Super convenient location right in the heart of Kemptown, the colourful centre of the city. Super friendly staff with a bar that hosts some wild and varied acts. Often visited by the Alphabet team it is a must for those who want an alternative experience.

Oh my days gorgeous guys and gals you truly have turned our 2023 in to something so special and will stay forever with us as it was my 50th and a year of travelling around diffrent city's, but legends soon changed that ( one of them...Crisp sheets ,great bar with adorable staff ,fantastic acts and a banging night club ) ended up staying may, September and December . As a blind man for 25 years now and well traveled I have never stayed in such a hotel so high motivated with a team dinamic amid at the customer , every day greeted with a smile and the warmness that you are welcome right from the room service lady's to the night security which truly makes you feel like a part of the legends family , enable you to relax and enjoy every moment , it was a beautiful moment to hear my gorgeous wife laughing and sounding so relaxed .you are a big team with a lot of heart and passion and Ioved every minute dont like singling out but Scott ,Bradley, Jamie , ingrid Harry , Georgian , Erica and security team ...you rock . See you all in 2024!! Lots of love Scott and Charlotte

As usual never let down by the quality or service. Checked in by Jamie this evening who was just so lovely. As he is even when I’m not staying here. My room is absolutely gorge - the price vs quality here is so customer orientated I absolutely love my room the quality is quite remarkable and the staff downstairs tonight have been incomparable. With a free show from the legend Miss Jason as well who not only packed the venue-out but bought the house down with an amazing amazing show… I feel like I’ve been spoilt. Nothing but thank you’s for my experience at Legends - fab fab fab.

I’m staggered at some of the negative reviews!! It’s been 4 years since my last stay and whilst yes, some things, post pandemic have changed…. much remains the same or better! Legends is a lovely hotel…. in a perfect location. I had Room 307 and it’s been redone lovely. Maybe not enough storage space for clothes and stuff…. but I was solo for a couple of nights and it was perfect. Breakfast remains lovely and although I suspect the help yourself buffet style continental breakfast stuff is now ordered and prepared in the kitchen (to stop greedy folk taking 6 peoples portions!!) everything I asked for came and was well presented and tasty. Parking permits increased obviously to £12.50 but that’s for 24 hours and I was lucky to nab a space right alongside the hotel. Staff were polite and helpful and my stay was just as I remember…. BRILL!! If you want a quiet, noise free stay…, do your research and avoid weekends and party seasons…. or go to the boring Premier Inn!! I had a quiet relaxing stay….. but wouldn’t have cared if it had been buzzing and rowdy…. I figure I’ll be long time dead!! Thank you all. ♥️

This is just perfect; thank you so much. We are bemused too by some of the nonsense reviews [whether genuine or not]. Fortunately we rely on the great general public to see through all this noise and reach their own conclusions, which they invariably do. Unlike the majority of hotels we will always respond The breakfast buffet was a consequence of COVID and I think our guests now prefer a more bespoke offering and the ability to choose whether to have breakfast or just secure a great room-only rate. Parking has been held at £12 for over three years and with all the physical meters now removed in the city, give guests a less irksome [and discounted] option rather than faffing around with parking apps We are so grateful to have your support and very much looking forward to your next visit. Thank you

First I have to give the hotel staff 10 points, each and every member made one feel good, from the lobby to the bar and kitchen. My room was facing the sea, with a very small bathroom, but very logical in use. The room was clean but small and I would say somewhat small for two grownups, but as I was there for 5 nights alone it was perfect for me. One can hear the vawes play with stones on the beach, when traffic slowed down in evening and night. It was warm and did not take a long time to warmup. The hotel is and has been favorte by gays as the bar and nightclub in basement has the main focus on gay customers. The only thing is one can feel and hear the nightclub on weekends, good for guests whom like to go clubbing, for me it was just fine as earplugs where provited for guests. As above I am greatful for the friendly staff. So in general a good hotel to stay in in lovely Brighton, reccomend it especially for gay clients.

I first stayed at Legends in January 2023 where I stayed in room 404 (a Classic Sea View Double on the top floor). That first Monday night stay was excellent. The room had a great view over the sea front and was super quiet. The double room was well proportioned and the en-suite new and modern. Impressed by the experience, and wanting to support an LGBT business, I booked again to stay for 2 nights Sun - Tuesday in August 2023. This time I opted for a Sea View Glimpse Single Room and was allocated room 104. On Legends website the description of the room suggested that the only difference between this room and a standard sized double was the size of the room and size of the bed - both of which I was happy to accept as being smaller. However, my experience this time was polar opposite to my first stay. I provided the feedback in this review to the hotel during my stay, and emailed the feedback after my stay - unfortunately my feedback remains unanswered. When I book a hotel I am looking for a good nights sleep - which for me means quiet room, black out blinds to keep the light out and comfy bed. Whilst the bed was comfy, the window blind did not keep sufficient light out of the room and there was a lot of noise. The noise wasn’t limited to street level noise, but regularly extended to other guests in the corridor, noise from the bar below and creaking floorboards. Had I known this may be an issue I may have paid extra for a higher floor, or opted for another hotel. When I stayed in January noise was not an issue - but I guess that’s the luck of the draw with the room position. My first impressions of the room were underwhelming - particularly as my first stay in January had left such a strong impression. I was disappointed to see the shower and toilet were effectively two repurposed cupboards. Due to the layout of the room it was impossible to open either toilet or shower door fully and it was not possible to close the toilet door whilst in use. The room lacked some practicalities I’d expect from a modern 3* hotel: - The soap dispenser at the sink was empty - There were no plug sockets to plug my phone/watch beside the bed. An extension cable plug to a bedside table would have been an easy fix here. - There was no plug socket where you could dry your hair whilst looking in a mirror - as the hairdryer did not stretch to the small mirror above the sink. Whilst I understand there are probably limited things the hotel can do to the room layout to accommodate a regular en-suite, the biggest issue was a fowl smell in the room. The musty smell was like stale water - likely caused by the shower cupboard. Knowing that seagulls regularly sit on window sills I was uncomfortable opening the window much so I just had to accept the smell. On closer inspection the shower ceiling was covered in mould. There was also a build up of dirt between the shower soap dispenser and wall - filth I was able to remove myself with minimal effort but it was evident it had been allowed to build up over time and wasn’t the work of a moment. Thus suggesting cleaning in the room was substandard. Together with the musty smell this only reinforced that hygiene and ventilation in this small room was not adequate and it reinforced my bad experience. Overall this stay felt more like a hostel than a hotel and I would rate the room at best 2* for what I paid for. The staff were courteous and the location excellent, but given the vastly different experiences between my stays it would make me hesitant to recommend the hotel to friends or to stay again. It would be good to understand if my recent stay was representative of what to expect from the hotel (and in particular from this room), or just a circumstance of my room type or timing. If you do opt for the hotel then I recommend getting a double room and requesting a higher floor.

Fantastic hotel. I stayed for two nights midweek. I was given a room on the 4th floor and unfortunately the lift broke down on my first night. It was very quiet and peaceful. The bar and entertainment is great. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are average. Breakfast is a bit disappointing. I had the full english and found the beans too sweet and the sausage poor quality. I check out today so will choose something different. So my total score is 9/10. Would have been 10/10 if lift did not break and breakfast was a little better.
