Welcome to the Mousetrap Inn in Bourton on the Water a high quality, reliable dining pub that is open for everyone - locals, visitors, families, parties and dogs. Our Inn has 10 rooms and is open all day every day. We recently refurbished all of our 10 rooms with new mattresses, bedding, soft furnishings and original artworks. As a Freehouse with a well stocked cellar, we are showcasing the best of the region’s craft ales and beers as well as an interesting wine list and a menu that uses as many local suppliers as possible. In winter our log fire, sofas and game selection invites you to stay a bit longer in the comfort and warmth. Join us for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, Sunday Roast and everything in-between. We offer coffee, cakes, loose leaf teas and organic tea blends. Of course if you fancy a glass of Prosecco we can help with that one too. We are looking forward seeing you soon.

We arrived at the Mousetrap a little down hearted as we had a lovely day on my sixtieth Birthday spoilt by a disappointment at our previously booked accommodation. Our spirits soon brightened entering the warm and bustling restaurant. Very pretty, mixing modern with character.

Stayed here for a long weekend. Situated just off the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water it seemed an ideal place for a couple of quiet nights. The staff were very welcoming when we arrived on the Saturday and we booked an evening meal and Sunday lunch. My partner is vegetarian and

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I would like to take this opportunity to address some of your comments regarding our menu, the charred mackerel is cured so I can assure you it is wasn't raw though I am sorry to hear it wasn't to your taste. The crispy things which come with the market fish are shoestring fries, this is described on the menu. We are always grateful for feedback so that we can strive to improve our offer here at the Mousetrap Inn, and therefore have fully taken on board your comments regarding the seemingly small offering of vegetarian dishes on the menu. We do in fact offer a number of vegetarian and vegan alternatives to our dishes and though we try to vocalise this to our guests we have now added to our menu to ask for alternatives to avoid further disappointment in the future. I am surprised to hear that you were disappointed with the lack of veggie options for breakfast as we actually have more vegetarian options on the breakfast menu than meat. Such as Eggs Kerjiwal, Avocado and Poached eggs on toast, fresh fruit salad and hot porridge. Again we have learnt from your experience and have put a note on our breakfast menu to encourage guests to ask if there is something in particular they might like. Regarding your last comments about the rooms, I would have to agree that they are a little dated and the floorboards are a bit squeaky, this is due to the building being almost 200 years old and we try to reflect this in our prices: £85 B&B in all rooms except the junior suite which benefits from a living room and king sized bed for which the price is £95 B&B. All the rooms have brand new mattresses and have recently been painted, there is further refurbishment in the pipeline. I'm not sure if the "expensive" in the title refers to the room prices or the menu. As you were trying something new with the seitan and it turned out not to be to your taste I can understand you feeling it was costly. Our Head Chef Tom, cooks absolutely everything from fresh ingredients which are locally sourced, this does mean that we are slightly more expensive than some of our competitors down the road, however we also believe that what we offer does warrant the prices we charge which for starters range from £6-£7.50 and for mains range from £13.50 - £18.50 excluding our Sirloin steak which is £22.50 Thank you again for your review and I'm sorry that you will not be booking to come back as we would relish a second chance to meet your expectations. From all the team at the Mousetrap Inn

We have just returned from a one night stay at The Mousetrap Inn. We had a lovely time and the staff were very warm and welcoming. Our room (No. 6) was a good size, clean and perfect for our needs. We did have concerns about staying over a pub plus our room was on the road

We have just returned from a two night break at the Mousetrap. If you are looking for a large opulent room this is not the place for you. It is a charming and pretty old Cotswold pub where space is at a premium. If you are looking for fabulous food, great service, clean and
