My bridal party surprised me by booking this hotel for my bachelorette weekend 24th-26th June. Customer service: 2/5 (except cleaners and reception staff who were great) Vegan-friendliness: 2/5 Allergen-friendliness: 1/5 Comfort: 4/5 Cleanliness: 4/5 Value for money: 2/5 (Overpriced, paying for location and the spa) Location: 5/5 The Good: The hotel was very well presented and clean. Everything was modern. The beds were super comfy - such a great night's sleep. There was every facility in the room (ironing board and iron, a fan, tea and coffee-making facilities and even gin and sherry decanted). The lounging areas in the spa were nice as well as the hydrotherapy pool and hot tubs. They allowed my bridesmaids to decorate the room and the reception and cleaning staff were super friendly. Staff were willing to adapt breakfast to suit vegan diet. The Bad: My main disappointment: one of my bridesmaids is allergic to dairy, eggs and nuts. At the breakfast buffet, she took milk from the milk bottle labelled 'Soya' to eat her Weetabix with. Instantly she knew something was wrong and became ill. The milk labelled 'Soya' was actually dairy. This mistake could have cost someone their life, luckily my friend reacted quickly and she was ok. What stunned me was the lack of proper apology from the restaurant staff. They did not seem to realise the gravity of their mistake. They are lucky we're not suing. Playing with someone's health is not to be taken lightly which is exactly what they did. They didn't offer her a free breakfast, discount her room or offer any other form of compensation, which I find terrible. Furthermore, the spa was a health and safety inspector's nightmare with lots of tiled steps down into different areas, a labyrinth. There were rubber mats and warning signs but I do think it's a bit dangerous. The main pool size was disappointing, could have been a bit larger. The spa was not very accommodating when our booking had been messed up, we were not sure who's fault this was. We accommodated them and not the other way round. After paying £60+ for one treatment, I don't think this was very nice customer service. They managed to amend one of our bookings which was something. Also, flip flops were not free for hotel guests, only for those paying for a spa day. I found this really stingy, I mean they are just flip flops! The bedroom (twin room with sea view) was a bit small which made it awkward to get around. I can understand if it was one of the cheaper rooms. But after paying an eye watering £318 per night for a twin room with a corner sea view, it could have been much bigger! Our bridal suite in Scotland is only costing £149 per night and that's a spa hotel too and the suite is enormous, with a four poster bed, roll top bath, balcony and sofa. I guess the North/South divide is bigger than I thought! Food is overpriced in the restaurant, no vegan options (I left lunch to go and get food elsewhere) - in Brighton of all places, I think they should get with the times and have a vegan menu or at the very least, options. No non dairy milk in the bedroom either. In summary, I think it was ok, but overpriced for what it was and I've paid much less for better hotels/spas in Surrey and London. I will definitely not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone!…
We had a lovely stay at the Brighton Harbour Hotel. The staff were friendly, welcoming & very helpful.. The hotel itself was very clean and our room was fantastic with a beautiful sea view. The added extras like access to the gym & pool, WiFi, complimentary gin and even an umbrella in our wardrobe, which thankfully we didn’t need to use during our stay were very much appreciated extra touches. I did use the spa and booked a back massage with Victoria which I have to say was the best back massage I’ve ever had & I’ve had a few in my time.. We will definitely be returning in the future.
I had a great stay, the room was so comfortable and I had an amazing nights sleep. The staff in reception and the bar were very helpful and friendly at all times. Especially Hannah at reception. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it everyone.
Our party of three has just returned from a 3-night break here. Our rooms were superior with window-seat seaview, very clean, well-stocked and with super-comfy Kingsize beds. Great shower and all the little extras that help to make your stay that little bit more special, i.e. robes, slippers, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, iron, complimentary water and so on. Location-wise the hotel is perfect - right on the seafront and a short walk from the Lanes and the pier. All the hotel staff we encountered from start to finish were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. The bar area is bright and colourful and comfortable to sit in with a good atmosphere. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
I booked this hotel for a team (8) meeting for 2 days with 1 overnight. First time I used this hotel and not even seen it. I was worried as I always do a rekey beforehand. The NCP car park is around 5min walk away downhill so not far. Once you have walked through the hustle and bustle of this amazing town you walk into pure indulgence, quiet, serene yet very modern and funky hotel. The 2 receptionist was extremely helpful, put my mind at rest, showed me the meeting space and introduced me to the events coordinator. The Snug was spacious with 2 large windows that opens to a back alley. There is AV equipment and we ordered 3 flipcharts. I put a few posters on the wall and the team arrived. Everyone was very satisfied with the space despite the occasional sounds outside. lunch was served and it was out of this world. Luca and his team couldn't do enough for us. Each request was met and completed fast. Check in and Payment was very fast too. The hotel is stunning inside, the beds extremely comfortable and some rooms had lovely sea views. The location is perfect, 10min walk to the BA i360 via the beach bars. Then another 5 minutes walk back to The Sal Room restaurant for dinner. When we returned to the hotel we had a few more drinks, the bar staff was just incredible and helpful. I took an early morning stroll on the beach watching the sunrise and the world waking up. The fresh sea air is wonderful and relaxing. I worked from the relaxed lounge all day. Town is 7min walk to the main strip and you have every shop imaginable. Breakfast was fast and efficient in a stunning dining room with lots of choices. I don't want to go home! THANK YOU Tamar and your team for making our stay perfect!…
Booked a single room in the Harbour Hotel on the 13th June 2022. Pre paid £203.00 for one nights stay. Room was small and very stuffy. Air con had no remote or controller in the bedroom. At 1230, unable to sleep, I called reception to ask how the air con could be adjusted. Clueless guy said he didn't know and maintenance would have to look at it in the morning. I tried opening the window but it opened into a very narrow airless alley full of air conditioning units hammering away. Back to reception who said he would send up a fan. Fan arrived, blew hot air around the room, very noisy. At 1430 I called reception again and asked to check out and get a refund, said he couldn't authorise that and suggested switching rooms. Packed my bags and moved two floors up. Lo and behold air con with a remote. Nice and cool but the air con was the noisiest unit I have heard. No sleep, eventually dozed off at about 6. Overslept, rushed down to checkout and get out and asked for a refund. Unfortunately I had pre paid, regret it badly! New receptionist also had no authority to refund me - offered me free breakfast, but already late for my meeting. Reception volunteered to get a senior manager to call me by 1100. Still waiting at 1330.…
Went for an afternoon (surprise) spa treatment and had a fabulous time. All the staff were super friendly and Elle, who gave me an excellent massage and a very relaxing facial, was especially great. The sauna/hot tub area was a favourite - exposed brickwork, nooks and crannies - loved it!! Afterwards, we went to the bar for our free prosecco and some food - would thoroughly recommend the smoked salmon bagel and the club sandwich (both reasonably priced). Overall, a fabulous afternoon. Looking forward to going back!
The hotel is stunning and in the ideal location, right on the seafront and surrounded by some lovely restaurants and bars. We stayed in a double room, it was decorated to a 5 star standard and was spotlessly clean. Complimentary water, tea, coffee and even some gin. Minibar also available at an extra cost. Toiletries were provided, small bottles of White Company shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. We hadn’t paid extra for a sea view room and were therefore facing the side road with a less than desirable view. The main reason I’ve given 4 instead of 5 stars is because the room didn’t have air-con. There was a window that could be opened but the noise from the street at night was unbearable with drunk people shouting and singing. With the window closed you could barely hear anything but it was then ridiculously warm. A small fan was provided which kind of did the job, but you’d really expect air conditioning as standard in every room for a hotel of this quality and price. You have free access to the gym and spa as part of your stay and I strongly recommend taking a visit to the spa. The gym is small but does the job with a range of cardio and strength equipment. The spa is just lovely. You’ll find a smallish swimming pool, a hydrotherapy pool, two smaller hot tubs, a steam room, a sauna and loads of relaxing sofa type areas. It was busy at times but still extremely peaceful. We didn’t eat or drink in the bar or restaurant but it looked lovely. Overall we had a lovely stay, and would visit again, but hopefully to a room with air conditioning.…
The hotel is in an absolutely perfect location to explore Brighton - right on the seafront, tons of restaurants around and right next to the Lanes. There is so much to see / do / eat nearby. The staff at the hotel were really lovely. We had an issue with our room (we didn't realise they didn't all have aircon) but they helped us find an upgrade that wasn't too expensive and was really worth it. I booked my mum and myself massages - I had one with Elle, who was amazing! It was the most relaxing 90 minutes. I can't remember who my mum had but she said the woman was also brilliant and she felt so chilled. The hotel was also really dog friendly, Abe had a great time!
We’ve just returned from a nights stay! Everything was fantastic. Check in was smooth and our room was ready a little early. The room was lovely, spacious, very clean and comfortable, and an especially comfy bed! We had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent, and afterwards the bar was just a fab place to chill with lots of atmosphere. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful! Really excelled our expectations. Congratulations to the Manager. Can’t wait to return.
