Opened by renowned hotelier Cesar Ritz in 1906, The Ritz today still retains all the glamour and excitement synonymous with this world famous hotel. Perfectly located in a landmark position on Piccadilly in the heart of London's West End, the 136 room luxury hotel is ideally placed to suit both business and leisure visitors alike. Now totalling 111 bedrooms and 25 suites, the elegant rooms combine the original Louis XVI style interiors with modern day technology. Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful rooms in the world, The Michelin-starred Ritz Restaurant features a magnificent frescoed ceiling with west facing windows overlooking Green Park beyond. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, with a 'Live at The Ritz' Dinner Dance on Friday and Saturday evenings. The Ritz offers, most famously, daily Afternoon Tea service which has been popular since the hotel first opened. The stylishly updated Rivoli Bar was designed by Tessa Kennedy and features Art Deco styled interiors. Open daily with a bar menu. The Ritz London is a Grade II star listed building and in 2002 became the first hotel to receive the Royal Warrant from his Royal Highness The Prince of Wales for banqueting and catering services.

3-night stay at the Ritz as a treat for my partners 40th Birthday and we absolutely loved it. It's obviously expensive but from the very 1st moment to the moment we left we were made to feel special, the service was amazing and the staff super friendly. I had made some special requests given the occasion and they were carried out flawlessly and without fuss. Room was lovely and the food, be it dinner or breakfast was top drawer good. The entertainment in the restaurant on Friday evening comprising a band, singer and dancers was wonderful. If you are looking for a modern 5-star hotel with clean lines and modern everything, with charging points everywhere and all the room facilities operated by a touchscreen, you will hate this hotel. However, if like us you want character, history, nostalgia, and an absence of those wretched LED lights in the bedroom that you get these days when you want to sleep, and be taken back in time to the days of liveried footman, uniformed housemaids and the perfect gin martini then you will absolutely love it. You even get a proper room key rather than some horrible piece of plastic. Quintessentially, British at its best. Special thank you to Rita for the way she remedied a small issue pre check-in and looking after us throughout the weekend.

We have just been fortunate enough to spend three nights at this wonderful hotel. From the moment the doormen greeted us from our taxi we knew we were going to have a fabulous few days. Every single member of staff was friendly and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile.

Our bedroom, a junior suite was without doubt the prettiest hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. A complimentary bottle of champagne just added to the experience. It was kept beautifully by chamber maids who always seemed to know when your room needed tidying without us seeing them. Girls you are amazing.

We had booked dinner with live music on the Saturday night. The food was exquisite, every course , those chosen and the ‘extras” . The waiter’s and waitresses were quick , efficient and very informative. The sommelier ( sorry I didn’t remember his name ) was fabulous. He was great fun but very knowledgeable. There was nothing we didn’t love and a “happy anniversary cake “ with a candle was brought to us it was the icing on the cake.
The musicians and singer added to this really wonderful evening . The dancers came as a surprise to me and goodness they were good.

Breakfast , my favourite meal of the day , was the most challenging. I’m indecisive and picking from a menu was a hard choice ! Everything we had was beautiful . Pastries to die for especially the brioche pastries , wow !

Sunday night we chose the Rivoli Bar for a lighter super. I had chicken Caesar salad my husband chose the Ritz classic club. Accompanied by a lovely glass of champagne it was a super way to end a lovely day.

I can truly say The Ritz is a very special place . I’m thrilled to have been and hope to be able to return one day .
To all the staff , thank you for making our celebration extra special.

Opting for The Ritz London on a family trip was a visually opulent experience. Situated conveniently near a Tube station, the hotel's superb location facilitates easy city exploration. The rooms exude classical refinement with tasteful decor and the added touch of Dyson hairdryers. Proximity to public transportation ensures effortless access to bustling city districts. A sumptuous breakfast at the aesthetically pleasing restaurant, featuring a delightful variety on the menu, left a lasting impression. Staff demonstrated remarkable politeness and patience, elevating the dining experience through detailed dish explanations. The Ritz London embodies classic British elegance, justifying its higher cost through moments of indulgence and premium service. Immersing oneself in this quintessential British luxury is highly recommended for a travel experience unbound by cost limitations.

My wife and I have been 4 times to the Ritz for afternoon tea, and had a stay on our bucket list of things to do.

After we watched the Ritz documentary on the TV, we booked what was then their culinary escape package. However, due to COVID, the hotel closed and we had to cancel this trip.

Anyway, we did rebook our stay on the Simply Sunday package (dinner, bed and breakfast with a bottle of Ritz champagne in the room)

Before our trip to London, we contacted reception and, as we would be resident, we could reserve a table at the Rivoli bar.

We arrived and were checked in at 11am with no fuss. Our cases were stored and we went to explore the area.

On our return at 1.30, we were shown directly to our table in the Rivoli bar where we had a bottle of Ritz Rose Champagne and a cocktail or two.

Just as we were finishing our drink, a member of reception came into the bar and collected us, showing us to our room and stating that it had been arranged for our cases to be sent ahead.

To our surprise, we had been upgraded from a junior suite to a deluxe suite that overlooked both Piccadilly and Green Park (room 218).

The footprint of the room was almost as big as that of our house. It had a hallway that led to the bathroom one way and living room the next. The living room was huge and so well furnished. We dare not sit on any of the chairs as we didn't want to dent the cushions. Through a little vestibule that linked the bedroom and bathroom (but could be used to completely isolate the bedroom from other areas of the suite) was a large bedroom with the most amazing Green Park views. There was definitely no struggle with storage, either in the bedroom or bathroom. A huge marble clad bathroom with double sinks and Asprey toiletries completed the suite.

After a relaxing bath and the bottle of Ritz champagne that was in the room, we went down for out evening meal. Amuse bouche and bread were brought to the table whilst we chose our food and wine, I am not a great shellfish eater, but the langoustine à la nage (which was delicious) and my wife's lobster were excellent starter choices. We then fought over whether to have the duck or beef Wellington for our main, but opted for the whole duck, where the breast was carved at the table and the legs were sent back to the kitchen to be confit and were served as a separate course. Crêpes Suzette were professionally produced for us at the table with an amazing double flambé. The meal was topped off with a Ritz birthday cake for my wife (which was boxed up for us to take away as we were so full by this time).

Following a restful nights sleep in our fabulous suite, we awoke, ready for our breakfast. Fresh pastries, a continental service, and then hot breakfast was ordered - all with table service.

I could go on, but wont. Throughout our stay, all members of staff were excellent and treated every guest as an individual and to the same level of service.

So, from a bucket list adventure to a return trip? - my wife wants to go back to The Ritz for another stay next August for a milestone birthday, so I guess we will be seeing you again soon!

The hotel is exquisitely beautiful, well located, and priced accordingly. Our suite was beautiful and comfortable however we had a few issues with the hotel. Our first night (Saturday) we had dinner reservations in the dining room. We arrived at our table at 7 and the room was nearly empty, and they then informed us that there was a 55 GBP/person surcharge on Saturday night because there would be musical entertainment. Non-negotiable. Since we were tired and hungry and not interested in the entertainment, we were taken to the hotel bar for dinner instead. The menu was very limited--well-done burgers (they only do well-done, no choice), deep-fried appetizers, and salads. And if you don't finish and want to take the food back to the room, forget it, it's not allowed. Another issue was when I mistakenly entered the wrong room (same room, didfferent floor)--my key actually opned somebody else's room. I had intended to get my glasses, the room looked the same but then I noticed some things lying around that I didn't recognize and realized it was the WRONG room! Shocking that my key worked in somebody else's room. The front desk at first did nothing, but we reported it again the following day and they tweaked the key. I would not stay here again.

This hotel is a bucket list one so we were really excited about going. We went for our 40th wedding anniversary and the staff were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond for us. We were upgraded at no extra cost and when we got to our room there was a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for us. It was a wonderful experience. We had afternoon tea in the palm court and it was exemplary. Everything on the tiered tray was replaced once finished and the tea just kept being poured for us. Their staff are second to none and the doorman Ronaldo and the receptionist Jacamo (sorry if it’s not spelt correctly!) we’re just unbelievably brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they both deserve a shout out! Thank you to everyone who made our stay unforgettable.

This hotel has over time earned a worldwide reputation for luxury and elegance, which are confirmed today. Positive aspect, and not so obvious, is that guests are received with such kindness, courtesy, availability to put you really at ease. The common areas are refined and well cared for, (large bouquets of fresh flowers are placed in the pots every morning, a refinement to note). The staff we dealt with were friendly, discreet and, as expected, very professional.
I consider the whole stay, from the room, to the services, to the breakfasts really excellent.

Went for 1 night and the dinner dance and spent some time in the Rivoli bar. From checking in to checking out we had an absolutely amazing time with service from every member of staff that can only be described as friendly yet professional and perfect. So many personal and special touches that just made the whole occasion one to remember and talk about for a lifetime! The food and cocktails in the Rivoli bar were nothing short of breathtaking, and if you have it in mind to attend the evening dinner dance you are in for an amazing night. Live music, perfection, professional dancers routine by way of early entertainment whilst you eat, incredibly good and depicts everything you could imagine! Food, Chef John Williams and of course his team have at last been awarded 2 Michelin stars. Well deserved, it’s fantastic! And served by a passionate crew that just add to the occasion. All in all it’s one of the best nights you can have in London and if it’s quintessentially traditionally British you’re looking for, I doubt you will find better in the world!
Book it, you won’t be disappointed!

Arrived at the Ritz hotel which is a beautiful building with lots of window boxes, lining the windows sills along the street with cyclamen and other plants the entrance and facade just exudes class.

The entrance is so Festive with Christmas trees inside and out at this time of year making our afternoon more magical.
The doorman greeting us welcomed us and directed us to the side entrance for our booking of afternoon tea.
We had dressed in our best as the dress code is smart ,(No Jean's trainers etc this is clear on the web page. )
We qued down a very grand stair case to the cloakroom where there was a chap who had come in a jumper and Jean's! the cloak room staff were excellent and presented the man with smart clothing to wear.
It was good to see the the standards are kept high for all with no exceptions.

The corridor leading to the Ritz club dining room was exquisite, breath taking lots of gold and rich colours and Christmas themed displays.
Afternoon tea was in a grand room with painted frescoes, with more Christmas trees, which were themed for afternoon
tea with cake baubles and china cups/saucers .
There was a grand piano with a gentleman playing lovely melodies and a choir singing Christmas songs.

We were shown to our table and given a menu with choices of teas and champagne we were asked about any allergies etc .
The tea was served in beautiful traditional silver tea pots it was plentiful and replenished.
The sandwiches were perfectly cut to finger size and each was described to us of what the fillings were and the same for the cakes , the scones and mince pies were also slightly warm! yummy...
It was all absolutely scrumptious and replenished regularly to each table.

Our waiter must have taken note it was our daughters birthday and at one point, each person who was in the room who was celebrating a birthday was brought a small cake ,and the piano and choir sang happy Birthday.

This experience was just pure class !
and we have memories that will last a lifetime .

Thank you to all the staff who do a great job at making it so special for everyone.

We stayed here for two nights this week for my wife's birthday. I had notified the hotel of this in advance, so she was surprised when she found a personal birthday cake in the room complete with a single candle and....... a box of matches? Where were the 'elf and safety people?

I don't really know what I can say about this hotel that hasn't already been said before. The service throughout is immaculate.

Our room was very pleasant and spacious. The bathroom was well equipped. Bowls of fruit were brought for our consumption and complimentary Ritz Water was placed in the room each day.

Service and drinks in the Rivoli bar were excellent. If you ever get the chance you really must try the Ritz Club Sandwich in the bar. OK, it's £25 but you've probably never eaten a sandwich like it before. Just amazing.

Breakfast was served in the main restaurant and was very, very good. You could have whatever you wanted and it was always cooked to order just for you. There's no pre-cooked food here. Plenty of fresh orange juice and tea or coffee from silver pots.

My wife used the gym on the 7th floor at for an hour at 7.00am each morning. It's not very big but has sufficient equipment and she was the only person there on the second day (and only one other person there on the first day).

The only downside of our visit was that, due to Covid, the table numbers in the restaurant had been reduced. As a result, we were not able to dine in the restaurant as it was fully booked for the following 7-8 nights. I really think that, as good customer service, the hotel, at the time of my booking, should have pointed this out and given me the opportunity back then to book a table. But, it didn't and I simply didn't expect to be turned away from the restaurant as residents. Never mind. I must check for that situation next time.

It was without doubt the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed at but it was worth every penny.
