This was a really lovely motor lodge. It helped that it is reasonably new. The room was spacious with a well equipped kitchenette and bathroom. Hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, tissues ... were all provided and in reusable containers. Milk was supplied in an eco-friendly glass bottle. The hosts were welcoming and showed us to our room! There was an informative Guest Information folder which gave details of restaurants, etc. We were particularly pleased to see that the teas, coffees and biscuits were all NZ brands. There was plenty of off street parking right outside the rooms. Highly recommend this motor lodge.

Well above average for a Motel. High standards. Excellent 10/10. Hosts Sue and John have nailed it. Spotless and not just in the Motel but the grounds, plants and surroundings are clean and tidy. No cobwebs here. I really liked the addition of lotions and creams available at the front desk. We've traveled a lot and stayed in many Motels but this would surpass any other we have stayed in. Coffee sachets (organic) provided were amazing and there was no problem in asking for more. Service, hospitality, amenities, locality and friendliness were homely and professional. Couldn't fault this lovely accommodation. Thanks Sue and John.

One of the best motels I've stayed in. Very clean, modern facilities, with parking right outside the unit. Friendly welcome. On main road (easy to find) but couldn't hear any road noise during the evening/night.

This was a casual stop on a road trip. The value was very good and the proprietor friendly and helpful. It was a standard room but the shower was very powerful. Sounds a minor point, but after a days driving a real bonus. The location opposite McD’s and a petrol station was also awesome.

Called in last minute to stay here. Exception inside and out. Friendly people and so very clean. Wished we could have stayed longer here. Will return to stay here on our next trip to Wellington in the future. Great stop with the kids.

Having stayed here 10 years ago we found ourselves in the area again so we booked in again. We only stayed one night but we were made very welcome. A lovely clean and well set up room, with everything a traveller could need. Kind and friendly hosts and an easy walk to town and a fab restaurant close by for dinner (the Barrelhouse), what more could you want! And the bed was extremely comfy!

I'm not sure how many times I've now stayed here under it's current and two previous owners but it's still as good as ever and, in fact, improving in that most of the rooms have now been completely re-furbished. The proprietors could not be more helpful, friendly and accommodating: a group of us stay frequently in lodge 5 and always have an extra bed set up in the large living area. I hope that I shall continue to stay there for some years to come.

this place saved us from sleeping in our car after an increasingly desperate run down the highway from a totally booked out part of NZ on a cold and lonely road, clean rooms/ good hosts/ hot water/all amenities and very reasonably priced, they were lifesavers...100% recommendation from us

What a pleasant surprise this motel was. The motel is very modern with excellent facilities at a very reasonable tariff. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room very clean. The odd heavy truck passing during the night was noisy, but this to be expected with the motel being on the main road. We would stay here again.....highly recommend.
