was continental delivered to your room due to current covid restrictions so was just cereal, pastries, tea, coffee, juice but was ample for what we wanted and for what we paid. It was just a short 5 min walk from Lancaster Gate tube situated down a quiet street. Should we visit London again we will definitely look at using this hotel again.

We were very comfortable during our stay. When we arrived to drop off our bags although it was too early to check in, the staff allowed us to check in early with no additional fee, as the room was ready. And later in the day when we asked how much it would be to move to a larger room, the staff allowed us to move to another room in the same pice range for no additional fee. Also, when we decided to extend our stay, the staff was very accommodating to our changing schedule.

The hotel's location is very convenient for getting around town. Everything was very clean, and all the staff we encountered were more than helpful. Thank you!

First the good stuff. This hotel is well located. You are within easy walking distance of several of the tube lines and great bus service to many of the sites. The rooms are clean and have been recently redone resulting in nice finishes and a modern aesthetic. It was also one of the only hotels we could find in central London that offered enough sleeping space for two adults and one teenager without forcing someone to sleep on a pull out couch.

However, we found several areas that made our stay somewhat frustrating at the Commodore. First, the Commodore is not a four star hotel as indicated on all major websites. It lacks the amenities that would make it so. The rooms are small, we knew that going in but, the small size of the rooms is further complicated by the layout and the utter lack of surfaces available. The larger bed was located so close to the radiator that I burned myself several times trying to get in and out of bed in the dark. The bathroom does not have a single countertop or shelf available in it outside of the shower. A small investment in a few shelves and hooks throughout the room would make a significant difference in its usability. The lobby does not offer any real services. There's a box of tea bags that you may take back up to your room and several soft drinks for purchase but, there is no tea kettle, coffee or other amenities that would make it welcoming. There is a large television playing strange ads and ambient music. One suggestion would be to host a simple wine hour that would allow guests to mingle and make the lobby feel less sterile and more inviting. There was a large jug filled with sliced oranges that you could fill up a glass of water at as well but often was lukewarm and tasted stale. We were provided 3 16 oz bottles of water when we checked in but was told by the front desk those bottles would not be replenished at any point during our stay. This seems like a small investment that would make the rooms feel much more inviting and hospitable. Installing a drinking fountain with a water bottle filler would also make a difference. I wouldn't have minded refilling those water bottles if we could get filtered and cold water. Lastly, while there is a small fitness facility it does not operate on the room key. If you want to use the workout room you have to go to the front desk where they will escort you down and unlock the door every time you want to use it. This is a tremendous inconvenience.

All in all, there are several things to like about this hotel. However, on our next trip we will likely find another of the great options nearby which are closer to the underground stations and offer better amenities for the price.

Almost ruined trip. Please take photos of everything in your room before you enter because they will charge your credit card for incidentals and damage that you haven't done. They won't answer the phone, or emails, they just charge you. By the time it happens, you are out of town.

The price may seem tempting, but I would urge you to spend a little more money on a room, you will be disappointed in the dirty rooms, size, and the walls are thin, so you can hear even a soft conversation next door to you.

The owners must be hurting financially to go through this petty tactics of charging for "supposed" damaged furniture. Thankfully, we only had two nights here so it didn't ruin our London visit.

There was 7 of us in our party, 4 adults and 3 small children (all under 5). We had originally booked an apartment on the same street but on arrival realised it was unfortunately a scam. We walked along to the commodore to see if they could help us. The lady on the desk was amazing, so friendly and helpful (I think she was called Chrisendia). She showed us 3 different room styles around the hotel to see which one would best suit us and the children. Then got us booked in very quickly and easily after our difficulties with the previous accommodation. We got 2 rooms next door to each other that were right off the reception so very easy access with prams and cases etc. Rooms were decorated lovely and the bathrooms were modern. Just what we needed for our short trip. If we needed anything, reception were on hand to help.

Thanks again for saving our little weekend away!

We were the first guests to stay in the newly renovated Commodore. This meant that everything was fresh and clean, but there were a few teething problems - tv not yet affixed to wall, for example.
Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is delivered to your room in the morning and is continental style but very generous. Room was nicely decorated and with a great shower. Great location near to tube and just off Hyde Park. Great value, would definitely return.

Excellent place to stay in London. Very good location, close to public transport and the parks (Hyde, Kensington, Holland). I would really recommend it. The cleaning service was perfect, inside the room you have some samples of coffee, milk, tea and you also have a fridge.

Me and my partner absolutely loved this hotel as it suited us perfectly. We were one of the first people to stay in the hotel meaning everything was clean and neat. The staff were so kind and welcoming as soon as we arrived as they ensured we were happy. I stated in the booking that it was my partners birthday, and due to this they upgraded our room to a suite, free of charge as well as decorating the room with balloons and banners. The bed was extremely comfy and the room was spacious as well as a lovely rainfall shower. It is in an ideal location, with Lancaster Gate tube station less than a 5 minute walk away, and Hyde park on the doorstep.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable stay in London as we really enjoyed our stay and will be back soon!!

A hotel stay in London offers a captivating blend of historical allure and contemporary comfort. As you step into the lobby, you'll likely be greeted by elegant décor and a warm, professional staff. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, often featuring a combination of modern amenities and classic British touches. Depending on the hotel's location, you might enjoy stunning views of iconic landmarks like the London Eye or the River Thames.

London's diverse culinary scene is reflected in the hotel's dining options, which could range from traditional afternoon teas to innovative international cuisine. You might also find well-equipped fitness centers, luxurious spas, and possibly even rooftop bars that offer breathtaking panoramas of the city's skyline.

Your hotel's proximity to famous attractions like Buckingham Palace, the British Museum, and Covent Garden means you'll have easy access to London's cultural and entertainment offerings. After a day of exploration, returning to the comfort of your room, equipped with modern technology and plush bedding, provides a perfect way to unwind.

In essence, a hotel stay in London promises a harmonious fusion of British sophistication and contemporary convenience, making your visit to this vibrant city truly memorable

Hi Toni and Laura. I would not recomend this Hotel because Of the lousy service and the state Of this Hotel. Its outdated, dirty carpetfloors and bathrooms. We had booked a two room suite, but were changed the day before our wisit to two double rooms instead, and when we complained about the standard they had no other option to offer.... Try an other Hotel instead, I would never recomend this Hotel.
