Staying at The Egerton House Hotel is more akin to being at a beautiful home with family members who attend to your every need. We were a party of nine -- my husband and I as the hosts of our two sons, their wives and three grandchildren, When we arrived, we were not only warmly greeted, but the staff knew who we were, who had allergies, who was celebrating a big birthday (that would be me!) and what activities would appeal to us. It is a BEAUTIFUL hotel within an easy walk of Harrods, the Natural History Museum and the V&A. I don't think we will ever stay anywhere else in London. It is THAT good.

The Egerton House Hotel still feels like home away home. I stayed at the Egerton seven years ago in June 2017 for one week and booked two rooms, one for myself and the other for my sister and her daughter. The Egerton truly felt like home away from home and this time I did not consider any other hotel for accommodations when my friends and I decided to visit London, for among other things, the ABBA voyage.

We really enjoyed the location in Knightsbridge, and went walking in Hyde Park, Chelsea, along the Thames River, and just walked a few minutes to some amazing restaurants.

The staff were friendly and attentive yet somehow understated. I don't know how they do it, but it helped us just relax and enjoy our time in London. We enjoyed the full breakfast every morning, so many wonderful choices and excellent service. I'm a fan of the Financial Times and they always had the day's edition. I'm a bit fussy about the strength of my Americano, but no problem, they made it exactly as requested. Overall, a really bespoke experience.

Morning cleaning and evening turndown service were outstanding. Drapes were opened or closed depending on the time of day, bottles of water and slippers placed in the evening, and they even lighted a candle above the bath tub. One morning, I discovered a team of three as they emerged from my room.

Overall, The Egerton House Hotel is a hotel that works, and there is a lot going on, the high level of service, the British charm, all in a kind of magical, understated way.

My 8-year-old daughter and I stayed at Egerton House during a mother-daughter trip to London, while we loved the city, we both agreed our favorite part of our vacation was the hotel! It was so cozy and clean and such a lovely place to come back to after a long day of walking and sightseeing. The deep bathtub and epsom salts were the BEST, and we slept great in the bed. The housekeeping left little sweet touches around the room every day and the front desk staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. They left a little bear in the room, which my daughter fell in love with, so we were thrilled to learn we could keep it!

The hotel is steps away from museums, shopping, restaurants and cafes, yet feels tucked away from the crowds. I was especially impressed with the food, particularly the breakfast, and it was nice ordering coffee and fresh fruit to the room every morning.

The price was on the higher end of others we were considering, but Egerton House was well worth the splurge. We plan to return to London in the near future and will absolutely stay here again!

Our stay at Egerton House Hotel was absolutely fantastic! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating from the moment we checked in, and our room was spotless with luxurious bedding.

Angel W. (Concierge) assisted me in every aspect of my stay. She arranged tours, made theater, and restaurant reservations. She arranged car pick-ups and drop-offs for me. Angel arranged to have a breakfast care package along with coffee ready for us when we departed for a very early excursion. She placed my dinner order and arranged to have it delivered to my room, and it was ready for us when we arrived. She absolutely was amazing and truly made The Egerton House Hotel my home away from home. Her attention to detail was impecable.

The hotel's location in the heart of the city made it easy to explore everything on foot, and the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of delicious options, as well as a la carte menu.

I especially appreciated the personalized welcome note in my room - it really made me feel valued as a guest. A lit votive candle and bath salt were waiting for us after each turn-down service. I requested a fresh pot of coffee each morning at 5 a.m. and it was delivered to my room along with a smile.

We will most definitely return to the Egerton House Hotel again!!! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London, England.

We had not heard of the 'Red Carnation Hotel Group prior to our stay. To be honest, we chose the hotel for its proximity to the Royal Albert Hall, at which we were attending a show that evening.

We received a very warm welcome upon arrival. Our luggage was stored and delivered to our room later while we were out exploring.

In conversation with Benjamin we enquired as the menu available for some supper after the show. Benjamin explained they have two menus. The Main menu, served until 10pm, then the Late menu. We said we were happy to eat from the Late menu as we were not sure what time we would be back. Benjamin said he would reserve a table.

However, when we went down for a drink, before the show, we were told that the Chef would stay late in order we could choose from the Main menu. Now that is impressive.

As it was we returned just before 10pm so ordered a delicious meal with wine, as well as a famous Vespa Martini, Made to perfection by Chin. You just have to try one, but be warned, they are seriously strong.

Our room, number 27, was a Deluxe Queen on the second floor. A very cosy room, with every amenity you could want, plus a few little extra touches. As we were here for just one night it suited us perfectly. However, our only comment would be 'ditch the four poster' it does nothing to enhance the room, in fact it makes the rooms look and feel smaller. A nice divan bed would give the room a sense of more space.

While we were there we were told the hotel is in the process of renovating some of its rooms. We did not suffer any noise as a result.

The hotel's location is perfect for exploring the Museums, as well as the shops, with both Harrods as well as Harvey Nicks just down the road.

The hotel is totally dog friendly. They make your dog feel as welcome as they do you as a guest.

Breakfast the next day is in a sumptuously decorated, light room with good table spacing as well as a choice of different menus. Corina who looked after us was extreemly friendly as well as very efficient.

A thank you must also go to Kevin, who looked after us along with Chin in the bar/dining area.

All in all a very enjoyable stay. A hotel we would have no hesitation in recommending.

They even gave us a small parting gift. Home made Shortbread.

Thank you.

Here you stay when the best in the small format is desired!
With its incomparably central location, it is a top choice to stay at.
Here you are welcomed by attentive and very professional staff at the small and cozy reception.
The rooms are all different and personally decorated and quite overdecorated in a very elegant and tasteful way.

The small bar serves tea, drinks and light meals.
Breakfast is served in the small format where nothing is impossible and everything is very beautifully presented.

The lack of conference facilities and bathing facilities and other things that are often not used makes the hotel feel very personal, cozy and very elegant.
The price is certainly not the lowest you can find but the service is the highest you can get.

Our stay at The Egerton House was magnificent. It was my first time in London, and we were looking for a magical place to usher in our trip. The Egerton did not disappoint!

We felt so welcomed and cared for. The service was exceptional, everyone was so helpful, kind and accommodating. Our room was always kept tip-top (with little surprise goodies we were delighted to come back to) and the meals were delicious. In a beautiful location, The Egerton promises a calm, rejuvenating and luxurious stay that would make anyone feel at home.

In many ways this was an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, the person who checked us in (I think he was called Ben) was lovely and welcoming, and the service in the bar and in the entrance hall was exemplary. The bartender was especially friendly, and made a mean martini/cocktail. We noticed she was also firm but polite to someone who was not a resident, but who had sought to come into the bar after hours.

However, one moment did sour the experience. At breakfast, the server was rather rude and acted - in my opinion - unprofessionally. This began as we joined our friends for breakfast. I was asked what I would like - tea or coffee - but my husband was not. When my coffee arrived, I said politely that my husband hadn't been asked what he would like - and was told that the coffee was meant for both of us. However, this wasn't true, as he hadn't asked/requested coffee at this point. Why the person couldn't simply apologise I'm not sure. Following this, we ordered, and the server came back in, and stated that we did not have the complimentary breakfast. This was said in a raised voice, so that everyone in the room could hear, as if we were being told off. We were well aware that our breakfast was not included - we had decided to place this on our credit which we had been given - and indeed we had been told when we checked in that it was fine to attend breakfast and simply add this to the bill/take this from the credit. Anyhow this soured the morning, especially because we couldn't wait to leave the table. Thus, while I enjoyed everything else at the hotel, I probably wouldn't return, and I probably wouldn't recommend to friends or family, especially if they would visit and receive similar behaviour.

Dear bathreviewsmc, Thank you so much for sharing your extensive evaluation of The Egerton House Hotel on TripAdvisor. It was a pleasure to have you staying with us and I am thrilled that you enjoyed aspects of your stay and our services. I am regretful however that there were aspects of your visit – specifically your breakfast dining experience – where we fell short of your expectations. My team and I all have a dedicated commitment to providing excellent service and always strive to exceed the expectations of our guests. Please know that your situation was an exception. As you can see from other reviews, we are known for taking ownership and caring deeply about our valued guests. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at The Egerton House Hotel with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. We would love to make things right if you give us another chance. We cannot undo the past, but you have my personal commitment to improve the way our staff serves every individual guest going forward. We had the privilege of spending the Christmas holiday at the Egerton Hotel in London. This hotel beats out all of the big-box chain hotels in the area by a mile. It excels in everything it is and does. It is simply classic, while providing every modern necessity. The building is well appointed and maintained and furnished true to its time period, with beautiful furniture, mirrors and art that can be appreciated throughout.
Our hotel room was lovely with a beautiful bathroom, large built in closets, and a four-poster queen bed with a pillow top mattress that was soft and firm at the same time. The room also had art pieces in the impressionist and black and white style that could be appreciated as well as beautiful bay windows with a settee. Our hotel room had a fruit and cheese plate and a wonderful welcome note waiting for us when we arrived.
Make no mistake about it, this hotel’s greatest asset is its staff, who go above and beyond at every venture. Whether it was the concierge who greeted you every morning when you came down the stairs or when you returned back from an outing, or one of the waiters or waitresses in the the dining room, everyone one simply top notch. They still call a cab if you ask, can tell you where the most obscure monument in England is, walk you step by step to where the nearest Underground Station is, plus they still have nightly turndown service with a chocolate on your pillow every night. They even place a candle in the bathroom so that you have enough light to find your way without turning on lights in the middle of the night.
You simply won’t find better. Many thanks to all who made our trip very special.

From the outset the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble.
What to expect during our stay was explained clearly on arrival and staff were able to recommend nearby restaurants if we chose not to eat in.
We requested breakfast to our room both mornings (at no extra charge) and the ladies made the table setting beautifully.
Our room was beautifully decorated with quality furnishings and accessories. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable.
We would definitely recommend this hotel which was in a perfect location for our needs (V&A, Natural History Museum, Harrods, other local shops, coffee houses, restaurants). We were also given a VIP pass for the V&A.
We will definitely go back!

Response from Michelle Devlin, General Manager at The Egerton House Hotel
Responded 26 Sept 2023
Dear Erika, May I begin by thanking you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback from your stay at The Egerton House Hotel. I am overjoyed to read that your time with us was a comfortable and enjoyable experience. My appreciation for your kind words on our outstanding team and on the stellar service and care that they provided to you. No request is too small and no detail is too small here at The Egerton so I am delighted to see this so perfectly reflected in your review. This accommodating service runs throughout and extends beyond the walls of the hotel to your dinning recommendations, which I am happy to hear were taken care of for you. It is also pleasing to read that you found your room to be comfortable and beautifully decorated, each and every one of our rooms are individually designed to highest of finishes, where no two rooms are alike. I am especially happy to hear that you had a restful nights sleep and that you room service breakfast was a brilliant way to start the day. We would be delighted to welcome you back to what we hope you now consider your London home from home. Until this time we pledge to maintain the hotel to the same high standards that you experienced during your first stay and provide a warm Egerton welcome upon your return. Should you require any assistance with future reservations please do not hesitate to reach out directly and one of our team will gladly assist. Kind Regards, Michelle Devlin General Manager

If you are seniors do not fool with anything other than Uber. You will have lots of walking to get to the Heathrow Express and when you get to Paddington, it is hell to get a cab or Uber there. You will end up spending the same amount as a Uber all the way from LHR.

The hotel staff are very accommodating and I'm pretty sure if you turn up with nice new trainers it will be fine. I have to wear similar because of joint problems and it was never commented on. Apart from that, the people I saw having afternoon tea were dressed in a variety of very dressy to smart but casual. All the staff there will want you to have a lovely time, so be comfortable and enjoy.
