Detailed Reviews
We stayed for a weekend and It was in a great location. Next door to a huge Nisa/Co-op and a pub/restaurant which served nice breakfast, 5 minutes to the beach, about 5-10 minutes to the shops. Could not fault the location! However the rooms were a different story, very basic - the mattresses were so springy I hardly slept, the floor was dangerous with splinters everywhere, there was water leaking from the the floor above onto a fire hydrogen, our sink in one of the bathrooms was leaking and the door waa getting stuck. I am sorry but I would not stay here again.

Room: mattress' were very springy, room was slightly small but clean. Room had one open window and no AC. We were on the top floor so WiFi was good at times and bad at times.
Shared spaces: bathroom and shower was shared. Spaces were clean enough, but shower room and toilet room were a squeeze. You need your own toillertries and towel. There is a kitchen where you can use kettle, fridge and cutlery/plates. Oven wasn't working. Tea/coffee/milk provided.
Location: excellent! Five minute walk from beach, Nisa supermarket 1 minute away - some fair priced restaurants nearby (good chip shop with huge portion of chips for £2, Korean restaurant etc), easy to get to pier and into town.
Staff: super friendly and helpful. They give you a code to come in and out so no keys required. You can text with any questions and they answer straight away.
Overall, generally good but overpriced. Not too loud, staff were helpful and nice, shared space, great location.

It's so easy to check in and out! You receive a text with codes to front door and your room. You walk to your room and your greeted with your name written on the door. I loved the FONT too! 👍🏾😜😂. So there was four of us. We are not a small family. Our children are 14 and 10 years old. We had our own bathroom (I can't do the communal bathrooms). We were out all day and part of the evening and having bunkhouse to come back to for a shower and to sleep was perfect for our needs. It's small but not tiny because of the bunks so we never felt cramped at all. I would recommend this place for the basics. The owners/management are only a text away if you ever need them during your stay. 👍🏾😀

Just stayed here for 1 night lucky, I’m a tarmacer so I’m not posh in any way but I wouldn’t let my dog stay here. Springs coming out of the mattress, curtains made out of ply wood!! Yes that is right ply wood, and bunk beds made out off some waste 2x2 wood. Oh and 1 shower to share for all the room. Lovely

Stayed for one night. Staff very friendly and helpful. It was a big family spacious room ideal for large families. Clean and fresh. Lovely view from balcony. And 2 minutes walk from the beach. Shops cafes other hotels/spas all walking distance.
Car park couple streets away £10 for 24 hours. However it's free on the streets if you find a space.
Defo recommend this place.

Stayed at Bunkhouse with 2 sons for one night. The room itself was clean and the beds very comfy but the shared bathroom was filthy. None of us dared venture into the mouldy shower!! It was extremely noisy with drunk people shouting until all hours. At least we were at the top of the house! And someone let off the fire alarm at 3am as a joke.
The reception guy was very welcoming and lovely.
If you are looking for VERY basic accommodation to sleep for the night with no frills then this is the place for you.
There was free WiFi but it didn’t work unfortunately.

It was a nice location, clean and all as we expected. I found it a little bit expensive for a hostel. Nice people and we spend a good time there. It will be good to have a socket per bed, but anyway enough sockets in the room.

BB is an ideal location for a Stag group. Very basic setup but exactly what is needed for a weekend where you are just crashing at the end of a night out.
Simon managed the booking really well and was very accommodating when I had to adjust the numbers last minute.
Would recommend for large groups

I booked this place for myself and 24 others. They text me the codes the day before so getting in and settled was very easy. Parking wasn’t great as the roads were always full but there was a car park five minute walk away which was £10 for the whole day which isn’t too bad. We were a bit noisy but the manager Just came up and was very polite and asked to keep the noice down which we did. The rooms were amazing! Beds not that comfortable but fine after a night out! None of us could work out how to get hot water on the showers which was a pain. Perfect for big groups and so much cheaper than a hotel! When returning to Bournemouth I would definitively book here again!

Very noisy, awful mattress, feel springs digging into you from every angle and wafer thin lumpy pillows - so bad left at 2am to drive 150 miles back home! Shame, because it's budget accommodation shouldn't mean poor amenities - come on Bunkhouse Bournemouth, give visitors a comfy night's stay!
