Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Premier Inn London Tolworth strikes a chord with its clean and comfortable atmosphere, particularly enchanting for those visiting for the first time. Although opinions on value are split, with some guests finding hidden costs and the room quality underwhelming, others consider it a reasonable choice for budget-conscious travelers. The rooms garner praise for their cleanliness, yet size and maintenance issues are a concern, and the occurrence of disturbances has been called out.
Service quality varies, with commendations for attentive staff but also noted lapses in housekeeping and responsiveness. Amenities such as convenient parking and family-friendliness receive appreciation, yet the WiFi leaves room for improvement. The hotel's location is commended for its easy access to transportation and local attractions, and while cleanliness is a strong point, there are remarks about the need for cleaner carpets and less intrusive cleaning schedules.

Detailed Reviews
We are retired ex-hoteliers and have never stayed at a Premier Inn before. We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the bedroom & bathroom, mu husband said the power and speed of the water flow to the bath was impressive.
Our only negatives were with breakfast in the morning. My husband didn't want to stay for breakfast when he heard the chattering & shrieks from the many childen in the breakfast room so the breakfast manager attemped to find us a quieter table although not exactly sussessful at this. We had to pay in advance as we entered the breakfast room but if we'd have seen that there was no cooked food ready we probably wouldn't have stayed. It took a good 20 min wait for any hot food to arrive on the buffet & it seemed very greasy. Didn't particularly enjoy it when we had it.
Wouldn't put me off staying there again but woulld leave without breakfast.

Arrived around 5 for one night with 2 rooms booked. Greeted and booked in without issue. Was advised breakfast was on but evening restaurant closed. Not an issue for our party with Uber eats ready and waiting. We had corner rooms on 1st floor, and were clean and presentable. Odd sign of wear and tear, but no bad smells, bedding felt and looked clean. Bathroom looked clean too with hand and shower gel available. Very quiet a/c and virtually zero road noise despite one room facing directly onto road led to a decent sleep. My other room needed extra pillows that was easily and politely sorted with a trip to reception.
A booked breakfast slot was good, sat at table straight away, everything explained politely. Plenty of food available from the buffet, always subject to personal taste, but was well cooked, tasty enough. One thing to be thankful of now is that you’re not packed up so plenty of space and decent clear screens between diners were in place.
We booked this to go to Hampton court palace and then use the train station next door to visit central London.
Only downside is the parking, just not enough of it. We had no problem at 5 or 3 the following day, but would’ve no idea where to go if not available. It is first come first served so beware if using a prebook website as I had.
Overall, way better than bad reviews I’d read, I’d use again if needing to stay in the area.

Situated near station.
Not that close to Tolworth itself.
Parking is located in the basement, you collect ticket to pay £8 per night from reception.
Was quite a wait to check in as only one staff who was also minding the food area, the lady herself was pleasant enough.
Self check-in was out of order, reception area small and right near the toilets, with restaurant on same floor, has two lifts to the basement and 7th floor.
The first room offered on 2nd floor had an overwhelming stench of cigarettes even though it state no smoking in building prohibited.
We was given another choice of room 7th floor by the pleasant receptionist.
Unfortunately another young member of staff who seeing us entering said she had “promised” this new room to “someone else” but had not logged it on the system.
After a long day of traveling and visiting friends/family for the first time since covid. I just wanted to get my young daughter & myself to bed.
This member of staff then requested us go all the way to see another room on the first floor which also smelt dreadful.
Although room 7th floor was fine, the bed ok, the room clean, new smelling, the 2nd member of staff intervention and the other stinky rooms has put me off staying at this Tolworth hotel again.

Got here around 7:30pm on a Friday night was a bit worried about the parking after reading the reviews but absolutely no issues to park. Lifts were working on the Friday. Checked in with the lovely man who seemed to be sorting reception waiting on tables and doing the bar was really nice and friendly and quick to get checked in and room key.
Went down for a large glass of wine as I had been driving with my two boys for a good few hours to get here and the chef who also was doing a lot on his own made my two lads the best chocolate brownies they said they’d ever tasted.
Room was nice and comfy beds. The bath filled within minutes my only one gripe was the towels were rock hard
Great breakfast and again my lads took full advantage of that
The lifts had stopped working overnight it wasn’t a problem for us as the stairs warmed us up for the day ahead
Overall we had a great stay and would stay again

I have stayed in Premier Inn many times but by far this was the worst one despite it being a new hotel. Lets start with the positives the rooms are new so feel fresh and the room was a credit to the Housekeeping team.
Someone entered my room in the early hours, which resulted in me being very uneasy and then unable to sleep. I advised the reception and they said oh it must of just been a member of staff, not acceptable and the staff member just said she would make a note of it!
I had pre-booked breakfast but on arrival at Breakfast was told there was a 45 minute wait and could have it to take away and only one member of staff on duty. I booked this hotel as wanted a full breakfast and not a breakfast in a box. (although this was refunded the same day when I advised I was not prepared to wait) I have stayed in many Hotels since COVID precautions and this is the only hotel that has been unbale to cope. Stayed in another Premier Inn is Central London were breakfast was perfect.
Walked down the stairs and someone had been sick on the floor, so was forced to use the lift. In this current climate there should be more regular checks of public areas.
The car park underneath the Hotel was like a Council ran unsecure multi storey )although only one level) there was a bin overflowing, pizza boxes left on top of the bin, empty wine bottles and cans. Would not take much for staff to clean.
Overall a very disappointing stay and I will think twice about staying in a Premier Inn anytime soon. I would of expected the member of staff who was on duty on check out to have dealt with it but not even an apology as she was on our own and having to deal with the poor breakfast service. I have tried to claim under the "Good Night Guarantee" but can not find how do this on the website.

I tried to sort this out with Premier Inn Social Media team.
My message to them: "Bugs on the sink, hole in the wall, main stairwell absolutely filthy, restaurant closed again, staff on reception lied, TWICE! Once about not being able to move my room because they were full then again trying to lie that the reataurant closed Sunday & Monday - which is funny considering your trip advisor reviews mention you don't have chefs.. And my previous stay last month on a Wednesday evening was the same."
Their response was to take me through security questions, booking confirmation just to say "We'll pass the feedback onto the hotel team"
The hotel was absolutely filthy.
Travelodge across the road was cleaner albeit smelt of stale urine.
If you're travelling down for a cleaning course at a nearby National Training Academy - then avoid this hotel unless you have a bloody good vacuum cleaner, pesticide and a range of cleaning products.

Responded 11 Oct 2021
Hi, Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry that you were left disappointed by the cleanliness standards in your room on arrival. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and teams has always been incredibly important to us and everyone in our hotels should rightly expect a safe, clean and protected environment. The Coronavirus crisis has brought this into sharp focus, which is why we have launched a new rigorous, daily cleaning regime across all our hotels. We apologise you found your room to not be up to the high standard we would expect. We have ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with our Housekeeping teams to prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to contact us and we hope we can welcome you for a more enjoyable stay in the future. Kind regards, James

Our room smelt of smoke, being above the kitchen/bar area and next to the fire exit stairwell we assumed somebody had been smoking. We booked the hotel as a family room and chose premier inn as we thought the rooms were always the same everywhere, I can safely say they are not! We booked as 2 adults, 1 child, 1 toddler/baby, the cot we were given was on it's last legs and a pop up cot, nothing like the advert looks like. The lifts ended up being down and we were on the 3rd floor, nightmare with a buggy... no mention of paying for parking on the advert (never had to do that before at a premier inn) and the parking facilities were laughable in terms of numbers and dangerous at best, a 3 - 5 point maneuver to go up it at best. Arrived at 2.30pm asking if we could check in early as we needed to sort young toddler etc, was told no (which would have been fair enough) as they were busy last night and all the rooms are being cleaned (which angered us as they didn't bother to check our room so was just a blanket excuse) we asked for the parking ticket as requested and nobody saw fit to tell us there was a free allocation, or a suitable place to park alternatively if full. Oh and we were only given one key card for 2 adults with 2 young kids, it's fairly evident that there's a likelihood that at some point.. the adults will be split up. The room just seemed a normal size just with an extra bed, there was barely enough space to walk, literally. A family room implies that there's enough room for a family. Again, a family room for 2 adults, 2 kids implies there is going to be more than 2 people.. yet facilities in terms of cups, pillows, blankets, even towels were set up for 1 person in reality, 2 at an extreme push. It was that bad, we actually went to another premier inn to ask if we could transfer, another big fat no from the manager, but the initial member of staff advised they did have a family room available. So all in all.. there's a bit you could improve on!

We normally stay in a Premier Inn as a family when visiting Lego Land, other theme parks and have never had any issues with them, but then we stayed at the Premier Inn London Tolworth.
We arrived at 14:40, 40 minutes after we should be able to check in and then after wating 20 minutes to see a member of staff appear from the office next to reception to be told that the room had not been cleaned yet, and to bear with them as the room card system was down only for the member of staff to disapear back into the office for quite a while.
When we were eventually shown our room which we weren't given a door card for we found the room was dirty, sticky sweets on the floor between the beds that stuck to your foot as you walked from the side of the bed, socks left in the draw from the previous occupant and really dusty shelf so we couldn't use that to put any clothes on as they would have got dirty.
The shower head was broken as we found out when it was used and this flooded the bathroom floor and the shower curtain broke when pulled accross and despite attmepting to reclip this it kept coming undone.
After having been in the room for around 50 minutes there was a knock at the door of our room, a member of staff nformed us that we were in the wrong room, when I questioned this they then backtracked and said, no sorry I've got the wrong room.
We had pre paid for beakfast and booked it for 08:00 with a member of staff as advised by them as they said it would be busy the followng morning as we wanted to get out early to get to Chessington to beat the ques.
When we went downstairs the following morning at 08:00 and spoke with a clearly flustered member of staff they checked the booking form and said Oh yes you have, we don't have any tables, go back to your room to wait and we'll let you know when a table is free.
This was not acceptable and we saw the woman that we had booked the table time with the previous night and asked her why when we had booked with her we were being asked to go back to our room (which we can't get into as there are no room cards still) she was then able to quickly get us a table near the kitchen serving hatch.
It took quite a while to get any service for drinks / food and after we had our orders taken it was quite comical to hear the staff bickering at the toast station which was right behind our table about staff not doing their jobs properly, which tables has complainted about the slow service and what the customers could go and do!
One of our children needed the toilet when in the restaurant but there was no toilet paper in any of the toilets at all, no staff to ask for more toilet paper as they were all either hiding in the office of rushed of thier feet in the restaurant, I had to get napkins from the table to use, not the most hygenic!
We saw lots of others complaining and one woman even had her foot in the office door to prevent it being closed whilt she spoke with a manager as this seemed to be the managers 'safe space' to hide away from the chaos that was ensuing outside their door.
There is lots more that I could write about that was wrong with our stay but I didn't plan to write a novel today, in closing avoid the London Tolworth and pick another Premier Inn.

Where do I start! This hotel has very limited parking spaces in a very cramped basement and one disabled bay which is not stated on there website. If your looking for an evening meal don't bother with the restaurant it is not open due to staff shortage's and not enough chefs. Another thing that there website has not stated!!
Check in very slow no self serve working and only one member of staff running the bar and check in.
Breakfast was a total sham, the first morning we went to the cafe on the Broadway which was lovely The second morning decided to eat at the hotel ,there were no plates no cutlery and no food as the chef could not cook fast enough. Considering it was a buffet i,t shouldn't have been that hard to fill a couple of bowls with hot food. I don't know what he would have done if he had to plate each one. We had to use side plates for breakfast as they had run out of big plates the cutlery was just dumped on the table straight from the dishwasher still in the basket. The glasses were boiling hot so you couldn't even put juice in. There were boxes of juice on the side just left for us to help ourselves to, as they could not refill the jugs,. Gino when you seat people try not to rush them off the table give them a chance to eat. It was like faulty towers operation but worse!!
The rooms looked tidy but were thick with dust down the sides of the bed, the toilet still had old dry poo in the bowl, the shower curtain hanging off and only one towel for a family of three and to top it off no house keeper in sight. We had to go to reception and get towels etc.
This place needs to have proper management and not young kids with attitude that are willing to argue with customers that have paid there hard earned money.
It's a a shame as the hotel is in a good location but just a few thing let it down.
I would advise any one staying here to eat before you arrive or order a takeaway there are plenty of nice places on the Broadway.

The Premier Inn Tolworth is very close to Tolworth Railway Station, a few minutes walk away. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well supplied. Breakfasts are a choice of Full English with Continental and just Continental, both of which are good quality and well cooked with a wide choice of items. We didn't try the restaurant in the evenings as we were eating with friends so can't comment on the menu there. There is car parking but if like us you travel by train the hotel is on the main bus route to Surbiton and Kingston and there is a frequent service.
