Couldn’t think of a single niggle, this was just superb for our 2 night stay. Total wind down for the 2 of us and our dog.

It has:

Friendly atmosphere & welcome| dog friendly rooms and eating area | plentiful free parking on site | great selection of beers | divine food and high end presentation and taste | outside beer garden with secure gate | 2 min walk past the local churchyard takes you to some beautiful scenery, great to let dog off lead | complete peace and quiet with very little traffic | warm and welcoming with lovely interior.

Can’t vouch for the other rooms but ours had a roll top bath with shower on the other side with screen between. Ultra comfortable bed.

Will definitely re-visit. Lovely!!

We stayed in the "Madam Tynings" room at the top of the pub, during a heatwave! The room was clean, stylish and modern with the most amazing bathroom with a massive freestanding bath and shower you can walk in from both sides. As it's in the roof of a very old building, there's a lot of charaacter beams and the doors require you to bend down quite a lot if you're tall! Having said that I managed two nights without cracking my head once...

The room had a modern Smart TV, nice toiletries and a Nespresso machine and capsules. Wifi was reasonably good considering you're out in the countryside.

Although it was in the roof, the room was cool enough with the windows left open even in summer temperatures, although this means you do hear the extractor fans from the kitchen until the kitchen shuts down later in the evening. Apart from that there is good noise insulation from the pub downstairs, and the clientele are not rowdy partygoers anyway!

The welcome and service throughout was friendly and prompt, and they were doing their best with the COVID restrictions. Breakfast was table service from a wide menu - not just the usual full English although you could blast that if you wanted - we had amazing Eggs Royale one morning. The food in general was very good - we ate at the pub both evenings we stayed, once on the pizza terrace and once in the restaurant (which has the full menu available). Being able to wander back upstairs after dinner and a few glasses of wine is a lovely luxury.

There's a reasonable amount of parking out the back, or you can park on the road if that is full.

There's good walking from the front door (the Fosse Way Roman Road is about 15 mins walk away), there's the picturesque market town of Tetbury, and other Cotswold attractions nearby.

We really enjoyed our weekend away and would be very happy to return!

What a find! We are in the Cotswolds for a few days (plus Golden Retriever) so needed to find somewhere to eat which is dog friendly. Google search...Cat and Custard Pot Inn...thanks!
From the minute we pulled into the car park we were welcomed with friendly, helpful and totally obliging staff. We had a quick drink before ordering sausage and mash and pork belly. Both meals were full of flavour and excellent value for money. My partner followed with a sticky toffee pudding (he actually makes one of the best I have tasted) and he said it was better than his! This was accompanied by a superb homemade maple and walnut ice cream.
If you are lucky enough to be passing anywhere near Shipton Moyne, make sure you visit this wonderful village inn with wonderful staff.

+ The Cat and Custard Pot is set against a lovely rural landscape in the beautiful cotswolds. There are some great walks nearby. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with good quality meat, freshly ground coffee and they were able to cater to a wide variety of needs. The Pub was beautifully maintained with a nice seated area outside, perfect during Covid times.

- The bathroom was a bit small and door doesn’t have a lock.

The friendly and efficient team made this a very pleasant one-night break. We had dinner sitting outside in the sunshine - all good but I especially loved the heritage tomato starter. Full English breakfast was outstanding with every element delicious. Our bedroom was called Home Guard and was comfortable, well-appointed and delightfully quirky with a sloping ceiling to the shower in the bathroom. WiFi was fast. We said we would return and to our surprise we were back for a lunch a week later. This was to collect a phone charger we had left during our stay (thanks for locating it Quinton). The lunch was tasty: mackerel pâté and a cheesecake dessert. Thank you to the server who recommended the walk across the fields beyond the church.

First time staying here and what a find! A lovely, cosy inn tucked away in the village of Shipton Moyne - just perfect for visiting Tetbury, a haven for antique shops, Westonbirt Arboretum and Highgrove.
On a grey, damp November weekend the bedroom was so cosy, the bathroom enormous with roll top bath and wetroom and a proper coffee machine not just the usual kettle!
Food and service both very good with what seemed to be a fairly new attached pizzeria as an additional option.
Would definitely recommend and will definitely return here in the future.

The food, bedroom and staff were all amazing during our stay here. Unfortunately as a young couple, we didn’t really get listened to by the manager when we needed the lock on our door fixing. From the inside we couldn’t lock the door, so when we were inside our room, it was open to anyone. The place is very secure so it wasn’t a security issue but more just privacy. We told the manager on the Saturday evening when we arrived that the lock was broken and there was no effort made to fix it at all during our two night stay, despite us reminding him several times. We had to barricade the door at night due to me being so anxious and it did really affect our overall stay. We had the gorgeous room with the bath which i was especially excited for, but didn’t get to share the experience with my partner as he had to sit by and guard the door!! When checking out, we didn’t get any compensation or money off our stay and I have to say we were very disappointed :(. That being said, the place is absolutely gorgeous and our bedroom was stunning. The breakfast and lunch staff were consistently amazing, serving delicious food and the slightly older lady who served us breakfast on Monday and checked us out couldn’t have done anymore for us - she was fantastic!

We went to the Cat and Custard Pot today for lunch. The staff we great and chap who took our order had a good knowledge of what plates they have to offer. All three of us enjoyed our plates 2 of which was the beef burger and the other the Goat cheese and spinage cakes which is the dish we would recommend. After food we sat outside in the beer garden and finished the drinks which is a great little garden and can imagen a great area to relax in the evening under the lights and outdoor heating keeping the chill off, We look forward to calling again.

The meal we had at the Cat and Custard pot was outstanding ! The portions were generous , the quality was fresh , and the wine we chose was first class . The service however was rather on the slow side , but when our main meals arrived , they were well worth the wait ! Will definitely return next time we are in the Cotswolds.

Some friends and I called in for a late Sunday Lunch we were not disappointed, we found the staff to be friendly & attentive. The food was delicious, I had the Roast Pork and my friend’s both had the Roast Sirloin of Beef, good sized meals very well cooked and presented. The atmosphere and setting are lovely and made for a great end to our afternoon. We were also impressed by the look of the new covered outside space with a Pizza oven and a great menu, so when the weather is better we’re definitely coming back 👍
