We had a wonderful 3 night stay at this hotel. It's located in the Markham suburb of Toronto and near (within 10 minutes drive) many Asian eateries which was the target of our stay. It used to be an Embassy Suites and those familiar know that that means very spacious two room suites (basically rooms separated by a door and each with a TV), and a large open and airy atrium configuration. The rate for our stay in Nov 2022 was very reasonable with an all-in cost of $160.25 CD or $118.70 USD per day.

Very importantly, the pillows, beds, and bed coverings are high quality and provided me and the wife with a good night's sleep. Pillow quality has been lacking at most of the hotels I have been staying at lately, so that was a very welcome aspect. My only little knock with the room details was that the soaking tub was on the tall side and even though I'm extremely coordinated and athletic, but also old, lol, I as well as the wife had to be careful getting in and out. Also, there's no free fresh brewed coffee for the guests (though there is an unappealing pot in the room), but that's the Hilton style, and whatever.

If you're driving, there's also a daily parking rate of $10 CD per day. They have an attractive bar in the middle of the atrium. I had an Old Fashioned one night there and Meriam was my server in the bar and did a delightful and friendly job for a couple of us patrons. Thank you!

It's all about the little things. You expect a major hotel chain to get the big things right so it's all about the extras that make a guest feel special and appreciated. I stay at this Hilton at least once a year (for business) and EVERY time something is lacking.
First the good: big comfy bed, nice clean suite, good toiletries and lovely linens.
Now the bad: Beautiful new marble shower and not a single shelf (or anything like it) to place your soap, shampoo, whatever. It has to go on the floor. How dumb is that?
The pillows continue to be headache inducing. How about a selection?
I asked at the lobby bar for a small glass of milk to take to my room. I do this everywhere and have NEVER been charged. I got charged over $3 here. Then when I awoke to put milk in my in-room coffee, it was frozen. My little bar-fridge froze my expensive milk. Ridiculous. I cannot understand why North American hotels have not yet figured out how to put REAL milk in their rooms. Every hotel and B&B in Britain does it. I also cannot understand why a $250 hotel suite can't include a couple of bottles of water!
Like I said, it's the little things.
The lobby bar is nice and the restaurant (Essence of Unionville) is fantastic.

5 Star Hotel in my opinion. 4 Diamond CAA awarded Hotel. As a Hilton Honors Diamond Elite member, I finally felt as if there was actually a benefit to my status. The rooms are spotless and large, Ali at the front desk was awesome when I called with some questions, then he knew who I was when I checked in, outstanding! Food is absolutely delicious, I was pleasantly surprised with our “Executive Lounge” appetizers, this Hotel has got themselves a great one here, compliments to the chef!

Although the Lounge is closed, they deliver a tray of food made fresh by the Hotel chef; a very fresh salad, a grilled vegetable and sausage skure, and the best tuna melt I’ve had, then a cannoli and slice of cake to finish it off. I couldn’t believe how good everything was, and the portions. This hotel does limited service right! I’m so sick of other properties eliminating every amenity because of COVID, this hotel figured it out! I can’t wait until their amenities start to open back up to enjoy them at the fullest.

Breakfast is also included as Diamond, maybe Gold elite as well, I can’t remember. If you want something more then a continental breakfast then you can upgrade for $5 and get a full hot breakfast made to order. Brought to your room. Speechless at the service this property has maintained to offer during COVID. Other Hilton properties need to take note.

My only recommendation would be adding some art to the walls, the rooms are so big, there just isn’t enough art and the rooms feel a bit drab. Everything else was clean, new and comfortable.

Can’t wait to visit again.

Very, expensive hotel with no complimentary breakfast, room was old, the bathroom was super tiny and very uncomfortable to shower in. There was no toothpaste and toothbrush until we asked for one and they said it was complimentary but it wasn’t because we paid for it. We had to paid for water and almost every little thing we had to paid for, if we wanted to use their phone and Wi-Fi we have to pay. We pre booked and paid for everything and when we got at the hotel they took out debit card number saying it’s for security reasons.

We went with a sports team and paid 129 $ plus taxes and fees. The size of room, service, cleanliness and location vrs the price paid merits a 5 point rating. We were on the 5th floor, main building.

Our room had a queen bed in a separate room, a 'bar' area with fridge and coffee machine, and a separate living room, with 2 chairs and a sofa bed. The room had 2 tvs. The bathroom was totally fine, with plenty of towel. You could tell water had damaged the door and it was painted over, but for the price, we didn't mind.

The sofa bed must have been new, and it was very confortable. The queen bed was firm yet plush, and the linens were OK. Critic: the pillows were huge. I would have liked a smaller pillow.

It was clean.

The lobby bar is classy and the restaurant has a good menu.

We were very close to the pan am centre, and also of highway 7 that has a lot of restaurant and shops. There is a small mall besides the hotel with 3 sushi shops, bubble team and pizza.

Downside of being in a hotel with kids is that there was a hockey team... whose players ran in the hallway until 1 AM.

To note, on a Saturday night, the pool closes at 5 PM and it needs to be reserved ahead of time. We didn't go.

Would definitely recommend as a hotel for a group. Even for a family that wants a large suite 30 minutes away from Toronto.

I booked the hotel room, also checked in online through an app and then we didn’t get the room we selected.

I understand that there could be such policy and not guaranteed what we choose but then what’s the point of installing an app, create an account and choosing a room number.

After that the contactless check-in didn’t work and The app shows an error message that I will have to visit the front desk.

I checked in at the hotel and the lady was refused to accept that I booked online and not through third party.
While booking the room online, I correctly chose two adults and two kids and chose the breakfast option with an extra charge tariff.

We were given only two breakfast pass for adults and not for the kids- for them I was told to pay extra. There was no clear message that the tariff with breakfast only includes two person.

The quality of the room is not extraordinary, it was not cleaned properly. The appliances had dust all over. That makes me wondering about overall hygiene and disinfectant use for Covid -19 protection.
The whole nights there was a squeaky voice from the washroom hvac system.

Overall the experience was not worth the money it cost.

We stayed at this hotel for a little getaway visiting the Toronto zoo. The front desk staff were so friendly and nice and very welcoming! The standard room was a tad outdated compared to the rest of the hotel but it was clean/no issues. The pool was open and we were able to enjoy a swim each morning and was impressed by the cleanliness. Great place to stay with kids!

We stayed at the Hilton in Markham for a conference and I was not impressed to say the least. Sure, we stayed during a pandemic but the hotel used that as an excuse to not have all services available. I contacted the hotel about breakfast and the pool amenities prior to our stay and they stated the pool would be open. They also stated that room service would be available at no extra charge. We checked in on Friday and was told the pool was closed. They also said they did not serve breakfast. The pool was open on Saturday but only until 5pm that day. However, there were no towels and the bathrooms at the pool were closed. My children and I used the bathrooms, even though the signage listed them as closed and I later heard one of the staff workers complaining there was water all over the floor in the bathrooms. I’m not sure what she expected if they are it providing pool towels. Because we had to use our hotel towels, we ran out of our own room towels and had to request more. We also requested our bed to be made and our garbage be taken out. The housekeeping never came and we had to ask for additional towels twice. I later learned that they weren’t coming the rooms because of the pandemic. We should have received a discount if we weren’t having all the services of the hotel. Sunday, we tried to use the pool as well but were told they were doing something with the chemicals. I am not sure this was completely honest. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone or would want to stay here ever again.

Very poor customer service. Rooms were left uncleaned and the room service staff (Kevin & Arun) that I spoke to, both arrogantly said that the hotel will only clean your room after three days. Really! In this post-covid period where the world leaned importance of good environmental and personal hygiene?

They tried to claim that it was a Hilton Hotels policy, which is a big lie considering that I had stayed in Hilton hotels recently in June (Santa Monica) & July (Hilton Garden in Calgary)

The strange thing is that they did not even provide complimentary bottles of water for their guests.

Just overall bad

Very good hotel. Very clean and well priced for the quality of rooms and hotel. Staff wasn't overly friendly and it seemed like I was bothering them at front desk. The only negative thing about the hotel was the price of the breakfast. We were given vouchers thinking it was for free breakfast to compensate for the closed pool over the weekend but it wasn't clear on the coupon that it was for a 15$ breakfast per person. We were surprised when we got our bill. Other than that, we would stay there again in the future.

There are pots, pans, dishes, utensils, glassware, plates, most things you’d expect in a kitchen. Service for 4. Full size refrigerator. As for the crib fee, I don’t know. Call them.
