Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were gobsmacked to drive down the hill through the public domain and come upon this beautiful campground set round a circle of lawn with a circular driveway. Hard (loose metal) sites for campers if required, well equipped kitchen and although we didn't shower we heard the showers were excellent. Gate is shut at night which was okay as a phone number was provided in case of emergencies. No traffic noise. Older facilities but everything was very clean and well maintained. We highly recommend this campground and will stay again for sure.

The most perfect Holiday Park. Down a secluded driveway this small holiday park is perfect if you are self contained or just camping. Facilities are clean and everything you could need. Quiet at night, no road noise. Friendly and helpful manager.

Absolutely poor communication by owner/operator leading up to our stay even though I was keeping in touch by email and text right up too our arrival. Over the last eight years I stayed here regularly and never had a problem and enjoyed my stay in a tranquil surroundings. But this time terrible! Not only did my we have to wait for over 15minutes outside the main locked gate of the park even though I had given owner time of our arrival. Owner says call once there and someone will let us in, which I did twice and nobody answered the phone so I texted twice, still no reply. It was 8.40 at night, then on arrival only to find we were placed in a different cabin that I had originally requested three weeks prior to arriving. No curtain on window, so all through the night the kitchen light shine through and kept waking up to it. Loud talking from the kitchen as the cabin was right beside it. I had also booked on and communicated three weeks earlier needing a 3 day stay, again I never heard back anything and then get told a few days prior to my first overnight stay that they might be booked out but can possibly help with another form of room as the cabin I booked might be booked out. Then when I followed up with owner by several texts I had no reply once again. I could of ended up with nowhere to go. Fortunately another better holiday park with better communication helped me out. Very terrible, won't be staying again nor recommending to any of our friends and family!

Beautiful surroundings with redwood trees a deer park and an aviary nearby. Excellent facilities and a friendly manager. There is also an indoor pool about 400 meters from the sight also managed by the council I believe. I would highly recommend this tranquil campsite.

Wow, what can I say. After travelling solid for a few days we came across this amazing beautiful place. All we were after was a shower and somewhere to cook. This was beyond what we expected. Excellent facilities! She's done some great work here! Shame we couldn't stay longer!

Facilities were a bit basic but the site location was great, with some lovely walks around the basin.
A very peaceful site, where all the vans are parked around a large oval green. Beautiful redwoods line the access drive way.

My family and I tend to stop here on our way to Wellington, so this accommodation is one of our favourites. Loving the new cabins and free wi-fi. This location is serene and beautiful; and really feels like you're miles away from civilisation despite only being at the base of a hill.

We have our own van and only stayed for 1 night as we were passing. Carl the manager was amazing. The facilities were clean and well looked after. I highly recommend. The best place we've stayed in so far!!

Kim greets you with a warm welcome!
The site is located in beautiful parkland which sadly we didn’t explore due to incessant rain and time constraints but we drove past the deer enclosure, and a pretty footbridge over a little lake and saw signs for pools which were nestled in the park a short walk away from the campground.
Cheap overnight rate for powered campervan pitch.
Clean well equipped kitchen, toilets, showers and laundry room.
Fabulous BBQ shelter.
The best campsite we have stayed in since our arrival in the North Island 7 days ago!
