Arrived and was greeted by a very friendly chap who sorted our room quickly. The room had a lovely feel about it and was decorated in a way we would love to implement in our own home. Bed was very comfortable however was not a large double as advertised. Was two smaller beds pushed together. My partner found herself in between this gap and the morning and is aching now. The room itself was clean and presentable with plenty of complimentary additions. The shower gels etc were amazing as well! We couldn't work out how to get the shower a nice temperature, was either burning us or freezing, may have just been us but it didn't make sense... Overall happy with the stay, just a couple of small issues stopped it being a 5 star. Would return if the bed wasn't two smaller ones pushed together.

Nice place, room smallish but lovely big bed and good bathroom with a great shower. The room was a little dusty around the edges and we couldn’t get any reception for the TV however we stayed 2 nights on a ‘cosy nights deal’ which included an evening meal and breakfast both days and we felt was good value. Good food and location great for exploring Exeter.

Great location. Conveniently near the the city centre and not too far from the train station. Vert comfortable accomodation and homely decoration. Breakfast, brunch and dinner all on offer with a great choice. The food was excellent and great value for money. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting your child at Exeter University !

Stayed here for a 10th anniversary weekend away, paying £210 per night and hoping for a lovely room. However, there were soooo many things wrong, it was clear that this place is just taking the money and not giving any care to the upkeep of the rooms, and it left a sour taste in our mouths. When I tried to open the wardrobe, the handle wasn't properly attached. The TV was hanging, lopsided, off the wall (the fixings pulling out of the wall on one side). I put my toiletries bag on the glass shelf above the sink, and it instantly rotated, dropping everything into the sink. The carpet was stained. There were several downlighters out in both the bedroom and in the ridiculously claustrophobic bathnook ("bathroom" would be too generous). We quickly felt that we were being taken for mugs, and left us wishing we'd picked another hotel where the guests were appreciated. When we told the reception about the shelf etc, she cheerfully said something like "Oh, yes, we know about that stuff" before at least deigning to change the failed bulbs. Brilliant. If our room reflects the standards in the rest of the hotel, they need to take a hard look at themselves. On the plus side, the staff were generally friendly (though one waiter, too kool for skool, seemed to be on another planet in which he was the new Eminem - his rapping in the turning space next to the hotel was, at least, committed). And the breakfast was nice, and the food and service was fine. But, look, for those prices, you deserve something better. Certainly we will never be returning.

We arrived at the hotel and met someone in the bar who told us we could park in the multi storey across the road. Although arriving at 3 we had to wait half an hour for the room . We had a couple of issues with the room , tv and safe which were quickly sorted. We ate in the restaurant once and enjoyed our meal. However the room was a bit tired and could definitely do with a bit of a revamp.
