It doesn't look too attractive from the outside but inside it's fine. All of the staff were friendly and efficient. Check in/out were both quick and easy. We didn't use the restaurant but the bar was very good. The leisure facilities were very good. Yes, only one of three guest

Lifts have been broken for months and cause severe waits and lines at peak (or even off peak times). Any hotel that leaves key facilities like lifts broken for so long must be poor (even if other things might be good). Its obviously a budget issue (not a 'impossible' one) which

The property itself is old and tired but is being renovated bit by bit. The beds are very comfortable. There is now only 1 lift/elevator that is operational, out of three (march 2019) and no timeframe can be given as to when the whole issue will be sorted. The bar/lounge area on

I'm a regular here and have been for the past year for business travel. The one thing that keeps me coming back is the amazing staff who go out of their way to create a home away from home. They're all great but I'd personally like to thank: Sophie - for being an excellent

Comfortable but old and tired for a Marriot. Only 1 of the three lifts works which is a nightmare at busy times. Sign says it won’t be fixed anytime soon with one staff member saying it will take at least 6 months. Rooms reasonable but need new fittings, paint and the windows

Everything we do here at Marriott is aimed at providing our guests with an exceptional experience, and I am sorry that certain elements of your stay did not cohere with this. I am happy to read you were comfortable during your stay with us, and I am very sorry for your thoughts on the tiredness of the hotel. We do try our utmost to keep our building and the decor well maintained. I apologise that you do not feel that this is the case during your stay and I can assure you that your comments have been taken on board and passed to our senior management team. Please also accept my apologies for the current situation with our lift systems. I am very happy to read your kind words about the staff here at the Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre! Theoretically, one can walk from the station to the hotel. We have done it before. But there is a lot of building work going on and roads and roundabouts being updated. This seems to go on forever. We took a taxi this last time and were glad that we did. It was much easier, and not far. It's easy to get to Cardiff. We have never been there, so can't recommend, but people do like it. At the hotel, ask for a room as high as possible. That'll get you further away from the traffic. The views from higher floors across the park and the city are great - but you need to ask for a room at the front for this. From the park there is a ferry stop at the river. It's a great way to get down to the city centre and to see the SS Great Britain. If you google Bristol Ferry Boats you can download timetables - this is really worth doing. Have a great holiday.
