Very small bathroom. The shower had these amazing four options, but half of them weren't reliable because the water didn't have space to flow into the person, but rather went straight to the door.
Isolation from other rooms was very poo, I could hear the next room couple having a shower and talking.
The room smelled a little damped. It was in the ground floor, but I'm sure it's a problem that can be fix, if they want, like making the windows "guillotine" style
However, staff was nice and attentive, the cleaning staff left the room flawless.
Comfy bed.
Breakfast was a 3.5/5.
I would probably give a different evaluation if the price was different, since it's not, o really think it's very expensive for what they offer.

Ideal for spending one/two nights.
The room we stayed in had air conditioning and was comfortable, the bathroom, although small, was functional.
Breakfast is also very good, it has everything you need.
The not so good part is that you can hear noises from the hallway and other rooms, and if you turn on the lights in the hallway it can be seen in our room and it's annoying.

We are walking the Caminho Portugues and saw an advert for this hostel posted on a wall. Private room for two, with two beds for 25 euro per night. We had our own toilet/shower across the hall (not en suite). Shower was great! Staff very friendly and helpful. Very convenient to restaurants and shopping in town. Strong wifi. Recommend.

Very poor cleaning throughout the building, ants in the bedroom, breakfast area without cleaning between customers and the worst, dirty sheets. Uncomfortable beds, idem pillows. Weak breakfast. We may have had bad luck, but for us it was to run away. Not coming back, and not recommending. Bad price quality ratio.

This was an absolute find. It easily rates in the top 5 hostels I have stayed in compared with +50.
Great staff, friendly and flexible.
Rooms are modern and clean as are the bathrooms.
Amazing breakfast, especially considering the price (13euros), consisting of huge fresh croissants (arrive each morning). Real juice, selection of cereals, cake, bread, cheese and cold meats. Also selection of fresh fruit.
You can also rent bikes at reception. Its a quiet hostel so I had a 6 person room to myself, all rooms have a smaller balcony.
The kitchen is also open for you to prepare your own food, the local food store is around 500m (next to the train station)

Spent one night in this hostel on 23rd August as a couple in a double room. This is the first time I had stayed in a hostel and found that it is better than some hotels I have paid more to stay in! Staff was very helpful, even showing us where the nearest bank was by walking us there. Giving helpful information on nearest restaurants, and booking taxis for us to go out. The building itself is very clean and looks quite historic inside. Rooms were clean and decor very modern. We had a private bathroom included with our double room, which had a lovely shower and hot water and even hair and body wash. Towels were provided.
Would definitely stay again if travelling to the area.

Stayed here for the first time in this Hostel and for the price it's nice, simple but good.
Only comment I can give is that on some days the cleaners forgot to put fresh towels in the room, so need to get them myself downstairs, but other days it was fine.
The shower unit was broken off from the wall, so needed to use it as a hand shower, not a big problem but I think something small like that can easily be fixed.
I would easily stay here again, but probably request another room.
Service is good, people are nice and the breakfast in the morning is very nice as well.

I've been thinking long and hard about this review - it's a lovely place, the dorm rooms are clean pleasant and bright. The breakfast was basic but reasonable. My main concern was the reception. I arrived at DP at 9pm having been walking all day the last few hours through pouring rain. I had decided on this place after reading reviews. Having rung the bell the receptionist viewed me through the door then, rather than open the door for me went back to the desk and then clicked the switch to allow me to enter. There was no hello, smile, offer of a seat - despite being soaking wet. This man was straight out of "Little Britain": "The Computer Says No" sketches (check on YouTube). Every question was met by long, silent, expressionless, menacing stares at the computer. Another couple came in - not able to find their way to his recommended restaurant. We all just stood there for ages while he played at his computer. Eventually he took us out onto the street and gave vague instructions, then admitted never having gone to the restaurant or eaten there. Later going down to ask another question I was soon brushed aside when his pizza delivery arrived. The next day the manager apologised when I reported the lack of welcome and said she would deal with it - but no offer of recompense. My advice: in a little town where business is vital, ensure all staff are trained in good customer service, keep up the standards of previous reviews, and don't allow recommendations for a restaurant if your staff have not been there. As punishment the receptionist could clean the black mould off the ceiling of the bathroom I was given, and then walk 30 km in rain to see what his guests may experience!!

Great value, excellent location, 30 km away from Lisbon with very good connections, close to train station and in the city center. The staff though.. Jorge the receptionist is simply amazing! Very helpful, extremely polite and with excellent knowledge of the region. He can give you tips on where to eat, what to do etc. Totally recommend!
