Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had booked and paid for this hotel on booking.com before checking the reviews - bad move. The reviews really put a downer on the excitement of getting away for a few days!! When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised, no smell of urine.. or it’s been masked by the very strong plug In air freshener at the entrance. Rooms were very small, not like the pictures but clean and had everything you needed. The man who welcomed us wasn’t very welcoming, he gave us our room key, wifi password and left us too it which suited us & will suit anyone who just wants to do their own thing and isn’t too fussed about hospitality.

This hotel is cheap and I wouldn’t say cheerful but, clean! Perfect for a short break but if you have very high standards probably not for you

Stayed for 3 nights with my Mum and 17yr old daughter, last minute booking . A small hotel but very clean and well run. Cannot fault Julie’s breakfast! She couldn’t do enough for us every morning, lovely home cooked food. Julie wanted to please us with her cooking skills, including gorgeous pancakes after a full cooked breakfast! I had a lovely omelette the last morning which wasn’t on the menu but Julie asked if we liked omelettes and I love them ! I wasn’t disappointed!
Very central hotel, easy walking distance to shops bars and the sea front. Would recommend for 1-3 nights only as the rooms are small, but cosy ! Hot water in mornings and tea time for showering. Tea and coffee facilities provided.
Enjoyed our stay in Blackpool 👍

My son and I had an extremely pleasant experience at the Adren hotel!!
The family that run the Arden’ were very welcoming and happy to accommodate any of our requests and queries. Yes the room was quite small but, perfectly clean and a fantastic wee em suite with a great shower.
It was perfect for us!!
And we will definitely be returning there again

Be careful when staying here. I got charged twice before I had even got there even though it states that you pay when you arrive. It then took 5 days of phone calls, emails and speaking to them face to face and them lying to me saying it was a mistake and done because they were so busy and will be back in my bank the next day (for the 5 days) and us refusing to leave the hotel to get my money back (we were the ONLY people staying in the hotel for the 3 days we were there so couldn't have been that busy) The Rooms were smaller than they looked in photos, there was hardly ever any staff around, and even when they were they didn't speak much English to understand what was going on anyway. Its's more like an apartment than a hotel really, no bar open unless you rang and asked them, no breakfast unless you rang them, nobody was there to greet us when we first got there, we were stood outside ringing a number on the door that they left and didn't even answer. Over all it wasn't a good stay and I for one will not be staying there again

Recently booked this hotel or b&b? This was advertised as b&b with reception and children's play area. Arrived early and spoke to a nice lady who said she was cleaning the rooms and gave us a key and said come back after 2. When we got back went to room i thought it was a bit unusual that there was no reception and no one around so we just went to our room. Next morning read the info in the room which said breakfast served from 8.45 to 9.30 went down no one was there said ring the bell but there was no bell. Found a phone number and rang it to be told we don't do breakfast when we tried to explain that it was a b&b was told by a very rude man that WE DON'T DO Breakfast ever! although the reviews said they did. He put the phone down and when I tried to call back to ask what to do with the key he wouldn't answer so in the end I had to leave a message to let them know I had left the key in the room. The room was clean but needed some attention but is in a very noisy main road. Do not book this b&b/hotel i could of got cheapest with breakfast included and without the rude attitude. It also said it had a bar but it was closed and I would of forgiven that because of covid but not the breakfast don't advertise as a B&B if you are not just say room only.

Came with my friend for 2 nights . Met by a foreign young man who was nice enough and showed us the room . The room was so small me and my friend were under each other’s feet and couldn’t get ready . Says on signs in hotel and website that there’s a bar , breakfast served and other facilities but none of these exist which is misleading . Me and my friend didn’t feel that safe in the room as it was so noisy in the hotel and doors don’t lock properly and someone from the other side can easily put a key in and open so we put loads of things in front of the door to stop entry . No one around to check out so left key in room .

My partner booked an overnight stay initially for the 7th August 2021, so we could go watch the Dirty Dancing show, unfortunately due to cast members getting COVID the show was cancelled. My partner rang the hotel to see if we could move to the 21st August, because we had rebooked to go then. He was advised to contact booking.com to cancel at their end and they to call back and they will sort a room when they receive correspondence. My partner has proceeded to email both the hotel and booking.com, spoken to someone at the hotel on a couple of occasions, who was promised a call back, and we’ve received nothing back from booking.com, other then a link asking how was our stay, and no call back from the hotel. We lost the money via booking.com, even though my partner explained he didn’t want to cancel, but was advised by the hotel to cancel it. I think it is absolutely despicable how you have behaved as a business. In difficult times when people are reluctant to book things because of Covid, times when you should be doing everything in your power to get bookings and you repay a customer that took a risk like this. We didn’t choose to cancel, that was taken out of our hands, as if our weekend plans weren’t already ruined, we then had to be out of pocket as a result. I would expect some correspondence back explaining why both email and telephone correspondence was ignored?! P Palmer

Booked to stay here recently but couldn't go due to covid, we thought we were doing the right thing by getting in touch with Booking.Com to say we can't go, we didn't want to pass on the virus to other people staying, Booking.Com were really understanding and said they will get in touch with this hotel for a refund, The hotel said they won't refund us and will charge the £80 booking fee, they were supposed to take it after a few days but took it within the hour! I think that's unfair, won't stay here in future, thought we were doing the right thing but obviously not.

Room appeared like a 'brothel. Was put in a room with private on the door with key code. Decorated black and purple very badly paint splashed everywhere, 4 beds as booked double bed having two different divan bases, garden and office furniture in the room. Fireplace with pile of ash in. No dustbin or towels like provided in other rooms.
Received a text before arriving about paying a £40
deposit, as honest people we gave this on arrival without being asked. Upon leaving owner no where to be seen at all, contacted all numbers and none even ringing through. Checked around all building to find an elderly man in the private room next door to us who did not speak English, spent around 1 hour looking around trying to contact owner.
Cameras in the hall way. Left property then decided to return to leave the key to our friends room, upon returning the owner and his partner arrived back and we asked him for the deposit back said he can check the room if he wishes. Room checked and happy they went into their private room and locked the door (this door has been open our whole stay).
Gave him 5 minutes then we knocked and made him come out and bank transfer the deposit as he clearly had spent the cash we had gave him and was hoping we would not be wanting it back.
Money received but if we had not persevered with this we would not have got it.
Did us for the weekend stay but very very poor appearance compared to other rooms and service terrible.

Response from owner to my review on Booking.com (which didn’t add the below images): claims that room is completely new and we have 1 dining table and chairs to sit around it (only 1 desk chair - not suitable for ‘dining’). ‘So much hard work to make the room with good design, new bathroom and dining area’ - paint splashed all over the place including on the hand soap bottle on the sink and all over the light switches and windows, no care taken what so ever to make this a ‘new room’.

Absolute hell hole.Do not book this place as it’s a scam ( as stated in previous reviews) we were dismayed at the state of the building on arrival and is absolutely nothing like the pictures. After finally getting someone to answer the door was met by a very aggressive and threatening Eastern European and his partner. Both were intimidating and when I asked to view room was told ‘ that’s why we hate people like you coming here (English!) ‘. A verbal altercation followed which caused me to leave the premises. The hotel is filthy and smelt of stale urine
It states when booking you pay on arrival however they took money 3 days prior to arriving and we still are unable to get a refund. We had to book into an alternate hotel which was lucky as Blackpool was fully booked due to the Rebellion weekend.
Please do not allow these people to scam you out of taking your money. A man in flat opposite shouted don’t bother going in it’s a scam!
We will continue to fight to get our money back but just want to ensure no one has their holiday spoilt like ours could have been .
Absolute dump… Also have reported to Blackpool council so hopefully will not be allowed to continue trading

Thank you for your mail . I do have a couple of spaces for cars available to me you would need to inform me when booking that you wish to reserve one they are charged at £5.00 per night and there is also a car park just 5 minutes walk away which is also £5.00 for 24 hour stay . Yes there are towels in your room and hair dryers & tea/coffee making facilities , you can find more info on my hotel web page. should you have any more questions please do do hesitate in contacting me. regards Christine
