The Hume Hotel is a full-service Nelson landmark originally built in 1898 and is a must-see part of your trip to the area. We just completed a 12-year renovation. All floors have been renovated beautifully, maintaining that heritage charm that it is known for while incorporating some new technology like air conditioning and flat screen tvs. Centrally located, it includes the Aura Spa & Salon, General Store Family Restaurant, Mike's Place Pub, the Library Lounge, the Spiritbar entertainment venue, the Liquor Boutique and Banquet Facilities. Overnight stays in any of the guest rooms include a full hot complimentary breakfast in the morning made to your liking. This hotel is full of history, character and amazing staff.

The Hume is a wonderful way to get acquainted with the charming town of Nelson. So many historic hotels are "updated" but not made to feel like truly new hotels. The Hume is an exception. My husband and I were so pleasantly surprised by the non-creaky hallways and solid feeling

My husband and I stayed in this hotel 2 times in the last week. We booked to stay there on the way to Alberta and liked it so much that we decided to stop again on the way back! The hotel is well preserved historically but has all the important comforts for today. The room was

This is my second stay at the Hume Hotel and nothing disappoints. The rooms are beautiful and very well kept. The hotel itself is gorgeous. The food in the pub is delicious (the barristers bowl is definitely worth a try). Breakfast is included. It’s basic but made to order and

The hotel has the warmth and character of an old building, yet is beautifully restored and in lovely condition. The rooms were comfortable, well organized and well appointed. The restaurant had great service and lots of charm too. We loved the fireside dining table. I will

I can’t recommend this hotel more with its restaurants, pub, spa and club. This place has it all, it continues to stay in my top 5 places to go for brunch in Nelson and staying in one of there beautifully renovated rooms is always first on my list when coming to town for some

Standard room still had plenty of room to move around.
Helpful to have a decent size fridge that can actually fit food!
Suite sitting area into the bathroom
Sitting area in the suite. Spacious for a couple, with room for good size fridge and a tv area.
Updated bathrooms with modern fixtures, but still have historic charm
Are dogs welcome?
Dogs are definitely welcome. It's best to book direct and they can put you in a designated Pet Friendly room!

Is the hotel haunted?
I grew up in this hotel since I was six years old. Nearly forty years later, I cannot say that I have a ghost story yet. I wish I did but I do not. I have certainly heard others give renditions of their stories in the past but ghost sightings are not a common thing here. Ryan Martin GM & Owner

"Rooms on the upper floors are probably quieter. They can direct you which ones are best for your needs."
"Chose the upgraded room with to bedroom, well worth the few dollars more"
"Hotel's lone elevator very slow so rooms on lower floors might be better."
