Citadines Trafalgar Square London enjoys acclaim for its exceptional service, with many guests commending the friendly and efficient staff. Its prime location is a hit among travelers, who love being within easy reach of major attractions.
While the kitchen amenities in the rooms are appreciated for their convenience and potential cost savings, some guests suggest that the rooms and particularly the bathrooms could benefit from modernization to enhance overall value and appeal. The hotel's atmosphere is generally well-received, although a few travelers have mentioned that the decor feels dated.

Detailed Reviews
A fabulous central location in Westminster and walking distance to so many major attractions, as well as buses and trains. Staff were very friendly and able to answer any questions we had. We arrived rather early expecting to have our luggage stored and our room was ready for us so were able to get into our room when we arrived. A nice surprise was the chocolates and wine left for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary! We had a one bedroom apartment and while small, gave us enough room to spread out for the 10 days we were there. Having a full kitchen and washing machine in central London was also a great cost saving thing. The free coffee machine in the foyer was awesome! We hope we get the chance to stay here again when we finally make our way back to London. We were here for Christmas and New Year - even got to see the fireworks from just outside the hotel on midnight on NYE.

An easy location to jump on and off the Tube.
Our first time in London and we found it very easy to walk to a lot of attractions ie The London Eye, Buckingham Palace, etc. The tube is very close as well as several small convenience stores (The CO-OP store near the Trafalgar square tube entry was best).
Easy walk to Picadilly and we also walked to Soho and Tower Bridge one day.
The rooms are small but comfortable & clean and ours had a washer / dryer so very helpful when living out of a suitcase for a month.
While its definitely not a cheap place to stay, we would definitely stay here again.

I organised a family weekend in London for my wife's birthday. The main attraction was to be the London Eye. The location of Citadines, in this prestigious area right between Trafalgar Square and the river, proved perfect and great value. We were given two double rooms and a studio for the family of four, close together, and were all very happy with the apartments. Service at the front desk was very good, and we very much appreciated the complimentary hot drinks in the lounge. Walking across to the Eye and to Trafalgar Square, also catching a river boat from Embankment Pier, were all enjoyable and memorable experiences.

When our usual hotel in London had to close during the pandemic, we needed to find somewhere that would be pet friendly as well as offer parking and be comfortable.
We discovered this absolute gem of a hotel located near London's Trafalgar square,
where the staff are super friendly and helpful. Being an "apartment/hotel", the rooms are well designed and conveniently fitted with a compact kitchenette, which is really helpful when all the restaurants and eating places around are closed. All cutlery, pots & pans as well as fridge, cooking hob and dishwasher were provided. There was a laundry room on the floor. In the lobby, there's a lovely relaxing "den" area, where guests can watch T.V. or read books from the hotel library, while enjoying a complimentary coffee or tea from their machine. Really relaxed atmosphere - great to sit and chill after a busy day out.
Everyone at the hotel, guests as well as staff had a "happy vibe" despite us all being in the middle of a scary pandemic and we were especially touched at how sweet everyone was to our two little dogs, who were more than welcomed at the property. There were lovely parks just nearby to walk our dogs every day.
We were able to park our car in the hotel garage, which is located in the street behind, but needs to be accessed by car elevator to go to the basement. Our car, a Jaguar S-type just about fitted in the lift and we were really grateful for this option to park our vehicle in the heart of the city.
We felt very welcome at this new hotel and will definitely be back!

Booked 2 rooms for one night to attend a black tie dinner at the Royal Automobile Club. Location was excellent just 10 minute stroll from our event but it is so central everything is so near either by walking of by use of the underground. Trafalgar isn’t 2 minutes away, 10 minutes to the Houses of Parliament and 3 minutes to the Underground (Embankment) so location is fantastic.
The service, arrived and the reception staff were spot on, friendly and helpful.
You need your room key (swipe card) to access the hotel and lift).
The room was adequate. We had a studio each which comes with a basic compact bathroom, a reasonable sized bedroom and a kitchenette. The TV was fine, double glazed to keep the noise to a minimum (helpful as I was at the front of the hotel) but the gap at the bottom of the room door allowed plenty of light in even when trying to sleep.

Pros; the location is amazing, super easy access to many tube stations and options, very easy to get around from here
Having the kitchenette is also handy especially to avoid paying for breakfast
Cons; plumbing is noisy.
Pillows were very uncomfortable
Main issue for us was that we stayed 6 nights and didn’t have our room cleaned. They tried to come at 3pm on the last day we were there but it was way too late at that point. They may not have even tried to come then if I didn’t go ask for toilet paper etc the day before. The staff didn’t seem too bothered by the fact we didn’t have our room cleaned
They try to charge you £50 for early check in and £15 if you want your room cleaned more than they would normally do (it’s supposed to be once during 6 night stay)

This was an impromptu meet up between 4 uni friends, we booked this place as London was central for us all and we also wanted somewhere that was central for the city but we also wanted an apartment with 4 beds and a place we could catch up.
So we paid nearly £700 for 1 night, immediately after booking and asking a few questions we got links sent that were called ‘upselling’, £50 for this, £50 for that! WOW, I only asked a few simple questions and again was referred to the upselling links!
Upon arrival, we had to wait outside for nearly 5 mins, despite pressing the intercom (The staffed reception desk is in full view of thje entrance), we only got in when other guests walked out! What a welcome!!!
Check in was fine until I explained that I do not carry phot ID, 9 times she asked me for phot ID to the point I responded with “ I do not carry photographic ID and you have been unable to provide me with assurance about how you store such documentation”.
Eventually we were given our room key. We booked as we were told it had 3 separate rooms with a sofa bed, king bed and 2 singles, perfect for what we wanted. What we got was a room with a double bed, a room with a double bed but with 2 single duvets on it and a bed settee that would not pull out. A single toilet, the narrowest, dangerous twisting spiralling staircase that made you go dizzy.
The kitchen area was mostly sealed off with only open if you will use it, what on earth is that about other than saving on cleaning costs! the doors were the cheapest I have ever seen and looked like the had been repaired several times.
The bathroom with shower over bath was the narrowest ever, to the point the grubby shower curtains stuck to you as you were trying to get showered.
The towels were tiny and whilst clean, were clearly very old, the white was going grey and very thin.
The smell of sewage round the staircase, hall way etc was disgusting and clearly knew about by the Management as there was 3 air fresheners plugged in to sockets near the door to the apartment.
The coffee machine in the lobby had a sign up saying cleaning in progress, constantly.
Signs up saying face masks were mandatory in public areas, yet no one including staff adhered to this.
We reported all these issues to the front desk and yet nothing was done just a shrug of shoulders.
So one night, nearly £700 and what we got was a great location but terrible accommodation! In the current world this model is not sustainable.

I noticed that the poor reviews for Citadines Trafalgar Square seem to be about the smaller suites. I can’t speak to those complaints but am pleased with the one bedroom apartment. Everything is clean, front desk staff was wonderful at check in, and we seem to have everything we need. The building is secure and you simply can not beat the location! FYI, coming in from Heathrow, taking the tube to Embankment and exiting to Villiers street was an easy (and inexpensive!) route to the hotel.
It’s not a luxury hotel, but I don’t feel that they try to present themselves as one, so I don’t understand the complaints. Citadines Trafalgar apart hotels are good for traveling as a family, for a longer stay in London, or just to have a bit of space and the convenience of a kitchenette.

Great place to stay on a visit to the city for any reason. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms were exactly as described. There were some basic products in the bathroom and kitchen area, that covered what we needed. There were also teas and coffees available at reception. The bed was comfortable and very little noise from the outside which is a main road. A good choice.

We arrived at 7 am, we had booked and paid for the rooms so that we had them
From the night prior to our arrival so that when we arrive early in the morning we don’t have to wait till check in time at 3 o’clock. The receptionist still tried to tell us that our rooms were not ready yet, we told her that can not be the case because we paid for last night which means the rooms should have been ready and available from last night. We ended up getting the rooms.
Cleaning is every 6 days for all the rooms.
The Pillows were hard as a rock, sheets rough.
Urine smell in the bathrooms.
We asked them to change the room because they smell so bad, the woman manager called back and said all the rooms are the same (we guess she meant smell).
Toilet plumbing was attached to the sink, when you flush the toilet the faucet turns on so you wash your hands and fill up the tank at the same time.
Every smell from the other rooms and food end up in yours.
Hallway smells really bad and the Carpet in hallway insanely dirty.
Doors and walls beat up.
We asked them on the first day to come and change the shower curtain because it smelled like urine and mildew folded together. They did.
We asked where are the hand and face towels, she said we don’t have. However we ended iup getting some 6 days later on cleaning day.
No fans in bathroom.
Furniture in the room old and dirty.
We booked two rooms, one room and 1 apartment for 10 days. I asked the front desk to let us check out an hour late for just one room and they said No.
The location of the hotel is great but that is about it. Probably one of the most disgusting places we ever stayed in with horrible service.
