This property is ideal for anyone visiting Southampton who is happy being a couple of miles out of the city centre. We stayed here to catch a cruise ship the following morning and it was perfect being a short 10 minute drive away from the docks. This guest house is run by very friendly owners one of which we met - Eva - who was lovely. What struck me and my girlfriend about this place was how unbelievably clean it was. The entire hotel is cleaned to a very high standard, and the rooms look lovely. They also do a smashing breakfast which was lovely with cereals, pastries, yoghurts and juices which you are free to help yourself to. Also lovely to have a big TV, desk and a proper bathroom in the room too (not just a shower).
The only negatives were that me and my girlfriend both found the pillows quite hard and the bed not the most comfortable. The duvet was also quite stuffy and not very breathable. This is all something easily fixed, and we were able to sleep - it just wasn’t the most comfortable of beds. The bed was also very creaky on the slightest of movements and walls quite thin, but thankfully no other guests were particularly noisy, The guest house is not in the nicest of areas and parking is very tight in front of the building, but none of this is anything that could be changed and is to be expected I suppose being in the suburbs of a city.
Despite the bed being not the most comfortable I would definitely stay here again if I needed to stay in Southampton again. Fab breakfast, ideal location, lovely staff and a very clean hotel.

I spent two calming nights at the Regent Guest House in January while my daughter was having major surgery. It was 15 minutes walk from the General Hospital or a 5 minute bus ride from a stop just minutes away. The rooms were spotless, the breakfasts were generous and the staff were very helpful. I was able to park there or on the street. I would certainly stay there again.

Stayed here as we went to Winchester Market. Checked out prices closer to Winchester but they were very expensive. Decided to check out surrounding areas and found this accomadation at 11 miles away. What a fabulous find.. Easy to book and check in. Our room was comfortable and immaculately clean. The host was extremely helpful and suggested places close by to go for an evening meal.. After having a lovely nights sleep we went to breakfast which was included in the very reasonable price. Again we weren't disappointed. The choice and quality was second to none. We do go away very often and I have to say " This is one of the nicest and most reasonably priced placed we have ever stayed"
Thank you to everyone at the Regents Guest House, you provide an amazing service that I would definitely recommend.

We suffered a very sudden family bereavement a week before the booking. I booked at non refundable rate admittedly, but the staff were unwilling to be flexible in cancelling or moving the date. At a very distressing time there was a complete lack of empathy or flexibility. I offered to pay a higher rate for any change to compensate for inconvenience at making amendments but they refused and simply pointed me back to the policy.
It showed a distinct lack of care which was upsetting and while I understand the need to protect the business from time wasters, I was very earnest and polite and willing to pay more. This fell on deaf ears.
I will never look to stay at the guest house again when I am in the area.

I stayed at The Regent for 2 weeks while visiting my wife in Southampton General Hospital, about a mile away. I had a spacious, comfortable room overlooking the garden, which guests could use.
Breakfast was good. I usually had the poached smoked haddock on brown toast, excellent cafetière coffee, sugar-free muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit, juice & toast. This set me up for the day.
Friendly & helpful staff.
The guest house was conveniently situated: nearby newsagent, shopping centre with large Sainsbury supermarket, Lloyds Pharmacy, Wilco etc. There were also frequent buses into the city centre & train station.
Of interest to military buffs, the owner keeps in the front a Humvee, which had seen service in Iraq.

The guest house was really nice, very clean and pleasant rooms. The staff made us welcome and were friendly and helpful. Sadly we hadn't come for a short break but for our fifteen year old granddaughter to have an operation at Southampton General hospital. We chose the Regent as it was within walking distance of the hospital. At the time of booking we explained that my wife and daughter might get accommodation at the hospital hotel as they were sharing the care. As we had not had the hospital accommodation confirmed, I booked an extra night for them as I was returning home home the next day. Two hours later the hospital confirmed that they had a vacant room so I asked if I could cancel because I was not going to be staying. I was told I could not but to ask the manager in the morning. She also said no. Of course in relation to our granddaughter's health the money was not important, but we found the unsympathetic attitude upsetting at a time when we were extremely anxious about the outcome of the operation.

Small but perfectly formed and more than adequate for my needs. I received a warm welcome from Warwick and learned all about his bee keeping and got to buy the honey. The room has lots of little touches like a luggage rack, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, different lighting options, a fan and basic toiletries. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet, the shower was nice and warm, lovely towels and a good TV and WiFi. As a solo traveller, I'd recommend it. I also had a spot to park and the breakfast was tasty and service was really friendly. Perfect spot for visits to Southampton and the port.

From the start this establishment ensured we would be looked after during our stay. They remained in contact before we arrived to make sure everything was ok or address concerns.
The place has 6 parking spaces and there is easy free parking outside on the road.
The property itself is lovely. The room was spacious with the bathroom also being spacious too with an amazing power shower.
The place was lovely and warm, very clean and staff friendly too.
Breakfast was lovely and big.
This was a very well run guest house, and the owners and staff take a lot of pride in the work and customer satisfaction. A very professional setup and it was very impressive. A great 2 nights stay. Throughly recommend choosing this place than any other is Southampton, as I don’t think you can get much if any better.

Great B and B accommodation before a cruise
Very nice, clean rooms, lovely breakfast and helpful, friendly staff.
The local restaurants are fine and 10 minute walk, or you can take taxi to city and port for other options
It’s a 15 minute text from port.
Check out is 10.30 and there is a lovely, spacious lounge and garden where you can sit while waiting for taxi
Highly recommend

You quickly notice that the staff put a lot of love and attention to detail into their work, as if each of the nice ladies were the boss of the accommodation. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and you are always greeted with a kind word. The rooms are bright and clean, the shower works great. The bed is also clean and comfortable.
I think it's great that the towels aren't changed every day; here, in addition to cleanliness, the environment is not ignored.
All in all, a very good accommodation at a good price which I would happily use again if necessary!

There is a dining room where breakfast is served...I’m sure they’d prefer you eat there (if food is allowed back) than to n your room!
Hi,
If you use a local taxi ( 02380 666666) it is about £15.00 from the airport to us. If you use the onsite taxi desk it is about £25.00.
From our place to the terminal is about £9.00 by taxi.
Hope this helps
