Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This motel had all the amenities that you could ask for, in a quiet yet easily accessible location. With tea/coffee making facilities, a kitchenette, and air conditioning, it made it a welcome place to come back to, to lay ones head for the evening. The room was clean and tidy, with the linen changed daily. Checkin and check out was friendly and simple.

My husband & I with friends found our 2 bedroom unit to be just what we required. The unit was very clean & comfortable, well equipped, ideal for extended holiday. We would certainly use this motel again. The customer service was excellent.

On our recent trips to Auckland there seems to have been a serious decline in the quality of many motels. Some are old and neglected and quite horrible. We stayed at Albany Oaks without checking out any reviews. I'm glad we did because we had a most pleasant experience. The owner was very friendly and helpful, even lending us her own book of maps to find our way around. The motel was located very close to all amenities yet was extremely quiet. The room was huge and well appointed. All facilities were spotlessly clean, modern and sparkling. The bed was super comfortable.
I cannot understand some of the negative reviews I have read here-it almost seems like they are referring to another motel. Or perhaps, as someone else suggested, it has changed hands.
We would definitely stay there again and recommend it without hesitation. It is the best value we have had in Auckland.

This is the third time I have used Albany Oak Motel to host a number of judges, both international guests and Kiwis. Very good quality, spacious rooms, modern bathrooms and good kitchenettes. Included in our tariff is breakfast at the nearby café - plenty of options and friendly service. The motel owners are also great hosts and very helpful in arranging taxis and recommending restaurants.

We travelled from the South Island with my 94 year old mother-in-law. We were made welcome and felt at home from the beginning. Rooms were clean. Staff courteous and friendly. Nothing was a trouble for them to do for us. Linen changed and units cleaned every day. We enjoyed the spa pool. Perfect location for the motel - close to shops and facilities. Very quiet and peaceful corner - didn't feel like we were in NZ's largest city.

Three rooms were booked each room had a pull out sofa bed.
In Albany for my sister in-law funnel, which was held at Snappy Rock Road, and wanted to stay some where handy to the venu and the motorway, as my sisters in-laws who are in their late 70's had travel from Tauranga and Masterson.

one of the sisters had her son drive them from Masterson to Tauranga then Auckland.

On arrival we all paid, Jennet was the only one who paid by credit card. We arrive back to our rooms after the funnel,
I notice a roller away bed made up for Jennet son who weight 120kg and 6ft tall. I said you cant sleep on that, pull the sofa out. which he did.

Jennet got call form the motel manager saying they broke the bed and saying you pay you pay.
I went back to the motel to look at the broken bed which was snap off on both ends.

(cheap Sofa beds) he wants $700 for this. I ask the manager why did you make up the roller away bed in the first place ( they knew the sofa was broken fail to tell us not to use the sofa)

The manager said why did you not ask we all went to bed at 10.30pm. these people should not be in the hospitality business they are rude - lied about the bed to get more money, I paid $190 Jennet Paid 180$ the other sister paid $170.
Told the manager see you in court

This is a standard motel in a convenient location. Quiet and clean, with helpful staff and close restaurants and cafes.

Easy accommodation. Ample car park, and pleasant layout.

Only room noise was distant road hum if you leave the window open.
