Craig Manor Hotel garners compliments for its immaculate rooms and high-quality toiletries, with the cleanliness aspect particularly standing out for guests. The staff's warm demeanor and attentive service are frequently mentioned, though there have been occasional comments about timeliness. The hotel's modern amenities and terrace with lake views are often praised, but opinions on the value offered are split. While the rooms boast stylish decor and up-to-date bathrooms, some guests have pointed out issues with size and noise. Its prime location near Lake Windermere is a highlight for many visitors.

We have just returned from the Craig Manor after another lovely stay. The Hotel has a perfect location being a short stroll into Bowness or Windermere but far enough away from the summer crowds. Since we were last there, over a year ago, all the rooms have now had a refurb with new carpets, wall paper, TV and lighting and it’s really improved the level of the rooms. There are now sanitizers, screens and a one way system around the hotel due to COVID but we didn’t find this over the top. There are also some changes to the breakfast buffet (no longer self serve) but still very good! We were allocated a room at the front of the Hotel this time and we were a little concerned about the noise level from the road, but all was fine and it was quiet after 10pm. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was excellent with plenty of choices. We stayed with our dog and there was a overnight charge for this but this is in line with all other hotels in the area. Lastly, I would like to say the main asset to this hotel has to be all of its lovely staff who go over and above what’s is required to make sure all guests are happy. We will certainly be returning.

We stayed at Craig Manor for a couple of nights on the ‘first look’ offer, we stayed in a dog friendly room overlooking the lake(well gardens and rugby field, with a glimpse of the lake) the room was very clean and had a good choice of complementary tea, coffee etc. Breakfast was included and we were allocated a table just outside the main restaurant as we had our dog with us, this didn’t bother us as we understood about the dog not being allowed in the main restaurant. Breakfast was great, lots of choice. The hotel is ideally situated between Windermere and Bowness, and had on site parking which is always a bonus. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. And the hotel was very covid aware, with hand sanitizer and a one way system in place. We had a great stay and will not hesitate in booking again

We stayed at the 'Craig Manor Hotel' for three nights in a 'Manor' room. The hotel is well located between Bowness and Windermere. The positives are that the breakfasts are excellent with a good choice of cereals, fruit juice and freshly prepared hot food, although there was no evening meal option. The views from the dining room are brilliant. The staff are welcoming and attentive, particularly in the dining room. The negatives are that the rooms are not serviced and there is no lift. We stayed in a 'Manor' room which we found disappointing. The toilet seat was mis-matched and the cover fell off twice. The, over bath, shower screen lacked a seal and so the water leaked all over the floor. We complained and were offered another room where the bathroom ceiling sloped to such a degree that you had to stoop over the wash basin to clean your teeth. Also, the over large plug did not fit the sink, so the water drained away as you were trying to shave. If you do decide to stay here, I would recommend that you book a 'Lord and Lady of the Manor' room with a view of the gardens and lake, but bear in mind that there is no lift and the rooms are not serviced during your stay. If I were the Manager of this hotel, I would spend a night in each of the 'Manor' rooms in turn to check that each room met my high standards. It doesn't cost a fortune to repace a toilet seat or a shower screen seal, but patrons have a right to expect the basics to be in place, sadly, in our case, they were not.

Booked for two nights New Year’s Day looking forward to a break.
On entrance of the hotel it looked dated and tired, our room with on the ground floor.
Tread bare carpets which also needed hoovering, old furniture, scuffed walls, broken window latch, curtains hanging off the pole, shaving light in the bathroom and radiator not working the list goes on some TLC needed.
Breakfast .... buffet breakfast ..... ordered fresh poached egg which came hot.
Young lady serving breakfast was very good
Paid extra for a lake view this was very poor view at the back of the hotel over looking the car park really expected more at £120 per night and wouldn’t stay again.
The hotel is closing in January for a refurbishment which is well overdue

We have stayed at this hotel before, we visited on the day it re opened after lockdown for 5 nights.
The hotel is in a lovely position between Bowness and Windermere and has a car park which you can always get a space in ( a big bonus in the Lakes).
We had a standard room facing the road, as it was warm we had the windows open all the time and the road is noisy. I would advise if you don’t want this get a lake view room as these are at the back of the hotel.
The room was clean, the rooms have been re decorated but do have old furniture and the bathrooms have not been changed.
We had plenty of storage space for 2 of us and the room was clean, I am glad they are back to cleaning the rooms each day.
The staff were all friendly you had to book a time for breakfast, and it is now served to you rather than the buffet they used to offer which is a shame I hope the buffet will return. We also had evening meal in the restaurant a few times and the food is lovely.
My only negative is for some reason they don’t like to give you normal tea bags with the drinks selection if you like fruit teas they are stocked but I had to ask at reception and leave the cleaners a note just to get some ordinary ones ( bit of a pain when they happily re stocked the cookies each day)
This hotel is good value for money, the lakes is expensive, and we have not found another hotel for the same price which is better than this for location, car parking and food quality.

We have arrived back home only Yesterday from our holiday and felt I had to let everyone know just how wonderful our stay at the Craig Manor Hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere as been. We were slightly concerned about how the hotel would be implementing the social distancing rules and what precautions they had put in place to keep themselves and guests safe during this pandemic. But we were reassured as soon as we entered the hotel. All the staff were wearing visors and there were markings on the floor directing us in a one-way system. The hotel as recently had had a renovation and everything looked fresh and clean. We had spent a wonderful week with them last year so we were really looking forward to our break. When we were given our room I had not specified a bath which I wanted and our room only had a shower. I went down to the Reception and spoke to Anca, the Receptionist. I explained our predicament. She went out of her way to resolve the issue and the following day we arrived back from our day out to find we had been given a new room and all our possessions had been moved into it for us.The room was beautifully decorated and smelt of fresh paint. It had double windows which looked out onto the garden. The bed was a Kingsize with crisp white bedding. The Restaurant is fantastic. They do a cracking Breakfast, with a choice of cereals. Fresh fruit salads,Melons, fresh fruit. Full cooked breakfast with various egg options,Danish Pastries and endless toast,Tea and Coffee. We had 3 evening meals and they were all divine. But once again the thing that stood out for us was the service received from the staff. The Receptionists, Anca, Marta and Karen. All went out of their way to welcome us and make sure we were happy. Jason the Restaurant Manager and all the dining room staff who are all so efficient and polite, nothing was too much trouble for them. George who runs the bar,he always served us with a smile. We have booked to go back in September and cannot wait.

We stayed at the Craig Manor yesterday for 1 nights stay. We arrived at 1.30pm and was able to check in early which was brilliant as it was raining and we wanted to freshen up. Receptionist very polite friendly and helpful. We were handed a voucher for some treats as we booked via the hotel itself. Room great size and clean. We used the treat upon our return from out shopping and were delighted with what came out, a hot chocolate and treats it was a very pleasant treat. Nice touch! We stayed for dinner at the hotel and everybody was friendly and very helpful. Hand sanitiser everywhere for you to use, and food seated apart from others it was great. Dinner was delicious ive attached some pics. We had blackpudding scotch egg and pate to start. And main was steak and ale pie and supreme chicken. We couldn't fit a dessert in. Breakfast time was a great window of 8-10 am and check out 11. Fantastic time window. Breakfast again was delicious nothing was to much trouble as we asked for extra toast. Will definitely be returning great location, 5 minutes walk either up to windemere or down to bowness great hotel.

We stayed in a manor room for 2 nights. I couldn’t fault the room it was spotless With our booking we were given a voucher for the hotel bar for 2 glasses of Prosecco and a cake which we had on arrival. The hotel Is following the Covid guidelines. Hand sanitizer is all around the hotel also there’s a one way system that everyone was abiding by. The staff were very friendly and a credit to the hotel.
The only fault I have is we booked this hotel due to having a bar and we knew we’d have trouble getting into bars due to going into a bank holiday weekend but the bar closed early. Didn’t put us off and I would definitely stay here again.

Spent 2 nights here with our friends. Can’t find any fault with this hotel at all. We were greeted by Anka the receptionist who was happy and very helpful, as were the rest of the staff during our stay. Everywhere was Spotlessly clean with hand sanitiser points located throughout the hotel, and all staff adhering to Covid19 procedures. Stunning views from the restaurant and conservatory area. We ate in the restaurant one evening, the food was exceptional and reasonably priced too. You can see why the locals choose to eat here. Fantastic location between Bowness & Windermere with the bus stop just outside. Can highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again.

We booked Craig Manor in May 2021 for May 2022 and I’m so glad we did as Wow, what a Hotel. It was amazing from the minute we arrived. The Receptionist was so lovely and friendly and whilst we waited for our rooms to be ready, she was showing us around other room types.
Our rooms, once we could check in, were perfect, Me and my Hubbie had The Lord Of the Manor Room and my sister and her children had an amazing family room, beautiful views of the lake from our rooms and the rooms were spotless and had everything you needed.
The hotel has an amazing bar area and I have to give a very special mention to Valarie…. 🥰 She was just amazing, a real credit to the hotel. I was sadly poorly the whole time we were away (full of flu and a cough), and Valarie really looked after me, doing me Hot Toddies, which really hit the spot 👌

The Hotel’s breakfast was gorgeous, plenty of options and a fab choice of cooked options and the happiest, most helpful waiting on staff… super super friendly, again another credit to the Hotel. ✅
My Hubbie asked if he could have an omelette one morning, even though this was not on the menu, but the wonderful chef was only too happy to oblige, and boy what a yummy omelette it was…. My Hubbie said it was Absolutely delicious,

The Hotel is within around 7 mins walk to all the main shops, bars and restaurants and about 10 mins walk to the boats at Bowness so it really is a perfect location.
It’s set in beautiful grounds with picnic tables on their own garden area at the back, and it’s so quiet and peaceful.

We have already booked to come back next year and this time we are bringing All our Family with us, as we told them all what a fab place this is, so they all agreed to book Craig Manor for next year, so we can’t wait to return again.

Thanks to you all, And we look forward to seeing you all next year,
Regards,
Sue, Dave and Sister and Kids ❤️
