Voted “City Hotel of the Year 2018” by The Sunday Times, The University Arms is Cambridge’s leading hotel. First established as a coaching-inn in 1834, the hotel was recently re-opened following a two-year refurbishment led by Royal architect, John Simpson, and interior designer, Martin Brudnizki. The hotel is also home to Parker’s Tavern, Tristan Welch’s quintessentially British brasserie, which has rapidly established itself as the city’s hottest bar and dining experience. Situated on historic Regent Street, in the heart of the city and adjacent to Parkers Piece; the hotel enjoys an enviable location in walking distance to the best the city has to offer. The full-service property offers 192 individually designed en-suite bedrooms and suites; a majestic ballroom and other meeting rooms, together with in-room and private dining facilities provided by Parker’s Tavern; as well as a well-stocked library, curated by Heywood Hill, the Mayfair booksellers, and a fully equipped gymnasium

This hotel is beautiful, it has luxurious rooms which have been recently refurbished. It is immaculately clean. All the staff were really friendly and made you feel very much at home. The only slight draw back was that the bed was hard but they did resolve this for me. Thank you

Stayed one night last week on a trip to visit our daughter and her boyfriend. From the minute we arrived we were impressed. The central location was great, the decor was fabulous and the food excellent (although we only had breakfast) but the prize goes to the service. Every

The reception is spacious and very clean. I loved all the different art on the walls. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was upgraded. There was everything we needed in the room except biscuits - I like a biscuit with my cup of tea. The bathroom was lovely as

We stayed for 2 nights, arriving on the Friday and leaving on the Sunday. I called ahead and asked about parking, I couldn't believe it was £30 a day for guests but I have to admit once we got there I could see why as Cambridge is so packed and the location of the hotel is

Dear kelly8998, We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with such detailed feedback about your stay. I am very sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Please note that your concerns have been passed on to the Parker's Tavern management team with regards to the In Room Dining Service and to our maintenance team to have a better look at how we can stop the doors from slamming. Your feedback helps us constantly improve our guest experiences by knowing what we are doing right and what we can work on. May I thank you again for your time in sharing your feedback and I hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Ian James

Dear eahlms, Thank you for your question, indeed car parking cannot be booked in advance of arrival. Due to the extremely limited number of car parking spaces available onsite, we recommend that all guests be aware of the centrally located public car parks & plan to park there during their visit to Cambridge – our concierge team will be available to assist with the unloading of luggage and providing driving directions to said car parks when the guests arrive at the hotel. In the event that car park spaces are available at the time of arrival – our concierge team will offer these spaces on a first-come-first-served basis to arriving guests at the nightly rate of £30 – with the requirement that the vehicle be removed from the car park by 12pm on the day of departure. I hope this answers your question but should you have any more queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Ian James General Manager University Arms

"Many accessible rooms to choose from"
"Lovely views out over Parker's Piece, but obviously higher prices."
"High floor always for lighter room"
"If your budget runs to a Terrace suite they are stunning - the Marlowe has great views in two directions"
"It is a college town , so rooms overlooking the park can be a little noisy late night. Not really an issue, others may think differently"
