Me and my partner were gifted a virgin experience with the DoubleTree Liverpool including spa treatments each, use of spa facilities, £50 off our meal in Koukash, room for the night & breakfast. We both didn’t enjoy our spa treatment at all, both of our masseuses wouldn’t stop nattering, we weren’t able to relax, my partners talking about how she couldn’t wait to get home, my masseuse ranting about being against the COVID vaccine, Very unprofessional. The spa facilities were nice but a little overcrowded with other couples. Our meal was extremely disappointing. The food was only ok and the staff - the manager in particular - made us very uncomfortable. We dined in the Koukash restaurant on Sunday the 16th Jan 2022. The manager was very rude to the waiter consistently throughout our whole meal in front of all the customers, all of which were clearly equally uncomfortable. Shouting at him from across the restaurant and even walking away muttering in another language. We then received our bill, our meal and drinks came to around £50/£60 which is what we expected, but although our virgin experience included £50 off our meal, our bill was made up by £30 of VAT and £10 service charge. So although we expected our meal to be almost entirely covered by our gift experience we ended up paying about £48 of VAT and service charge for very underwhelming food and an uncomfortable experience. Understandably me and my partner decided to get a McDonald’s for breakfast instead of going back to the Koukash restaurant despite breakfast being ‘included’. The room was very nice and very clean, although the beds and cushions weren’t very comfortable and neither of us slept well. Very disappointed with the whole experience to be honest and me and my partner really aren’t ones to complain, but this experience was just the complete opposite of what we were expecting.

Thought we would book the Hilton knowing it’s usually pretty good hotel service but in this occasion we were highly disappointed! Rooms were clean and comfy bed but that’s about it . £25 for one hour in the pool is ridiculous, small print or not it’s not the point it’s the principle, don’t offer pool services if that’s the case . Secondly , the staff weren’t that friendly on arrival Or departure. They never asked if everything was ok . The breakfast was £15 each and was disappointing to say the least .. premier inn breakfast much better !! The help Yourself cooked items were dried up and not replaced with a fresh tray .. it’s also not difficult to serve proper mushrooms not tinned ! We stay in a lot of hotels and I would certainly suggest not this one in Liverpool . We have stayed in different Hilton’s and have experienced better customer service .

Decidedly overpriced for a below average experience. 1.) A “spa hotel” with no spa facilities included in your stay! This is a clear sneaky, disingenuous description of the hotel. They are keen to point out that the spa is a different business when you arrive, however it’s part of the hotel when you book. 2.) Tired, not dirty, but in need of repair. Hilton/Doubletree need to up their game. The rooms are draughty. The windows/double glazing no good at keeping our cold or noise. 3.) Rude staff. Not everyone, but one gentleman in particular. When asking about the spa he was accusatory in his tone, that it was somehow my fault I hadn’t read their smallprint concerning the extra charge for using spa facilities at the “spa hotel”. His response was reeled off so quickly that it was evident this was a common complaint. In short. There are much better hotels at a much more reasonable price in Liverpool. Don’t waste your time or money at a hotel that doesn’t even match the description.

I really like this hotel, it's my first visit but defo not my last. The welcome from Reception is pleasant every time I enter or exit, breakfast offers an excellent range and in plentiful quantities and the room, oh my, an upgrade to a really relaxing place. Huge with plenty of storage, loads of floorspace, very large bed and gorgeous bathroom. Everywhere is spotless too. I cannot recommend this 'by the city centre' hotel strongly enough. Thank you to the whole team there.
