Bournemouth Cooper Dean has 28 bedrooms located over three storeys including the ground floor, all with shower facilities only (no bath) with two accessibility rooms on the ground floor. We don't have a lift (two flights of stairs to climb until the top floor) but is always happy to help with your luggage. We don't have a bar/cafe facility but Toby Carvery, Harvester & Burger King is located in the same area. Car parking is free, please register your vehicle at reception on arrival. The hotel is very well located with plenty of activities in the local area, this can result in traffic noise being heard. Directions: A petrol station is located just before Bournemouth hospital, take the turning into the petrol station keeping to the left, follow the road to Burger King, Travelodge & Toby Carvery. If you have any questions please contact our helpful hotel team, we will do everything in our power to support you with your request. Irons/hair dryers available at reception. Thank you.

Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

At the Travelodge Bournemouth Cooper Dean, cleanliness is regularly commended, with travelers noting its well-maintained state post-refurbishment, despite occasional small lapses. The hotel's strategic location is a hit for its proximity to key points like the hospital and airport, complete with complimentary parking, even if nestled beside a bustling road. Guests are welcomed by an inviting atmosphere and commendable service, though the reception's efficiency can vary.
While the rooms offer cleanliness and recent updates, some guests mention limitations due to noise and basic provisions. Overall, the hotel is seen as providing satisfactory value, balancing cost with comfort, yet with room for improvement in amenities and soundproofing.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed in the Cooper Dean Travellodge for an overnight stay in June. We had chosen the hotel as it was a short drive from here to Bournemouth airport where we had a flight the following morning
Arriving late afternoon, our room was ready for us and contained a double bed, flat screen TV, desk and table with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom had a wash basin (supplied with liquid soap), toilet and shower cubicle and we used this for our pre-flight linear covid tests. The room décor looked a little dated and tired but for our overnight stay this was not an issue to us.
The room was reasonably clean and we slept well although we were up and out at 4AM! There is a good amount of (free) parking at the hotel and it shares with the neighbouring Harvester Inn which is where we chose to have dinner.
Would certainly stay here again if we were to use Bournemouth airport if only for the convenience.

We recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights just as it re-opened. It is a clean budget hotel so don't expect luxury.
The hot water stopped working during our stay but this was due to a boiler failure and it was rectified on the same day and the both the manager Miguel and Carlos were exceptional in their handling of the situation. These things can happen especially as the hotel had been closed for a while.
The location is not the best as it is next to a dual carriage way so opening the windows on a hot night is not ideal. However, fans are provided in the rooms and the price was good as we stayed during the peak season.
It is a good base if you want to quick access to Bournemouth town centre and the beaches. There is also a Burger King and Tobys next to the hotel.
I will be more than happy to stay again and I think it will be very good if the hotel could provide air coolers in the summer months.

After a few bad experiences in other similar old properties was a refreshing surprise this one.
A very warm and pleasant welcome from the Manager as we arrive earlier, but he point us on the right direction, pointing straight away the carvery next door as we were starving, very helpful information about the area, shopping and local area, don't recall his name but was Portuguese.
Rooms were clean and providing what you expect from a Travelodge, carpets smelled clean but visually they look very bad, lots of stains and discoloration.
Positive experience on this one, what was missed on decoration and comfort was completed by the kindness and sympathy of all the staff that I met. Thanks

We booked to stay at the Cooper Dean Travelodge in January, so we would be able to surprise visit elderly family member the following day.
The room had a sloping ceiling in the area by the window. The side of the slope and ceiling colour matched and when you are distracted they are hard to differentiate. There is a small sticker in the middle of the vertical to the slopping ceiling, white with black font and approximately 2.5 cm by 6cm. Not easily noticed. I hit my head off the corner in the first five minutes. We requested a room change, but was told we couldn't. So we altered our usual sleeping arrangements to reduce the likelihood of impact of me being 6 ft 4 inches being an issue.
In the early hours of the morning an arguement broke out on the landing outside of our room. The night porter attended but was told to go away in an abusive manner by a woman who was clearly agitated. Eventually the conversation reduced to a reasonable level. The people involved in the argument went off to their rooms. The loud woman must have past back and forth between rooms just short of ten times in the next few hours. Each time banging on the doors and calling the names of the people who must have been occupying the rooms.
At 5-5:30 am. An argument broke out in reception with a woman shouting yet again.
Before we left, we complained to the morning porter on reception and he apologised, but said that there was nothing he could do about it. He was going to report our complaint and we would get a discount voucher emailed to us. This hasn't happened. Also you cannot complain on a travelodge website or email a complaint.
I appreciate that this type of incident could have been a one off. It would have been better if the woman and her group had been thrown out. Based on the abusive and offensive language that was being used, I am surprised that they weren't. But they were left to continually disrupt the rest of the visitors for a long period throughout the night.
If you plan to have a decent nights sleep and are in excess of 5 ft 10 inches you may be better arranging to stay in another hotel or at leat insist on the first floor and no higher and wear ear plugs!

After looking at quite a few places to stay in Bournemouth we decided on this Travelodge. They allow dogs to stay and are in a great location which is easily accessible if you have a car.
The hotel is one of the better Travelodges I have stayed in, very clean and comfortable. The rooms are a good size and all corridors and communal areas are well kept.
The staff were also lovely have remembered us throughout our stay which was nice.

This little budget hotel was chosen as the base for a group for my son's stag do.
The staff, Lynn and Reece, where able to sort all of our rooms out well in advance of the normal book in times. This enabled us all to get washed up and changed before moving onto the next set of activities. Without their help the whole flow of the day would have been lost. So thanks again Lynn and Reece.
My only negative was the lack of obvious direction signs into the location. This might be down to me. Go into the slip road for the petrol station and turn left again after that, it saves a trip around the hospital car park........
A nice little place for an overnight stop.

We had a lovely 3 night stay whilst visiting the area.
The Travelodge is a traditional style building but with all the modern touches needed.
Plenty of free on site parking just register your number plate at check in.
Reception is clean and modern with a well stocked vending machine and recycling point.
Toby Carvery restaurant, Burger King, Petrol station and Budgens all on site.
We found our room to be quiet and no noise issues from the roads.
Special thanks to Lynn from Scotland on reception who was so friendly and helpful around an issue with booking app.
All staff we met were also nice.
The travel lodge allows dogs as most of them do for an additional charge when booking.
We were disappointed the Toby Carvery next door doesn’t consider this and allow dogs in, they are missing our on a lot of trade.
Will stay in in this Travelodge every time we are visiting.

What a disaster. We booked in about 12 and checked that we had a twin room and was assured that was correct. We then visited family and return about 20.30 hrs to be I formed by a different girl on reception that it was a double We told that was incorrect as We had checked in earlier for the twin room. She apologised and she said that she had allocated the room to someone else. She offered to show us the double as it also had a single bed which turned out to be a divan. We told her that it was unacceptable. The only twin was on the first floor which my wife inspected. We reluctantly accepted as I find stairs a problem due to medical condition with my legs.
We were lucky that another guest was able to help with our luggage.
Next morning the manager was on reception and we related the previous events. He apologised and said a ground floor twin was available which he showed us. It was a double bed which could be split in 2. We accepted and my wife rushed to get our luggage from the first floor room.
We returned again later and entered the room to find 2 separate beds the only trouble then was the headboard and side shelves are fixed to the wall so we needed to reshuffle the beds around a bit.
Over the following days we discovered the the edges of the carpet were all bleached were a mop had been run the bottom of the wall. The toilet was leaking and running into the shower drain and staining the bottom of the shower curtain. The room was just behind the staff toilet and the reception and other guests are not always quiet when entering.
Breakfast boxes are available bu you may just as well go to the pub next door for unlimited breakfast for about £2 more.
The day we checked out we again spoke to the manager and related the issues with the room. He apologised and said his request for a hotel refurbishment with head office seemed to be of no avail.

It is a great location the building itself needs work on the room as it is very dated. Being a decorator myself all it would need is a lick or paint and a new carpet to make it that little bit better. But the rooms are clean and the staff is great. perfect for what me and my work colleagues needed.
Zoe on reception was very cheerful and attentive answering any questions we put her way regards to beaches and town center. and in the morning she greeted me and my colleagues every morning of our stay with a good morning and have a good day and engaged in conversation with us. While we were waiting for our lift to arrive. This is what going above and beyond is.
she took time out of her morning to wish us a good day fantastic customer service will definitely use this hotel againg when we are in the area

Carpets discolored, room smells of damp. Lighting is terrible for computer work. Definitely not suitable for business travel. Not tried the Wi-Fi as historically travelodge Wi-Fi is a joke. On a positive note the bathroom was clean but putting the desk under a low ceiling is not a clever idea

Travelodge rooms do have heating. You'll have to get a taxi to Talbot Woods or catch a bus from the hospital. Bournemouth Hospital is next door to Cooper Dean.
Hi,
Many customers don't have an issue with the traffic but we do have rooms facing the car park if needed. If you call the hotel and ask for a room facing the car park it should alleviate any noise issues from the main road.
Hope this helps,
Ken
