We got back home at the weekend following a brilliant week over half term at this hotel.
I spend AGES researching holidays to try and get the closest thing to perfect for our family who haven't done an all inclusive holiday for over ten years! I would have really liked to have read an honest review like I've written when I was planning the holiday, so I hope this helps people.
Firstly I'd like to say I know there are randomly a few negative reviews about this hotel. I genuinely think they're false reviews or these people have incredibly high standards. This hotel is amazing.
We're a family of 4 - two girls aged 13 and nearly 9.
• Free wi-fi - incredibly strong coverage across whole hotel and beach. Never dropped out once.
• Rooms - we had a deluxe family room. This is basically two bedrooms separated by a wall and door - so no need to sneak around and talk quietly once kids in bed. The main king bedroom has a small balcony off it. We didn't use this really apart from for drying swim suits (pack pegs!). The kids room was next to the bathroom - this is my only gripe, but it's minor. Had to sneak through their room if they were sleeping to use the bathroom. The beds were SO comfy. Clean, well maintained, lots of storage etc. We asked for a quiet room when booking, and we did find we'd been placed in a quiet area of the hotel near the patisserie. Mini bar is well stocked with drinks and snacks. We left regular tips for the cleaner and they gave us extra snacks and made a lovely towel display on the bed one day. Nice surprise!
• We booked with Jet2 and did one of their excursions to a local Turkish bath. Highly recommend! It as only £35 and we were there for about 2.5 hours!
• We did a private boat trip booked through the guys on the beach between our hotel and the Kremlin hotel. It was £185 (a deal, apparently!). We had 2 hours and a captain, private swimming in the sea, visits to caves, waterfalls etc. We even got to drive the boat. We used the same guys to do parasailing one day. Great experience!
• The food is really good. I've heard loads of people talking about how repetitive and cold it is. I disagree. The main restaurant is HUGE. Think football pitch size. Yes they're going to repeat some food as it would be unrealistic to expect otherwise, eg the salads and desserts. But most days there were hot and cold specials. They have to cater to a lot of tastes and I think they got the balance between local Turkish food and what the range of customers would like right. We had most meals at the main restaurant, but also loved the small kebab place called Hurrem on the way to the beach. It's like going to a little restaurant in a village. The food is brilliant there and all included! We did pay for the authentic Turkish restaurant as a treat. It's called Hanedan. It was £30 each and £15 for children. The food was endless and it was SO tasty. Recommended for a special experience. There is a beach snack bar that was OK. It did the job when we wanted to just grab a burger or nuggets. Nothing special but handy. There is one bar doing ice creams. It's located next to the beach. The ice creams are lovely - like McDonalds ones apparently! But I would say they could do with another place doing them further up by the pools. There's also a patisserie place open from 3-6pm every day. Doing desserts and ice creams, coffees etc. Very nice. Next to the main restaurant is a small off-shoot room they use to serve food out of hours e.g breakfast from 10am. If you find the main restaurant overwhelming (and I did many times!), wait a bit and have your breakfast in there.
• Drinks are great. Good range of spirits all good quality. Efes beer on tap. Nice cocktails. No complaints! Yes they serve all drinks in glass glasses. I wouldn't say it was a problem for us, but I can see if I had toddlers or young children it might have been. I've got to say, I've read SO many people saying there was broken glass all over the floors - so much so that I bought beach shoes for my kids to wear the whole time. But we never saw one piece of broken glass so I'm not sure what that was all about!
• There are many cats living in the grounds. We love cats and this was a great treat for my kids to see them and play with them. They are largely friendly and seem very clean - I even questioned whether the hotel maybe flea treats them because they were in such good condition. Top tip - if you love cats, take some treats or food with you. They love it!
• We never struggled to get a lounger once. There are SO many.
• The pools are beautiful. Yes the large one isn't heated so it is cold, but it didn't really cause us an issue. The kids went in on their lilos and then used the warm pool by the patisserie when they wanted to swim. The slides are great and my kids spent most of their time on them. The sea was lovely and warm so we swam in there a lot.
• The beach is really lovely. Private and feels very safe. The sand is nice with a mix of sand and pebbles. The sea is warm and generally clean. Again lots of loungers.
• It seems the majority of guests are Russian. We did encounter a few rude Russians but generally it was fine. Seems to be very few Brits (which we liked!), some Germans. The behaviour was good and the vibe was nice. No 'trouble' that we saw and no one taking the drinking too far.
• Entertainment seemed good although we only went to two of the shows. It's not really our sort of thing, but the quality seemed good. There were two special nights at Xone when we were there - a red party and a Halloween party. They were basically club nights so not really what we wanted, but they decorated the place and it looked good. The foam party they hold at 4pm on a Friday was brilliant fun.
• The staff were nice. Discreet and we barely noticed anyone. The guest services and reception staff spoke good English and although they were abrupt they dealt with us efficiently and we had no problems. The bar staff we fine. Restaurant staff were quiet and just got on with it. I would say that if you're looking for a hotel where you can have banter with the staff, this won't be the holiday for you.
I hope this helps anyone thinking of booking.
We wouldn't book again in a rush, but that's not a reflection on the hotel and more to do with us wanting to try different areas and maybe would like to choose somewhere with a nicer local area.
I can say that I definitely miss it! We had a great time!

Me and my husband came to Swandor for a 10 night stay. Here are our thoughts and tips on a couple of points:
*Rooms - The rooms were lovely. Very clean and the mini bar was restocked daily with soft drinks and snacks. The bathroom had complementary toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, razor, shaving gel, buffer, Toothbrush, toothpaste) and these were restocked whenever you needed them to be. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom, which wasn't that powerful, but did the job fine. Aircon was great.
*Room location and Lifts - We were in block 5 and whilst we were happy with the location (close to pool), after the first day the lifts in our block broke. They would be fixed and 5 hours later broken again. This was not ideal (especially as we were on the 5th floor!). As 2 able bodied 30 year olds, it was just more of an inconvenience to us, but I don't know how people with prams / disabilities coped during this!
*Pool - The pool area was huge and very clean. Music and entertainment throughout the day. Bring your own cups for the pool as the glasses you get are tiny (which means you have to get refills more often). We took a big Thermos and asked them to fill it with fanta/ sprite etc, which they were happy to do. I did see other reviews mentioning smashed glass, there was a few instsnces of this, however staff were quick to clean this up, so wasnt too much of a problem. Make sure you are down by 8 if you want multiple sunbeds together.
*Onsite shop - The onsite shop was very expensive, so make sure you bring everything you might need (extra snacks for the room, pool Inflatables, extra suncream etc).
*Entertainment - Entertainment was good, there was a great mix of things to do. Some of the shows in the amphitheatre were amazing, however there wasn't enough seating for everyone so a lot of people stood by the sides. The live music every night in the square was always good and we loved the 'party' nights in Xone bar on Tuesdays and Sundays. The Irish bar did not open, which was a disappointment - but I rechecked Jet2 website and it is advertised as only being open in the winter.
*Food - The food was varied, however depending on what time you arrived at the restaurant, it could often feel overcrowded and we struggled to get a table a few nights. I would definitely recommend the free a la carte restaurant. It's a Turkish food set menu and feels a bit more special than the main restaurant. The ice cream by the beach was a really nice 'Mr whippy' style, which we loved.
* Pier Cabanas - The pier cabanas were 165 euros and worth every penny for the space you get (compared to around the pool which can often be quite tight). We did it one day and loved the luxury. You order your food and drinks directly to the cabana.
Normal Pier - There was a second Pier with regular sunbeds and a pier bar. We found this to be much less busy than the pool and could get a bed any time of day. There were access stairs to the sea dotted around. We also found that there was more of a breeze on this pier vs the pool so was a good place to cool off.
Overall a great hotel. It did feel busy but that's what you get in the school holidays.

We went with a family of three, lived in a family room consisting of two rooms. Every room had a minibar, and every day it was filled with soft drinks and snacks. It's not a big number. All bathroom facilities were also replenished as required. If anything was needed, they reacted quickly, 5-10 minutes and it's in your room. No bathrobes in summer. The property is large, well maintained, 2 towel outlets, many bars. The food is varied, the fish every day, as we noticed once a week a lot of seafood falls, which is very pleasing. Everything is delicious, everyone will find their favorite dishes. The staff at the restaurant are smart, constantly coming up to offer drinks, clean up, one smile worth it. The beach is clean, there are lots of sunbeds, the pier is just huge. All drinks on the beach fall in glass and without tubes, well done, environmentally friendly. Mojito was great. The sea in September is like warm milk. Free hammam, but in need of repair. In the evening, the amphitheatre hosts performances, live music plays on the street bar, and a nightclub operates inside the hotel once a week. We had a flight late in the evening, the room can be extended either a great option, all things move to a separate building/turnkey room, free service, there is also a shower, a refrigerator with water. Thank you, it was super convenient.
Please the hotel - arrange large dryers for things on the balcony and cleaning of rooms could be slightly improved (a wet cloth walk is not cleaning).
Otherwise, it's just super, thank you so much for your hard work.

Swandor Hotel has the potential to be a great family resort- food in the main restaurant is great, but it’s only open for very limited time for dinner which means that it’s crazy busy and people struggle to find seats. The rooms are a nice size but the maid does a bear minimum when it comes to making up the rooms each day. To be honest we had to redo the beds each morning. She was also tight with topping up the essentials e.g not toilet roll unless you specifically ask for it.
There is also limited spaces to sit outside unless you want to be next to the pool or beach. No benches or tables outside. Also there is no women only pool. Also avoid eating food in the Divan Restaurant- it’s very limited and literally left over food such as watery spaghetti. Tastes like bland school dinners.
Also hardly any of the staff speak English so trying to communicate is very difficult. Fellow guest start helping teach other. Also the staff have very limited knowledge and are not very helpful - the automatic response tends to be I don’t know rather than let me find out. Staff are rude. When you check-in they hand you a card which just the names of the restaurant but no other info so as a guest you need to figure out essential info on the facilities available such as restaurant menus, info on entertainment (if any), location of the pools, what else is included as a part of the inclusive package etc. this means that you miss out on things because you don’t know about it which is very frustrating.
Also don’t book cabs through the hotel- they will quote you in dollars, pounds or euros which is double the fare. I fell into this trap for the first few days until a fellow guest stepped in and asked in Turkish why the employee had just quoted me a price in euro which was double what he had been quoted in lira’s for the same trip with same number as f passengers. The employee was quick to backdown and I ended up paying half the price so beware.
In terms of entertainment- limited options unless you like sitting in the sun all day or being in the pool. The kids arcade only opens at night. There is two table tennis but queues are very long.
Drinks are very limited- no slashes or mocktails. 3 options of fizzy drinks. Snacks are limited too - left over food. The items in the mini bar are very limited - one crisp and one pretzels- same flavour and brand every day. 2 cans of drinks plus one bottle of water. No variety as all.
Also trying to get hold of anyone at the hotel is very hard. They don’t respond to emails at all so you can’t reach them before the trip and once you’re there if you try calling reception- good luck - u will be waiting 30 mins at least and a few hours before you get your request.
If you’re given a ground floor room, make sure you bring mosquito repellent and aftercare cream as the rooms as full of mosquitoes - reception staff don’t react when reported so come prepared to be bitten.
Overall - would rate this hotel as 3 star hotel. There is definitely better hotel with great customer service. The Swandor hotel doesn’t compare unfortunately.

Dear Guest, First of all, we would like to thank you on behalf of the Swandor Topkapı Palace family for your comments. Regarding the matters you declared; Our facility has a very large location on an area of 85 thousand meters2. The area our facility covers and the number of guests it hosts are directly proportional. Therefore, the number of tables and chairs in general areas and restaurants has its own mathematics and is sufficient. In addition, more than 900 personnel in our facility serve our valued guests. Each of them is experienced and expert in their field. We would like to state that we do not agree with the statement that they do not know a foreign language. The card given to you at the entrance does not only contain restaurant names; if you had checked the card carefully, you could also see the application of our hotel and the WhatsApp number of guest relations, and all this information is given to you by the Reception at the time of entry. Regarding your feedback about the Shop and Taxi service, we would like to clarify that these facilities are independently operated and are not under our management. However, we are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your feedback is important to us. We will pass your comments on to the relevant service providers and encourage them to ensure their prices are fair and transparent. In general, it is a very thought-provoking situation that you are not satisfied with almost any of the services of our facility and that there is nothing that satisfies you among all the services you benefit from. The satisfaction of all our guests is our priority. In this sense, any feedback is valuable to us as long as it reflects the truth and is objective. Best regards, Swandor Topkapı Palace Management

A two week family holiday for four of us. Having been on a number of all inclusive holidays now, I have mixed reviews about this hotel.
Pros being: * good standard of food (although very repetitive / samey) * good premium drinks offerings * pools and beach are good
Cons: * can’t get seated at dinner / breakfast- and several times I’ve had to clear and redress tables myself. * the food is the same food all the time and all the salads are incredibly salty. * the restaurant times just don’t work. Several times we’ve entered the restaurant whilst the restaurant is still open but the staff have cleared it away before we had finished getting our dinner / breakfast. I really think you need to look hard at this and keep it open for an extra hour and you wouldn’t need the late breakfast at all. * staff are hit and miss - you can tell who love their job and who don’t care * rooms aren’t great for family’s - no where to store 4 large cases and lighting is inadequate * our room location has been awful as situated next to the neighbouring hotel - kitchen team start early and it’s all you can hear - including the continuous recycling emptying at unkind hours to sleeping residents * Al a carte restaurant is really quite bad. It’s a set menu and no good substitutes for any veggies. * you can only go to the a la carte once during your stay, there are two other restaurants but you need to pay extra for them which is harsh when you consider how much you pay for the holiday in total. * entertainment - it’s not geared / inclusive for all guests. The entertainment team walk around and speak to a lot of guests but can’t converse with us as they don’t speak English. * Irish bar has not been open the whole time we have been here. * horrible smell in sports bar
All in all it’s a great place however it’s very remotely located and no where / easy way to get about. It’s a smokers paradise which is not great for your asthmatics guest. For us, it’s just too big and I can’t allow my kids to just walk around by themselves comfortably as they have been shouted at by other countries guests for just being kids (jumping in the pool). Our first impression was a bit strained having to walk around in the early hours trying to find our room by ourselves as no one would help us staff wise. And finally, I hope the hotel do recycle all the plastic water cups as it seems like a horrendous cost to the environment.

We had a fabulous holiday in the Swandor. We had read some negative reviews and I am glad we didn’t take any notice. The whole stay was wonderful. The cleaners work tirelessly all day, every day from the main dining areas, toilets, to the rooms. Our room cleaner was the lovelies wee woman! The food aspect is another level. If you can’t find something to eat in the main dining area, the 3 al a cartes or the snack bar- then there is something wrong with your tastebuds. The food was plentiful and varied. From even having a baby station, diet, vegan and egg free options etc. they cater for everyone. The alcohol is brand names and cocktails are delicious! The entertainment was brilliant we watched a few shows in the amphitheater which we enjoyed. The party nights in xone wer our favourite- they go all out and you feel like you’re at a proper night out lol the bar staff again work tirelessly in there also! Shout out to Ally! The square for music and drinks was also great with all our table servers being lovely, friendly and happy. I think previous reviews stating staff are unhappy or unfriendly may be due to the way they are treated- kindness costs nothing, and please and thank you go a long way. We didn’t come across one rude employee our whole holiday. The things on for the kids was fabulous as stated my sons are young men, but I was able to have a wander around a see what they had on offer for younger kids, and it really was endless. Even the kids having their own wee area with music, dancing, activities etc it’s was brilliant! People we spoke to said their kids loved it. I took part in the morning yoga which I loved. The entertainment team wer great also and really encouraged everyone to get involved. My son took part in the survivor game which we all enjoyed. Often in the afternoon many of the guys would play football together which my sons enjoyed. We had a day in the cabanas on the pier and that was an amazing day. Waiter service and lovely food and drinks brought along, it was so relaxing we also met a lovely bunch of people whilst there who made our holiday more memorable. Yes the shop on site is expensive but they usually are, get a taxi along the road and you will get what you need in five mins for a fraction of the price. There are plenty pools and places to sunbathe we often went down to the pier at the beach each day for a drink and to get the sea breeze. The whippy ice cream at the beach was great also and we enjoyed the patisserie. The hotel also has a great late luggage area which we wer grateful for as we could fully enjoy our last day. The hotel and grounds are kept very well also. As a whole we enjoyed our time in this hotel and we would most definitely stay again and advise others too. We made great memories as a family, and met lovely humans who made our time more memorable. The hotel really has thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable.

Hotels in this Area are known for Premium quality. I would say this hotel tries to be that way. You can see it in one of my previous hotel reviews (just next to this hotel - east), and I couldn’t compare much to it. It was very good and the price was too high. I would like to highlight the pros and cons of this Hotel, and the rest are already good enough. But I want to highlight it. My opinion (!) Benefits & Benefits: (-) I think the pool area could be a little bigger (of course there’s nothing they can do at this stage) and we didn’t really think about hygiene in the crowds. But the Aqua Park was beautifully designed and we were very pleased. (-) I was annoyed that the indoor pool was really indoor. They don’t open the indoor pool in warm temps. If they open, maybe the large pool’s space isn’t too big for the crowds. (-) Hotel rooms are located in blocks. I would obviously like to walk through my room in the indoor and naturally air-conditioned surroundings. Some summer vibe provided. It may be good for some, but I don’t like it. (+) There’s another “quiet pool” and it’s beautiful. Once the bees came, the kids were scared once or twice, so action could be taken. But it’s ideal for those seeking tranquility. (+) Good Service. Every staff is working fuse. In the meantime, we had the Turkish Match, thank you to the friendly waitress Beyza, the drinks bar near the pool, and Mr. Emre at the reception for their kind approach. (+) Food was successful. The meat-seeking dishes are unavoidable. They need to pay attention to the quality of the shrimp. Seafood could have been given some extra weight. (+) Cleanliness and room service very good. - But the minibar seems insufficient. I don’t, but I can tell those interested that the minibar contains no alcohol. I didn’t know the high drink prices seemed to have affected this area. Plus, there''s plenty of paid drinks at the bar. (+) The Children's Area is very good. (+) Amphitheater activities aren’t bad, either. We watched Kyvanç and Burak and it was a success. I like the outdoor nightclub and indoor disco. For accommodations, I recommend requesting rooms from the front desk for amenities. Our room was looking at the staff section of the Kremlin hotel next door. (4. Block) But when the balcony door closed, there was no sound. If the room categories match, I think if you see the quiet pool, you can opt for them.

Please ignore all the bad reviews and read this one!!
I booked this hotel with my boyfriend’s family in April and we visited at the end of September, I was very sceptical due to the bad reviews about illness, rude people and bad food. Please ignore them !!
Firstly the hotel its self is absolutely beautiful, very well looked after and so clean in every part of the hotel. It’s the biggest hotel I have ever been to with so many things to do during the day to keep you entertained. They constantly have some type of entertainment at the hotel which is open for all ages to get involved in such as; darts, water polo and foam party’s etc. The pool party was the highlight for me, please be aware to wrap up any of your belonging in a towel and hide it behind you as everything and everyone will get soaked!
Now onto the food, the food here really did suprise me. I usually would not go for an all inclusive hotel and was worried that I would regret it after seeing the reviews about the food, I was completely wrong. Breakfast - breakfast was the biggest downfall as there weren’t many options and every day was the same, however they have your basics that were very nice like omelettes, yoghurt and pastries. Lunch - now lunch was my favourite. You could either eat lunch in the main hall which would have the most delicious chicken kebabs along with many more tasty options or at the beach snack bar which had chicken nuggets, pizza, burgers and hot dogs, all of which were very tasty. Dinner - some nights were better than other in my opinion, for example some nights has tasty duck with hoisin sauce and wraps which were my favourite and other nights there was Chinese style curries which were delicious but majority of nights were similar food each night. Even though the food got repetitive towards my 10 day holiday I still did not get sick of the food. Every night had the following options for dinner; pizza, pastas, rices, kebab, cooked veg, cooked meats and lots of salads. For both lunch and dinner in the main hall there are so many different dessert options, many are quite tasteless apart from the Turkish deserts, my boyfriend also loved the eclairs and profiteer rolls.
Overall I was a big fan of the food and out of 6 of us none of us got ill from it.
The drinks were nice at the hotel but cocktails were very basic unless you went to the bar above reception, in this bar they were amazing so definitely try these out!
Rooms are very spacious and the beds are unbelievably comfy, maids come every day and make sure the rooms are exceptionally clean.
The location of the hotel isn’t ideal however I would you getting the bus into the town instead of cab as the cabs made me feel a little unsafe and very over priced. The bus comes every 20 mins from just over the road left of the hotel, the bus stop is a sign that has a big D on it and is blue. The bus costs only 55p each way.
Overall I would highly recommend Swandor Topkapi Palace to anyone and it really made my first trip to Turkey a good one.

Many people who come here will love this resort type " Palace " hotel . The appeal is to large family groups particularly with young children and those who want to stay by the pools , drink a lot and not go further afield . Its was a case of quantity rather than quality in most areas. The location is also long way from the main centre ( Antalya)with poor public transport - even the local town is not walkable for all and requires a car or taxis .Overall It isn't good for everyone and flatters to deceive - particularly if you want a quieter stay, despite being marketed as being "peaceful and secluded " - it is not .
Pros
- [ ] Very grand with excellent facilities - even a night club and a medical surgery. - [ ] Lots of varied entertainment of a high standard with events -e.g an Oktoberfest. - [ ] Very helpful and efficient staff. - [ ] Big variety of food. - [ ] Spectacular views from the Tower. - [ ] Excellent rooms. - [ ] Good value on an all inclusive package.
Cons
- [ ] Plenty of food and drink but quality of both very average, even the a la carte which was nothing special. - [ ] Very noisy throughout the day and night from the loud pool music all day to the concerts and night club until midnight and past on some nights. - [ ] Pool water was very cold , many people complained. - [ ] Hotel beach poor - gritty sand , sharp drop to water not appealing. - [ ] Location not good needed a bus or taxi ride into Lara town , probably a good 30 mins walk otherwise .
For us ( couple ) who like to explore the locality the cons outweighed the pros , but many will give this 5 Stars. Its really depends what you want , the hotel should stop selling itself as " an amazing all rounder in a peaceful location" . This is a big bustling noisy resort hotel - albeit a very well run one.

One of the worst hotels we've ever been to. We lived in building 1, asked for 2 rooms next to each other, and ended up getting them on the 1st and 6th floors, although our tour operator had also warned us earlier. First of all, I would like to talk about drinks that are not worth a 5-star hotel with Ultra All Inclusive. There are no basic sodas, the minibar provides chips, straws, Pepsi, peach juice and tasteless Turkish alternatives to 7up and Mirinda with strange names. In bars, all these juices are poured from a machine, diluted, with the same terrible taste, tried it, never drank it again. Alcoholic drinks are ordinary, nothing special, the promised imported alcohol was paid for, including Red Bull, although again, it is considered that the hotel is ultra all inclusive. The cuisine is not bad, sometimes it’s tasty, sometimes it’s not, the main restaurant is large, but that’s just the view, as all the positions are placed several times in different places, so the illusion of abundance is created. It is worth noting that on Sunday, apparently it was a fish day, both squid and octopus were served, it was delicious. Desserts are also tasty only once in a while, we love baklava with pistachios, unfortunately we never had them (only a la carte) other desserts are all the same type. There are no complaints about the a la carte restaurants, everything is very tasty, especially Khyurrem (which you can visit at lunch without a limit) and Hanedan (the breakfasts are very tasty, the administrator is a very nice girl, she greeted you, saw you off, etc.), everything was very tasty. The rooms are not bad, everything you need is there, but the only thing is that the bed linen is a little old, with pills. In terms of service, there are also no questions, very pleasant waitresses, especially the Kyrgyz girls, always served very well, even in such heat they did not show any signs and worked tirelessly, from one restaurant to another. There are no questions about cleaning. The cleaning lady is a very nice woman, she always communicated with us friendly, even though we didn’t know Turkish). The location of the hotel is inconvenient, there is absolutely nothing nearby, you have to take a bus or a taxi, which is supervised by only one man at a very inflated price, other taxis do not go from here, no matter how many times you call. In general, the impressions were mixed, but we will not return here again
