Stayed here 1 night en route from South Downs. Bedroom “cells” with the prison theme very quirky and this theme continues into the dining room (tables, lighting and plates). Don’t be alarmed ! Immaculately clean, great shower and lovely fresh cooked breakfast all made for a refreshingly different and enjoyable B&B experience. Real plus point is open access to the dining room for hot drinks throughout the day and evening. Easy walk into main town centre where there are numerous eating and drinking establishments. No on-site car park but Chesil Street multi storey is just 5 minutes away. £7.30 for 24 hours. No lifts and adjacent to the road, but this is all evident from looking at their website.Paid under £100 for double room including breakfast and access to hot drinks, so very good value.

Two night stay in Winchester and the perfect place to stay. Informal and friendly b&b right next to a great pub and a Michelin star restaurant. The Black hole theme is an old jail with the room doors resembling cell doors. Don't worry, the rooms extremely comfortable with ensuite bathroom. Breakfast very nice with choices freshly cooked to order. If weather good, be sure to checkout the roof terrace. Some of the best views over Winchester. Also checkout the Black Boy pub next door. Quirky does not do it justice. One of my favourite pubs. Reccomended

The Black Hole is a brilliant B&B only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Winchester. It is expertly run by the lovely Emma. Nothing is too much trouble. The bedroom was very comfortable with a good en-suite shower. The Full English Breakfast was excellent including freshly squeezed orange juice. There is also a lovely rooftop terrace where you can relax with a drink or two!
