Sapphire Ridge is a mixture of wonderful and not so wonderful. So what is good about the hotel: The view is stunning, it has a swimming pool, comfortable beds, friendly service and delicious breakfast.
Not so wonderful: The Wifi didn't reach our room, the sound insulation between the next room and our own was so poor I could hear ever word from their television- helped if I closed the bathroom door, the ambiance was lacking for a boutique hotel, probably as it has been created as a small conference center and Wedding venue, there are no facilities for lunch or dinner on site. The manage very kindly drove us down to the village pub and picked us up again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. the hotel is extremely clean, glamarous and luxurious. I had some of the best sleep of my life, very important visiting NZ on a fully loaded business trip, so I was very happy to find this hotel. the continental breakfast was wonderful and elegantly layed out. the hotel is very peaceful, quiet and relaxing. the highlight for me was the hospitality extended to me by Greg, he is a courteous, friendly and clearly experienced hotel manager, honestly? I wish I had a Greg at every hotel I visited. I have no reservations in recommending this hotel. in fact it is now my preferred hotel when visiting Auckland and look forward to my next visit early next year.
