Great lodges that are extremely well equipped.
The hot tubs are really good and well worth paying a bit extra for.
Some lodges are dog friendly and there are accessible woods to walk the dogs. Once the golfers have finished for the day you can also get onto the course.
Be aware that the golf club often stops doing food at 4pm, but the lunchtime menu was good and very good value.

The attention to detail was spot on. From supplying cooked breakfast products, milk, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, clothes airer and a bath mat... all the essentials plus more were there. It far exceeded our expectations. The owners did not skimp on luxury, even the beds were extremely comfortable which is a bonus. The accommodation was beautiful, spacious, yet cosy and we had a lovely view overlooking the putting green. The hot tub was a highlight for the whole family to relax in at the end of a busy day. The location is excellent for family outings. We would definitely return and recommend it to anyone planning to visit Winchester. The Staff were helpful and friendly.

The lodge itself was modern and spacious, four of us stayed in a six person. The tea tray included chocolate and apple juice which was a nice touch. We were informed there would be enhanced cleaning because of covid19, however there was a visable false nail beside one of the twin beds and the bath had pink smears, likely a makeup stain, which we could rub away with our fingers. The hot tub was new and spotless but could not fit six adults. Nevertheless, we would return!! :)

We first stayed at South Winchester Lodges six years ago and had no complaints which is why we returned again this year. Things have definitely gone downhill in the interim period. The lodge was clean and the hot tub was checked each day. The lounge/dining area were also spacious and comfortable. However, the rest of the lodge really needs checking. Several of the window catches did not work properly which gave a sense of insecurity overnight and wariness about personal possessions when going out in the day. The fitted kitchen area was not particularly well fitted, with the fridge and dishwasher doors almost falling off when opened. The non-en-suite bath had an overhead shower, but we think the sealant around the bath had perished because water leaked out on the floor everytime the shower was used. Also, there was insufficient shampoo and body wash for six guests staying in a lodge designed for... six guests! We had expected these to be replenished during our stay, so it's just as well we had all taken our own. Likewise, we used the putting green using the one putting club that was available at our lodge. We didn't mind sharing the club, but it did seem strange that there was only one club for six people. Ultimately, it was the cheap and/or worn out mattresses that caused all of us the most concern. Saying the mattresses were saggy and bumpy with broken springs is an understatement, meaning that none of us were able to sleep. Bearing in mind that two people in our party have back complaints, the mattresses also aggravated their condition and we found it unacceptable that such poor quality mattresses were within a lodge claiming to be five star. Indeed, if we were merely reviewing the mattresses, we would struggle to give even one star. We would like to return in future years as there is fantastic walking in the area, but we would only return with the assurance that the quality of the accommodation is worthy of the high prices charged or the prices are significantly reduced if no improvements are made.

Stayed in Lodge 1 can't fault it. We were a group of 4 adults aged (30-35) we loved it. Everything was so clean the Hot tub had a dirt mark on the side we called room Services and a lady tested the water and wiped the sides again, really good customer service as I have ocd and she really did ensure I was happy that it was clean. Apart from that the lodge was very clean. Kitchen was super clean too. There is a golfing area on site and each lodge has its own golf clubs. The tub is on throughout the whole stay no time limits etc. There is a nearby Aldi, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose within 2 miles so if you forget anything don't worry. There is a Pizza Hut near by who deliver. The only negative is that there is no shelter over the Hot tub. English weather is very unpredictable so the two nights we were there was wet and raining but we still went in however this is something we all felt would of been better. I Definately will recommend if you just want to relax.

Very nice peaceful area. The lodges are highly appointed and spotless. Hot tub was a must the water was tested daily and it was emptied and refilled before we had even left. Staff courteous and helpful. Our dishwasher leaked we reported it and it was replaced the next day. Excellent customer service. So good we are going back to stay over the new year.

Just back from our second stay at South Winchester Lodges. I must say that the standard and cleanliness of the lodge was excellent. Given the current pandemic, the staff are clearly going the extra mile to try and ensure the accommodation is spotless.
We had a couple of very small issues that were quickly taken care of with no fuss.
If possible, booking a lodge with jacuzzi is a real bonus, and a great way to spend some time.
Would not hesitate to recommend and am already planning next visit.

We booked 4 nights here as a family mainly for a trip to peppa pig world. Check in was contactless and smooth, we were impressed with the size and the luxury of the lodge. The hot tub was well maintained throughout the duration of our stay. We had all the homely comforts we could want, even had the use of a washing machine which saved the huge washing pile when we got home.
Lodges are within 30 minutes of the main attractions nearby.
We will be booking to stay again

We spent 4 months staying in one of the lodges while our house was being renovated. We were there with our two young children (3 and 5 years old).
The lodge was very spacious, clean and had all the facilities needed for a long let. My kids loved the den building areas and the fairy doors, and we all enjoyed having a go at putting. The location was very quiet and peaceful (especially during lockdown when there were no golfers on the golf course). All the staff were helpful and friendly. The hot tub was opened right at the end of our stay, and was also lovely.
I think the bathrooms in the lodges are ready for a refurbishment, but no other complaints.
I loved our time at the lodges and kind of miss it now we have left.

Over the years we have stayed here 7 times, this weekend we had 2 cabins next to each other for birthday celebrations
The cabins are light and spacious and always immaculately clean throughout with everything you need inside.
Each cabin is well placed so you have privacy in the hot tub
We have taken the dogs a few times and the verrander has a gate so they can't escape and there is some nice walks to do nearby with them.
My husband and son love the little putting green in the middle of the cabins
Can't fault anything and will be back to stay again
