Bluewaters Hotel garners mixed reactions, with guests commending its prime location near the town center and beach, and some enjoying the lively entertainment on offer. However, the appreciation for the friendly staff is overshadowed by reports of inconsistent service. While the beds receive some praise, the rooms often face criticism for their lack of cleanliness and dated condition. Amenities like the pool are appreciated by some, yet additional charges leave many guests feeling the value doesn't match the cost, especially given the hotel's need for updates.

We stayed for a week last August and enjoyed the food, staff, entertainment etc so decided to visit again this year. Unfortunately there was very little entertainment I guess due to fewer guests staying but we went elsewhere for entertainment where the drinks cost about half as much as the hotel charged (H & A club, Coronation Street). Take a taxi down for less than £10 or get the tram to Central pier and walk in about t5 minutes.

The pool was well used but on the day we planned to have a swim there weren't free spaces for us. Should have booked this earlier in the week.

The rooms were clean but a bit tired and will benefit from an upgrade as advised bu the staff, the new owners (previously the hotel was called The Bedford) plan to spend a canny amount of money on an upgrade. Due to Covid issues the rooms are serviced for you but not serviced during your stay unless you have a particular issue and it will be dealt with. Just had to ask for milk, coffee etc when required.
We would definitely go back there in the future. Most of the staff we had last year were still there this year so it was nice to be recognised and feel welcome. The staff are very helpful if you have any queries or issues.

The shower in our room didn't work, I reported this they said someone would look at it and they didn't as the handy man was not in, we were not notified that it had not been fixed so yet again we had to struggle to have a shower. The shower head was full of lime scale so the water didn't come out properly. We were told we could us the pool showers if needed but I do not feel this is acceptable when we have paid for a room with shower facilities.

The rooms were dirty and not cleaned properly.

The pool as not in working order, I know this is an additional charge but I feel this is something you should notify your guest about prior to their arrival. We only booked this hotel because of the pool we had two young children with us and they were extremely disappointed.

We complained to management and I feel there was no responsibility taken on there part.

I have also emailed management three time with a detail email about this and I've not had any response.
I was very disappointed with my stay.

The beds were very comfortable and some of the staff were lovely.

The staff working while I was there were all friendly and helpful, can't fault them, they were fantastic (that's reception and bar/restaurant staff)
Unfortunately, the hotel itself wasn't so nice. Very dated, lift was tiny which was awkward with the suitcase and bags (it was just me and my child so didn't want to leave her there while I took my case so very cramped lift rides with luggage) must also be awkward for wheelchair users and for buggies etc... Area by lift smelled of damp. Bed was comfy but right by the very drafty window, all around the window stuff was crumbling and blinds shaking in the wind, heating went on and off so sometimes the room was cold. Furniture dated and room cramped. One plug socket (We had 2 phones, iPad, watch and power packs to charge) and it was not by the bed. Dining area very cramped and some tables very close to the table next to it and the tables were tiny. Breakfast was great, cooked breakfast buffet, toast, cereals, yoghurt, juices, tea and coffee - adult dinners were ok (small portions) but the kids meals weren't great. Location wise, I liked that we weren't in the noisy busy part but also not far - tram stop opposite which took a just a few mins to get down to the town or a 15/20 min walk.

The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the train station and 15-20 mins from Wintergardens/north pier (great for the Rebellion festival). The beach is right outside just over the road (there is a pedestrian crossing nearby for when the road is busy). There are two tram stops about 2 mins walk in either direction. Noise levels: The hotel was very quiet while we were there - no rowdy 3am parties etc.

The staff were really friendly, welcoming and helpful at all times. I felt they wanted the guests to enjoy their stay and weren't just there to check them in and take their payment.

We had breakfast included in the price and there was loads of choice (full english, cereal, toast, croissants, fruit etc). We had a cooked breakfast each day and it was delicious. Compliments to the chef/s and other breakfast staff!

My room was functionally clean and comfortable. There was a double wardrobe with hangers, desk with drawers, (more than enough space for my stuff) chair, large mirrors. wall lamps and bedside shelves both sides of the double bed. The mattress and pillows were very comfy and I slept well. the linen was spotless with more than enough towels. The small tv had a good picture. downsides: the glazing in my room was blown which makes things "look" damp. I had vertical blinds but I'd have preferred curtains. The bathroom was clean but old and looked very sad compared to the swanky shiny new suite in my friend's room. There were a couple of electric sockets above the desk but these didn't have integrated USB sockets, so you'll need your charging plug (I had taken mine) as well as cables.

Accessibility: we didn't notice a ramp, just quite steep steps to the hotel entrance, and I think you can only get to the beach by steps there, although there is a ramp that goes down as far as the access road above the beach. The hotel does have a lift.

Overall, more than happy and will definitely try to book this hotel if we come to Blackpool again. Thanks to the hotel staff for helping make our stay so enjoyable.

Hi Carol, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you were satisfied with your room and staff. Unfortunately, we only allow 2 adults per room so would be unable to book a triple room for 3 adults. If you give reception a call they will be able to assist you further. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us a review.

Last minute one night booking via the hotels website.

Easy website to book, looked great on the website. Upon arrival had to park a few streets away as parking was full woth small limited of parking spaces, the receptionist issued out key and informed us about breakfast, polite and no complaints.

The double room with a sea room was small, the ceiling was lowered an what can only be described as an office ceiling, poor decoration and bathroom. The bed was a small double and uncomfortable.

The hotel itself smelled of tobacco, dated throughout and a very wobbly banister throughout.

The breakfast was of poor quality with clearly the cheapest of ingredients used.

We used the games room which was a nice touch and ordered drinks from the bar, the glasses were dirty and smeared and a general feel about the place of being dirty and lack of passion for the leisure industry.

We will not be returning to this hotel unless there is a major investment and improvement throughout. I wish the hotel luck as it does have potential.

Hi Kez, Thank you for your review. I'm disappointed that your stay didn't meet our usual standards. We acquired the hotel in April and since than have worked tirelessly to improve the guest experience and upgrade the bedrooms. Over the next few months we will commence refurbishment in the hotel and will invest heavily in our bedrooms. Feedback like yours helps us to continue to shape the way we work and thank you for leaving us a review. I hope we can welcome you back again in the near future.

We stayed at Bluewater hotel as a family of 4(2 adults, 2 children age 4 and 11). Check in and out was easy. We paid 170 pounds for a suite in room 1 with breakfast which was good although the location was 1 mile away from central pier. We really liked the suite as we wanted extra room with 2 children on bottom floor isolated in the corner. We used the pool £20 for 1 hour(4 of us) good , paid £12 parking for our 2 nights stay. Overall it was enjoyable stay and I would like to visit Bluewater again and definitely worth more than 2 stars!

Quite possibly the worst hotel I’ve ever been to, rude manager spoke to his staff terribly. bar staff and housekeeping were very friendly and helpful.
Food was awful they need a proper chef cooking real food.

I find it outrageous that you have to pay for parking (£5 per night and if you move your car after paying there’s a chance you could lose your space and have to park miles away anyway), and the pool when it is advertised on the website of the hotel I’ve never been to a hotel where you’ve had to pay to use the pool especially if you’ve already paid for your room etc.

It is very dated and I think the manager needs to sort the hotel and get it into order all of the faulty furniture, showers, taps, toilets etc.

Honestly I would never pay the price they charge to stay here there are many other hotels cheaper and better value for money, I would avoid this hotel.

Stayed with my friend for 2 nights in this hotel. We wanted a double room for some reason we got a room with a small double bed and a bunk bed. The furniture and room itself is just simply outdated and makes a lot of noise when opening/closing. TV was very small (not that it matters to us but for people with poor eyesight it wouldn’t be suitable). Ceiling looked yellow and looked like someone had been smoking in there for years on end. There was some kind of red substance which I can summarise was blood on part of the wall and inside of the wall lamp. The shower water wasn’t warm and the toilet isn’t suitable if you have hip problems - as the toilet roll is quite far behind you and you have to be an acrobat to reach it (I’m 29 and I struggled). They have a lift but it only fits 2 people and has a metal shutter which flings itself back at you at a moments notice, so be mindful of that as there’s no signs that we could see warning of that. The bed lining itself and the room smelled clean. Just wasn’t what we was expecting from the photos and reviews that had been posted online.

Hi. I want to begin by saying I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Firstly they have no disabled access or help available for the elderly. The lift in hotel is very dangerous with a grill inside which seems to be on a spring and springs back. Very dangerous for kids. The hotel rooms were below standard with furniture being broken and very old. Light switches for wall lights were situated behind pillows on the bed. One mattress on the bed was way to big. It was hanging over bed by about 4 inches each side of single base. Shower heads were covered in mould and could not be used. Was reported to reception on Friday when we arrived. We’re told it would be sorted and cleaned the following morning but still hadn’t been cleaned on Monday morning when we were leaving. Meals were ok but seemed like kids portions. Hotel had no entertainment for the duration of our weekend stay which was advertised as entertainment every night. We paid a lot of money for this trip and had sort of entertainment at all. Although the hotel was below standard the staff were really polite and friendly. I will not be returning to this hotel and would recommend that people don’t waste their money. It’s definitely not worth it
