No standing on ceremony at the Oak Bank; it's a friendly easy going place with comfortable beds and a 5-STAR restaurant. If Grasmere is on your Lake District itinerary then stay here and enjoy some the finest food around. The quail and the venison are outstanding, and the wine list has something for everyone's taste. Go there - you won't... More

Can't praise this hotel enough. From walking through the door you are made to feel very welcome. We stayed on the top floor with wonderful views across the rooftops to the fells. The room is well planned and there is ample storage space and hangers. Toiletries are good quality and the towels are huge! The food is superb. Good choice,... More

We are very much torn between shouting the praise for this lovely hotel from the rooftops and keeping quiet so as to keep this gem to ourselves. We only stayed for one night to celebrate an anniversary but we came away rested and relaxed and will definitely be booking for a longer stay next time. We stayed in a Superior... More

Small ish room but enough room for us two, after all having the beautiful grasmere on your doorstep what more do you need? Service was brilliant and attention to detail was evident throughout. Restaurant dining was spot on and gorgeous. Breakfast... More

Staff was friendly and helpful, but limited in number Food was excellent, especially superb breakfast. Rooms quite nice. Laundry was expensive, but reliable. Food service was slow, but we were a large group. Excellent location--just where you want to be!

This time we visited with friends. The hotel and food were excellent as usual. Our room had been redecorated and looked completely different. Each of the rooms is different but with all the amenities so it is not like a chain of hotels where you could be anywhere. The breakfasts were beautifully presented with a selection of prepared fresh fruit, sliced...
