Detailed Reviews
This was the third time I'd stayed at The Strand Hotel in Boscombe, while visiting relatives in the area. Great price for what was on offer: in my case a single room with shared bathroom and toilet. Bathroom, toilet and bedroom perfectly clean. Room, though tiny, had everything I needed: single bed, kettle, TV, cupboard with hangers (you'll be surprised at how many places don't actually have hangers!), hooks on the door and small sink. Bed linen and towels changed most days. Wifi worked great. Continental style breakfast was included in the price and consisted of various teas, coffee, toast with various jams, and plenty of choice of different cheeses, plus cereals, yoghurts and fruit. Two streets back from the main street in Boscombe, therefore close to supermarkets, shops, restaurants and bars, and the beach and Boscombe pier was a short walk downhill. A great budget choice and I'll be back again next year!

It was a lovely hotel, very clean and friendly staff. The bathroom was big. The breakfast was limited including bread, jam, butter, cereal, orange juice, tea and coffee. The hotel preserved its beautiful history with its furnishings and paintings.

We Stayed here from 1st to 4th June to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.
I can’t praise the hotel enough, the staff were so friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We had the large room (1) at rear of hotel which was really large & comfortable, massive large bed & large bathroom. Tea & coffee making facilities in room, which they replenished when asked. Room was not being serviced each day due to COVID restrictions but this was explained when we checked in, they asked us to ask for anything that needed to be replenished or replaced & they did so straight away.
Great experience highly recommended.

A pleasant enough place to stay during our 2 night visit to Bournemouth. Our room was quite large but felt a little cluttered with the extra furniture in the room. Many pieces could be easily removed and then the room would have been more suitable to our needs as we had quite a large suitcase. Bed was a little low and could probably have done with being replaced or at least given a new mattress. Additional seating was available as was tea/coffee making facilities. Our room had an ensuite, which was clean and well appointed. Breakfast was included, not cooked though. Plenty of cereal, toast, fruit etc was on offer so we did not go hungry. Onsite parking was available at the front door, which was extremely convenient. Rowan was very welcoming and freely offered lots of help and suggestions during our stay. Hotel well situated although not in Bournemouth itself. It is within easy walking distance of Boscombe Pier and its nearby restaurants and attractions.

Ok B and B for short stay, room 4 nice size bathroom small but functional, and fairly clean. The room was next to shared bathroom so lots of noise of people in and out. Old house so usual noises from floor board’s above .Good tea and coffee, toilet roll and shower gel ,shampoo provided. Location not to far from Bournemouth 10 min drive. Parking outside if lucky if not on roads surrounding.

Stayed at the Strand 11 to 15 June 24.
It is clean, comfortable and a quiet guest house .
Being honest for the price, what you get is fair . I didn’t see or have any people harassing us day or night, after all said it’s a base and for somewhere to sleep. If you’re looking for a bar or restaurant they’re five minutes away .
Thank you Layla & Ben.
Keep up the hard work your putting in

Ben and Layla helped us out last minute with a pickle before our friends wedding where we needed a room very last minute as a result of a mishap with the hotel we had originally booked. The responsiveness and flexibility was hugely appreciated! Would recommend to anyone!

Only a one night stay but we were treated like royalty by Rowan. Nothing was too much trouble. Great room with an en-suite and powerful shower. Plenty of choice for a continental breakfast. Handy location for visiting Bournemouth. The car stayed put in the complimentary car parking space.

If Carlsberg did hotels …… it definitely would not be this one! Stayed here as convenient for local concert but the noise inside the hotel was louder than the gig. I didn’t feel safe staying here either, the area has an interesting choice of people on the street day and night. And anyone can be in the hotel as there is no security, you check in yourself and people let others in. The only good thing is the price, it’s cheap but you get what you pay for.

Response from The Strand, Owner at The Strand Hotel
Responded 3 Jul 2024
I'm not going to spend too much time in replying to your review as you did not stay at this hotel! However I would like to mention, that giving a more flexible check-in to our gusts with our new self entry check in system (which is proving to be very popular with our guests so far) myself and/or my husband are indeed on site - each and every day, along with our small team of house keepers, but you would have known this had you have stayed! The people that have stayed have all been lovely, and no comments about anyone else? and of course we cannot comment on the general public, who are not our guests. This hotel is an extremely quiet space, or ''calm'' as one guest put it! but again you would know that yourself had you have stayed!

Stayed here for 2 nights in a king size room with en-suite. Very clean and comfortable room. The staff were friendly and approachable. Breakfast was delicious. Hotel was a short walk to Boscombe shops and sea front. Good value for money and I would recommend.

Most of the double rooms have full length mirrors but not all. If you mention your requirement in the 'Special requests' part of your reservation then I'll make sure you are allocated a room with a full length mirror.
Thanks,
Karl (Manager)
