Stayed 5 nights in a river view room, which was comfortable and spacious with plenty of storage, bathroom with shower over bath, tv, free Wi-fi very slow, basic refreshments tray and sparse toiletries. Had an issue with cleanliness of room which was rectified. Room not cleaned during stay but could request clean towels and tea etc top up. Breakfast was ok with a choice from a hot selection, no cereal or fruit but good granola pot, service efficient and friendly. The hotel has a pleasant bar and outside seating overlooking river and is a 5 minute walk to the town with great shops, restaurants and quaint bars.
The River Haven Hotel is an excellent location for walking into Rye, offers value for money and has lots of (free) parking available. The breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly. However, we booked a superior double and whilst the size of the room was good, it didn't really have a superior feel to it. The Wi-Fi was non-existent, the tv was tiny, the view wasn't as good as it appeared in the pictures and the bathroom needs a bit of updating. We also had to hand in our key everytime we left the hotel in case of a fire, which felt a bit strange and is not something I've ever been asked to do at other hotels.
Had a very good stay at River Haven Hotel. Stayed for 2 nights in a lovely ground floor room with outside patio area with table & chairs. The room was very clean and looked like it had been recently decorated with a new carpet. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Excellent location with parking, just a short walk into Rye.
Rye is a very quaint and beautiful place to visit and the River Haven is an ideal place to stay. It is a short and pleasant walk along the River Bank and you are immediately at the bottom of Mermaid Street. Our room was lovely and spacious with river view. We ate dinner in the hotel as the town was very busy and it was very good. The breakfast was also a very good standard.
We stayed for one night whilst visiting Rye. The staff are absolutely charming and extremely helpful. I was in a ground floor twin room and my friend was in a first floor double bed room. We tried to book two double bed rooms but they only had one left and a twin, which was not a problem. The room was a good size and the bed comfortable. The bathroom had a bath with shower, very acceptable. As per another review pointed out the tv is small but as I wasn’t spending any real time in my room that wasn’t a problem. The tea making facilities were very limited, it would have been nice to have a green/fruit tea alternative to Tetley and Nescafé. Also there wasn’t any bottled water in the twin but my friend in the double had two bottles of water. I personally like to use bottled water in my kettle. I went to reception and explained that housekeeping had forgotten to leave water in my room and was told that twin rooms don’t get water. That was such a shame that happened because it just doesn’t make sense as the cost of the double and the twin were the same. I didn’t complain I just purchased two bottles of water from the bar. 🤷♀️ Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and cooked very nicely.…
