Citizenm Schiphol Airport hotel garners commendation for its modern, stylish ambiance and tech-forward rooms operated via iPad, though some guests find the accommodations slightly cramped. The hotel's location is frequently lauded for its exceptional convenience to airport terminals. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with numerous guests highlighting spotless rooms.
Opinions on value and room privacy are mixed, with some travelers questioning the room size and privacy, particularly for guests with disabilities. Nonetheless, the friendly staff and efficient service receive positive mentions.

The CitizenM was a great choice for an overnight stay prior to departing Amsterdam. The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The location was fantastic as it was a short walk to the airport. Note: If you are arriving from the train/airline don't follow the signs to CitizenM, they will take you towards the parking garage and then the signs disappear. Just walk out of the airport and keep right and it will take you right there via covered walkway. We were met by very friendly ambassadors that were available to help with check-in. The process was very fast...maybe a minute. The room was very fun and functional. The climate, lights, colored light in the shower, blinds, curtains, TV, and alarm are all controlled by an iPad in the room. The room was very clean, and the bed was a comfortable extra-large king. The wonderful rain shower head in the shower helped wash away the weariness of walking around Amsterdam all day. The cantina on the main floor had abundant snacks and drinks to order or for sale and is open 24/7. The checkout process was also very speedy - just scan your room key, check the final bill, and you're done. Overall, a great experience. Just wish we had something similar in the states.

CitizenM hotels maximize efficiency in the least amount of space. I stayed at Schipol as I had a very early morning flight. This was PERFECT for that requirement. A 5 min walk to the terminal (although much further inside the terminal to the international gate in my case for a flight to Zurich. The room is a marvel in efficiency and design. Just shy of 2 metres wide, this is a single room with toilet and shower positionted with sliding glass doors to ensure privacy and no water splashing about fm showers. Controls are all by Ipad for lighting, climate, blinds, blackout shade & tv... so e'thing literally at your fingertips. The bed is square and very comfortable, but immovable and one side against the narrow end of room at the window. They recommend if traveling as a coupld to sleep with head at the window or long end of the room so one person does not need to climb over the other to get out of bed. For me the room is ideal for a single person. It would frankly be too crowded with two persons as there is also only one chair to sit in. I would stay here in again on any future trip thru Schipol. A good bargain, about 1/2 the price of the Hilton or Sheraton located at the airport and only slightly closer to the terminal bldg.

We loved the short walk from Schiphol as we were staying there to catch a morning flight. The check-in/out experience was well oiled and the morning buffet breakfast was good value and hearty, Complimentary water, fruit and bread all day too. On to the rooms: We had a feeling of staying in an upscale hostel as the room we were in had a large bed touching 3 walls atop a large pullout drawer (that could fit a suitcase). So you sort of climb onto the mattress from the foot of the bed. A little unorthodox but probably meant to offer the largest size bed possible. We had a good sleep. The showering arrangement was also unorthodox. The shower cubicle and the toilet were in 2 separate glass 'Star Trek beam me up Scotty" tubes separated from the bed by a curtain. The shower instructions advise you to step in, select the shower/temp options, step out of the tube, close the tube and then step back in whereupon the shower would start, with nice pressure. No USB charging ports, by the way, despite the modernity. On the immediate vicinity: we are not superstitious but we were surprised to see the Schiphol airport mortuary behind the hotel. So for those sensitive to that view just choose a room location away from that.

The CitizenM Schiphol Airport was really easy to find follow the directions on the CitizenM website not google maps. The hotel is very modern checkin is done via ipads with helpful staff on hand to help, you even create your own room key! You can choose an airport view or a non airport view. I choose an airport view as I like planes. There are a number of lifts off to the right from the check-in you have to use the key card for the lift to work. Once you have found your room. On entering there is a wow factor. The room has both toilet and shower which both have doors which wrap around each of the utilities. There are clean towels bath and hand towels together with what I can only imagine as own band of shower gel and shampoo which both smelled very nice. The view out of the window you could watch the planes taxis around take off and land. You could not hear and would not know you were so close to the airport if you didn;t know, the roomare very we sound proofed. Everything in the room could be controlled by the supplied ipad lights you could change the colour. Lower or raise the blinds and it also acted as a media center to control the TV. Streaming to the TV was very easy. I could have used my iphone to control everything but didn't. On the whole this was a great stay. The hotel has modern art around the communal areas which was great to see. The only down side was the evening meal the portion size was small but on the whole very ediable and tasty. The price was expensive for the size I think. But that may of been because of the airport location. I would certainly stay again.

citizenM Schiphol Airport hotel is definitely one of the best when it comes to getting great value for your money. They really know how to make their guests happy.
When you step into your room, you'll notice how clean and well-maintained it is. They take cleanliness seriously and make sure everything is spotless. And they pay attention to the little things too, like providing high-quality soap and towels, and setting up the lighting just right to create a cozy atmosphere, and providing an easy check in and check out process. Plus, they give you options to choose from when it comes to room features, so you can customize your stay.
All in all, this hotel is definitely one of the top choices if you're looking for a great value and a comfortable stay.

Changing to a plane to South America and overnight stopover made us decide to spend the night in this very interesting temple. A very solid European standard of 4 stars: everything is clean, legible and as it should be. Place and type of the client, the owners of the hotel want it to be decorated in a specific airport style. So it's exactly what you need - nothing more. The room is relatively small but... with a large bed :):):) decorated in a very innovative style. There are two glass cabins in the room: one is a shower, the other is a toilet. Both cabins are illuminated with the color selected by the user. All media (including the lighting I mentioned) is controlled from the tablet. Breakfast is included in the price (a gigantic one). Good Dutch coffee and an eat-all-you-can buffet. The choice is quite large. If not for the price!!!!!! this facility would deserve 5 stars.

This hotel is a good option if you just need one night sleep before a flight, or even if you just need a hotel for a few hours between flights. The location is easy and no transfers are needed, you can just walk up to the hotel, a few minutes from Schiphol. It is important to mention that the rooms are very very very tiny, so you won´t be able to open your suitcases, make sure to be fully packed and weighed before you reach the hotel so you can leave your suitcases closed during your stay. The bed is super comfy, however one of you will need to climb over to lay on the other side because the bed is against the walls. The hotel is not noise proof so you do hear people waking up in late/early hours. I´ve stayed at Citizen M for 8 nights on different occasions over the past 2 years. On my last 3 stays there were problems. One time the shower wasn´t working and I had to pack my stuff and change rooms at night, the last 2 stays the TV streaming wasn´t working, no QR code! One of the nice things about the hotel is that you have a comfortable bed with a good tv screen, great to relax and fall asleep, but on the last occasions the streaming wasn't working, so I couldn't watch a movie, just national channels with nothing interesting. I did notify staff, and one lady came to my room and when she saw it wasn´t working, she left the room saying it would be fixed in half an hour and that she would be in touch. After one hour it wasn´t fixed, and since I didn't hear back, I phoned the reception again, they offered me a drink while I had already ordered several drinks from the bar that evening, so I wasn´t really interested in more. In the end, it wasn´t fixed, and since this is the third time with a problem, I think I'll try out a different airport hotel next time. I've seen options with similar prices, bigger rooms and the same or better facilities.

Cool hotel with self-check-in and assisted by a pleasant host. Can go drydocked under cover from the airport in about 5 minutes. The room (cabin-like) can be lit in different colors as desired. Good bed and good food in the restaurant. We would love to stay there again.

At first it seemed a bit strange. The toilet and shower are inside the bedroom. It actually worked out very well, the ultra modern, all electronic room with an iPad to control the TV, blinds etc was comfortable, very clean and only a few minutes walk from the Schiphol Plaza. We avoided the breakfast buffet as the hot food looked over cooked, and the cold platter a bit ‘plastic’. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall very good for a one night stay between flights.

Stranded in Amsterdam for the night - not the worst thing - but exhausted and then trying to get on the "hotel bus" with all the other stranded fliers, after seeing we weren't getting on one for maybe 45mins I spotted the CitizenM hotel down the street so we walked there.
Welcoming staff, got us checked in pronto, lovely modern vibe, clean, warm and inviting - gave us some free drinks vouchers which were really appreciated!
Room was great, my 15 year old daughter loved it - we opted for a double room although if you're not a mother who's close to your child as I am then it could be strange and tight! We only had carry on bags so it was ok but anything bigger and we would have been stepping over them.
The only thing i would have liked would have been a coffee machine so I didn't have to get up and go downstairs before getting my day started, but not a deal breaker.
The cafe food was decent, reasonably priced (we live in NYC so it was comparable).
Overall I enjoyed the quick visit, the staff were friendly, the hotel clean, relaxing and just what we needed!

Yes you can. Checkin is always smooth. Breakfast starts at 6.30 (costs about EU 14). Coffee is excellent and breakfast is good. And remember, departure terminal is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. No stress.
There are more places to choose from in the Schiphol area.
