long stay, lovely 3rd floor rooms, clean, spa bath,balcony,a/c, Shamefully construction noise next door was unbearable. house staff lovely, owner-arrogant, The receptionist lady- 'KIM-'is exceptional, what a joy to deal with. Ground floor units are mouldy, no a/c, non functioning shower, avoid at all cost. 2nd floor units noisy, like being inside a base drum but clean/ presentable and livable. 'KIM. will do everything possible to make your stay as pleasant as possible. sadly staying at this motel to enjoy daytime R&R is impossible!!.evening stays only at this time suggested.

We stayed for 3 nights in a lovely, spacious room with a corner spa on the top floor. The room was well appointed and cleaned daily. Parking under the building is somewhat at a premium but just adequate. Close to Smales Farm bus station, so you can get to just about anywhere you need to quite easily and find a number of places to eat - the closest takeaway a short walk away on Shakespeare road possibly being the best option of all. Three's no lift, so not the best choice for anyone with mobility issues or unwilling to haul luggage upstairs.

A very good motel . Staff excellent and the room ideal , with plenty of room and very clean and fresh .
Parking easy as is access to and from the motel .
Could be a bit tricky for ‘older’ people as stairs are required to get to rooms , and shower is contained inside a spa bath , which could restrict some ?. Hand rails etc are well placed though for support .

Staff were extremely friendly. Our room on the top floor was tidy and clean, even gave it the finger swipe, A++. Awesome location, not even a 5min walk to the Smales Farm bus station, which made it easy to get to Albany and back with no fuss. Had to call the kids to show them our spa bath/shower lol.
We definitely will be visiting again

We spontaneously decided a night away would be really nice, so we called City of Sales Motel, and although it was 10.30 at night, the front desk were very helpful, giving directions to the Motel, and keeping reception open waiting for our arrival.

We got a 2 person room for $140. As we see our room we notice it has the hugest spa bath, which was a welcome surprise! For no extra cost we spent most of the night in our personal spa. Instructions were on the wall and it was very easy to use and understand.

Our room had a TV, although only had the basic channels (1,2,3). The bed was very comfortable and had extra bedding and pillows in the cupboard. Although there was no kitchen, we had a bench with complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate, a jug and milk in the fridge. The decor wasn't very modern (Fake bamboo matching mirrors, tables, bed and chairs.) And an outdated ceiling fan instead of Air Conditioning. But that doesn't bother me. One strange thing we noticed though, there were sliding doors which you would assume go on to a little veranda.... But they opened to, well, no where. You couldn't even take one step outside without hitting the railing.

Location was great if you needed to be at the hospital. Otherwise it was a 15 minute drive to Albany Mall, which isn't too bad.

I would recommend this Motel for wonderful customer service and a peaceful spa night.

City of Sails is clean and comfortable and extremely close to North Shore Hospital. The young man on reception was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. The motel was in close proximity to the bus station and offered the services of a reasonably priced taxi company so it is possible to get around even though you are a little way from the Auckland city centre.

We stayed here for 8 weeks while hubby having treatment at hyperbaric chamber in Devonport, has got a wonderful disability bathroom as hubby is in a wheelchair .
Lovely comfy bed and room for him to manoeuvre around unit
Great parking undercover and right at your door, very quiet location even though on busy road.
Great having a laundry available, unit serviced everyday even with us been long term, fresh towels , rubbish collected, tea @ coffee refreshed , bathroom cleaned and lovely fresh bed linen every 5-6 days
Brian and his team were amazing, they were always willing to offer any help
They were always out doing some gardening etc and keeping it lovely and clean
Would certainly recommend this motel to anyone close to everything on the shore
Thanks city of sails for our stay with you

Motel is central to Milford and close to North Shore hospital. Easy access to and from motorways.

It's about a 1km walk to Milford mall and shops.

Studio room was large and warm.

I would recommend as an affordable motel on Shore with easy access to city.

Stayed in this motel 3 times before and on arrival (after a long drive in bad weather) I received a free upgrade from a studio to a lovely one bedroom apartment! I was soooo pleased...lol doesnt take much to please me...
The guy in the office is lovely and the motel is sooooo clean. On a main road but traffic noise is minimal in my view and the handy location is a plus, just off motorway.
I will stay again and would recommend to others! Very competitively priced too...
