We arrived at around 12pm Friday night having had a super long drive, check in was fine. The staff at reception were friendly. When entering the room we both felt quite underwhelmed, after staying in another 4 star in Nottingham the previous weekend we sort of expected something

Many thanks for posting your review Megan on both Tripadvisor and Booking, com although, I see the content varies slightly. I was disappointed to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations on this occasion which has prompted you to give very low ratings for the hotel, please accept my sincere apologies as this is certainly unusual for us. Whilst we are fully aware that you encountered an issue with your bathroom plug, I believe my team reacted swiftly at the time and were able to offer a satisfactory resolution to which you were happy. However, I can certainly emphasize that this may have caused some inconvenience at that particular time of night. I also understand that my maintenance team inspected the plug the following morning and did indeed find a problem with the mechanism to which they were able to repair immediately and I thank your for your understanding regarding this unforeseen issue. Regarding your further feedback about the dust in your room and lipstick on your bed linen, we were totally unaware of these issues and I am sure had you alerted us at the time then we would certainly have taken the appropriate measures to correct this immediately, as you know the team is available 24/7. Furthermore, we are unaware of any workmen carrying out duties on the scaffolding outside room 338 on the Monday morning and thanks for letting me know as I will discuss this with outside contractor. Please rest assured that the scaffolding was put in place several weeks ago in preparation for our contractors to confirm the dates to carry out the scope of maintenance work on the roof to which we are still awaiting and therefore, there was no reason for anybody to be working on this scaffolding on the Monday morning. However, all our bedrooms are equipped with privacy voiles and also black out curtains at the windows. I was also disappointed that you found the new Novotel Future Bed to by uncomfy as this is generally well received by the majority of our guests especially with the built in latex topper for extra softness although I can appreciate that the comfort of a bed can be subjective and a personal preference. Regarding your concern that the hotel was over priced, I believe that on this occasion you were able to take advantage of a promotional rate which averaged £69 per night over your three night stay. Megan, thank you once again for taking the time to give us your comments and it is our sincere hope that you may consider Novotel again in the future. Warmest regards, Iain France - General Manager

I have never ever in my 33 years stayed in a hotel which has put up with the behaviour of its first floor guests as last night. Myself and a friend decided to travel from Glos to Bristol to spend a night shopping and relaxing in Bristol. We booked as a ‘surprise through last

I was sincerely disheartened to read your review regarding your recent stay at Novotel Bristol Centre, please rest assured that this is certainly an isolated incident and on behalf of the hotel please accept our sincere apologies. I would like to confirm that we were only made aware of this incident when you alerted us at the time during the evening and understand that the team then reacted swiftly and appropriately. I am sure that had the hotel not been 100% fully booked then we would certainly have considered relocating your bedroom at this time. Following the teams actions, I understand that these particular guests co operated and who then decided to go out into the city and promptly ordered several taxis. Upon their return at around 02:00 hours, the Night Manager was prepared and took procedures that the guests were to access their rooms in pairs rather than a whole group in order respect the other guests sleeping in the hotel. It was most unfortunate that once they had all gained access to their rooms they then decided to meet up together again as they had returned with food from a local takeaway. It was at this stage that the Night Manager informed these individuals that if they were to continue to create a disturbance and did not retire to their rooms quietly, we would have no choice but to call the Police and have them removed from the hotel. This is the policy of the hotel as the health and safety of both guest and colleague is of paramount importance to Novotel when dealing with these isolated difficult situations especially after there has been consumption of alcohol. We understand that there was no further incident and therefore, the night team then duly dealt with the mopping up procedures of the mess of Kebab debris they had left in the corridor. The following morning I understand that you spoke with Lisa - Welcome Manager just after 09:00 hours as you were concerned to receive by email a hotel invoice which is the general standard practice for all billing at Novotel. Lisa was able to explain this to you and took the opportunity to apologise personally for any upset that may have been caused due to these inconsiderate guests. In addition, as a token gesture of goodwill on behalf of the hotel, Lisa offered you complimentary room service breakfast. We would like to express once again, that we are truly sorry that you encountered this unfortunate issue due to other inconsiderate guests of the hotel and would like to thank you for your understanding regarding this isolated and difficult circumstance the team had to handle at the time. It is our hope that you will re-consider using Novotel again in the future, warmest regards, Iain France - General Manager

My sister and I stayed at this Hotel for a weekend break. On arrival we found that the hotel was surrounded in scaffolding. Whilst I appreciate this is not their fault it may have been nice if we had been sent an email prior to our visit advising of work being carried out which
