Holiday Inn Bournemouth is often recognized for its cleanliness and well-maintained facilities, with guests consistently commending the spotless rooms. Despite some issues with room temperature and leaks, the accommodations are generally appreciated for being clean and comfortable. The hotel's prime location is highlighted, situated conveniently near the town center and seafront, ideal for visitors who prefer to explore on foot. However, some travelers feel the hotel does not provide sufficient value, pointing out that the costs of amenities do not align with their expectations. While the service is largely regarded as friendly and helpful, there are occasional critiques regarding breakfast service and organization. Additionally, the atmosphere is compromised at times by loud music in common areas, which some guests find disruptive.

Had an excellent weekend at this Hotel. Room extremely clean and comfortable, and staff very polite, helpful, and smiley. The breakfast menu is probably the most comprehensive I have seen in a very long time. This was our second stay; there will be more.

We arrived on Sunday and left on Wednesday. The hotel seems quiet during the week and is probably busier on the weekend but I'm not complaining it was a peaceful and had a good ambience. There is also parking available on site.

The hotel was located centrally so you can get to places on foot quite easily. There seemed to be a lot of queuing in town to get into places to eat it is worth walking out of the hotel go left and there are take ways and restaurants which may not have the queues.

The hotel is set up very well to deal with the virus. One way system clearly marked out, Sanitizer readily available , you wear a mask to order at reception and request things. The staff were all friendly approachable and professional. If you need towels or your room to be pulled up you must request at reception by 9pm the night before. Rooms are not cleaned unless requested, so you have been warned!

You can book a breakfast at reception for £11 - it's not a cooked breakfast but a sausage or bacon bap with cereal some mini croissants and a bit of fruit and tea and coffee. In my opinion- Don't waste your time with breakfast, you can get an excellent breakfast cut price at the Christopher creeke which is walking distance just google it. The room was nice quite large but the air conditioning was not working , the manager did give us a fan which did what it could in the heat wave. Overall good hotel operating a hands off approach in covid times.

We booked last minute for 2 nights in Bournemouth.
Parking is £11 per night, under the hotel or outside the front. Spaces were limited when we arrived and it was a tight fit for a Q7. Recommend arriving no later than 3pm for a space.
Hotel has good COVID procedures, masks worn in public areas and sanitisers at reception.
House keeping only enter your room if you request it. You can request extra products for the room such as toilet roll etc... Room is sanitised before entry.
Room is basic but ok for our needs. There is an ironing board, iron, safe, tea/coffee facilities, clean towels. No mini fridge.
Breakfast was hot buffet but is served to you. Packaged cereals, fruit or yoghurts available.
Good location, approx 10 minute walk to the pier, it is down a hill so expect to walk back up!
Wasn’t impressed with Bournemouth itself, beach is lovely but that’s about it!

All the staff did a decent job for us, especially the guy on reception (beard and glasses) whose name I missed. The COVID precautions set out in the leaflet we were given were all very sensible, unfortunately it seemed a lot of guests didn’t read it!
Our standard twin room was smaller than normal for a HI, decorated in a ‘clinical’ style, and the shower room pokey with a tiny screen and no working ventilation which made it a wringing-wet sauna during and after each shower, and a slip hazard with water all over everywhere. Fortunately the towels were large and very absorbant, and we were given a car parking credit on checkout for the inconvenience which was fair. A nice touch was the large Samsung TV with a Chromecast app built in. Like most hotels, there weren’t enough hangers if you’re staying more than one night.
Food - we only had breakfasts, which were pretty good considering the current circumstances, including a counter service cooked offer. I wouldn’t have wanted to try eating a dinner at the very low tables with the sloping back loungers (all of the normal dining places were fully occupied). Bottles of water weren’t provided in the room, but were available to take away from breakfast.
Limited parking is available on site, although a bit pricey at £11 per night.
Almost everything in the town is within easy walking distance, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and the overcliffe and undercliffe only a few hundred meters away. If you want to go to Poole or Christchurch there are bus stops just along the road, or for the more active guests Sandbanks and Hengistbury are 5-6 mile walks or bike rides West and East respectively along the prom.

Dear TheBonzNottingham, thank you for the very detailed and overall positive review, I was pleased to see that you had an enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, we had to remove all cushions, bedthrows etc and also remove any collateral which makes the rooms look a bit 'clinical'. Once again please accept my apologies for the extract fan not working, this has now been fixed. We do hope you will choose us again next time when we will do everything to ensure that you have a perfect stay. Thanks again. Kind Regards, Peter Baerwinkel General Manager

Hard to recommend this hotel. Room, and hotel in general was tired, dated, and dirty. You get a stainless steel basin in the bathroom and nasty flourescent lighting in the room. The bog roll holder fell apart, there was dirt all up the shower screen. I honestly didn't want to touch anything.

For evening meal in the restaurant you have a choice of Curry, curry, curry, there's a curry on, and they do a curry too. A couple of chillis, some salad and a pizza. No room service.

Breakfast is equally dire. No you can't have toast.. heres a bottle of water, some cheese, an apple, and a bap with some cold fatty bacon in it.

It's not like its cheap either, I saw it priced up at £163 a night, breakfast is £12 and you ARE having what they give you, not what you actually want. (I went to McDonald's for breakfast in the end)

I was meant to be there for a week, I checked out after one night and went elsewhere.

Dear P5659DCbent, thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Holiday Inn Bournemouth. Please accept my apologies for any shortcomings you experienced during your stay. As current government guidelines do not permit us to offer our usual breakfast buffet, we only able to offer a limited alternative. We have discounted our breakfast from the usual £12.50 to £8 per person and it's free for kids. Our evening menu, like most restaurants, is currently limited due to the size of our kitchen only allowing one chef to ensure a safe environment for our team. Once again, please accept my apologies, we do hope you may give us another chance next time when we will do everything to ensure you have a great stay. Kind Regards, Peter Baerwinkel General Manager

After my family and I were scammed by an online holiday apartment, the Holiday Inn managed to book all of us in on the same day and saved our holiday! They booked 7 adults and 8 kids for three days and accommodated us very well. They have implemented clear COVID procedures throughout. Although there was no mini fridges in the room, the receptionists were kind enough to allow us to store our food and milk in their fridge for the kids. The receptionists were amazing, especially because I kept losing my key card and having to annoy them each time to get a new one. Lovely spacious clean rooms! Only a 15 minute walk to the beach and really close to restaurant. Thank you soo much!

I was nervous about going to a hotel during Covid 19 but I was extremely impressed by everything that they had put in place. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast was extremely well organised too - you had to book your time slot the day before. They had thought of everything to avoid contamination and there were a lot of hand sanitizers.

I arrived on the 26th February 2022 after booking a room for the night since I was out with my partner and a few of her friends for her birthday weekend for a meal nearby and a few drinks after. I was very impressed with the hotel venue itself as it has a very modern feel to it, from outside all the way through into the main lobby and dining area, with glass panels all around the lower floor which allows plenty of light to come through during the day and an excellent atmosphere in the evening/at night.

The first thing I noticed when arriving was the well presented layout of the front desk, where I was promptly greeted by staff who were very professional and able to help me get checked in without any issues and answer any questions that I had about suggestions of places to go during my stay and also what time breakfast was available until.

I used the lift to reach my room on the 4th floor, and I was easily able to locate my room and enter using the key card provided. Inside, I was very impressed with how spacious the room was, and the facilities available - including a large wardrobe and cupboard for storage, ironing board/iron, hairdryer, large desk area and flat screen TV, as well as a modern bathroom with walk in shower, as well as a note in the bathroom to notify the front desk if there were any extra complimentary toiletries etc. That I may have required which was useful since I had forgotten a few things such as a toothbrush and even a razor.

After unpacking my bag I decided to have a shower, to which I was very impressed by the ease of use of the walk in shower, nice hot water and provided shower gel, and then after used the ironing board to iron my shirt so I could go out for the evening.

After arriving back at the hotel late in the evening along with my partner, we were greeted by some friendly members of staff who asked how our evening went and made sure that we had everything we needed before heading back to the room to go to sleep.

After getting back to the room we went to sleep, where the bed was very comfortable and were able to get plenty of rest.

After getting up in the morning we went downstairs to the dining area and rather enjoyed the buffet style breakfast, which had a large variety of food to choose from, from cooked breakfast to pastries, yogurt and various cooked meats, as well as a selection of hot drinks and fresh juices.

After finishing breakfast, we packed our bags in the room ready to check out, of which the process was very simple and we went on our way back home.

I would like to give a special mention to Nish at the front desk who helped us check in and was very helpful, and also to Tim who gave us some suggestions on places to visit in the area and even came to check up on us at breakfast to ask how our stay was.

I would highly recommend staying here and I will definitely be coming back again to stay in the future.

Not an easy one to rate. Starting with a room. Bed was really comfy. Only plus unfortunately. There were brown stains on a carpet, literally everywhere. Air con was so loud, that we had to turn it off after the first night as we're not able to sleep. The door had a gap, that let us see through to the hall. So no privacy whatsoever. In the bathroom, there was a squeezy soap, that would need a strongman to manage to squeeze out a bit. Not even a bar soap. There was a note saying, that if you need any toiletries you should contact the reception. But still, that's the least comfort you can get to have some sort of toiletries in your room. TV was lacking plenty of freeview channels. £13 per night for a car park is a rip off, especially that it's a hotel only car park. We should have checked the area better. I know, it's our fault, but just be careful as the neighbouring streets are full of homeless and some shady types. I am also not quite sure who they are hosting at the moment. Maybe some language students or some refugees. Don't want to judge. But having a drink at the bar was impossible as they were all sitting there, singing, shouting. Getting back to their rooms past 2 am. And as mentioned before, without a soundproof and gappy door it was really not easy to sleep.
The good point was the breakfast. Tasty, warm. Nothing to complain.
Sadly we won't be returning.

We stayed here for four nights last weekend. Check in was very smooth, we arrived the day before the match and staff accommodated us in providing a table to watch the match.

Our room: clean, vacuumed daily which was a bonus especially with being at the beach. Towels etc were always replenished. The room has been renovated in recent time I believe and they are fine, we had the sofa bed for the kids which was a little uncomfortable but that’s expected. I struggled to get A good sleep but not sure if this is because it’s been so long since we travelled and I’ve become accustomed to my own bed. Rooms weren’t as big as I expected but still a good size. There are some elements of the room which show it’s a old hotel however good job done to make it appear more modern.

Restaurant; I was very happy with the breakfast choice. Well organised and liked the idea of containers of fruit, fresh bottles of cold water, coffee machines and hot breakfast being available with good choices. The restaurant area looks very modern and we had a meal on the match night which was enjoyable. The kids enjoyed their food. Good selection of drinks available from the bar. We had a tab to settle and easily done when checking out.

Staff: on arrival I believe it was a manager who gave the children a beach ball each which was sweet. On leaving the female manager (apologies as I don’t remember names) have the children a teddy bear shaped chocolate each which they really appreciated. I can say all staff were pleasant and helpful and made our stay easy and comfortable.

The location of the hotel is great, it is slightly up hill but there are some great bars and restaurants If you go a couple streets away going away from the direction of the beach. Would recommend this hotel and use again.

Parking: available and charges are cheaper in week than weekend by couple pounds.
