We stayed here for 1 night. The outside of the building is beautiful as are the grounds. I was also impressed with the swimming pool and the health suite facilities however we were really disappointed with the rooms. Like many people have mentioned they were very tired looking and dated. My mums room had a huge stain on the sofa and the blind which was quite off putting. My friends room was very dark and it had a horrible musty smell. Another plus point were that the staff we encountered were all nice and friendly. It’s such a shame as it could be made into a lovely hotel if it was refurbished to a good standard.

Following a 3 night stay at hotel ( Sept 2021) with a Group of people just wanted to share my thoughts. Really pleasant and welcoming hotel, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast superb selection luv the Corker sausage along with back bacon, avocado with poached eggs & eggs Benedict were most welcomed by other guests. I personally thought the vegetables with Main courses the best I have received in any Hotel, plentiful cooked to perfection. Room 41 had an issue which was quickly resolved to my satisfaction. All in all a lovely stay just wanted to share my experience of a dog friendly hotel.

Stayed as an end of Summer mini break with husband, teenage son and dog. Chose it because of location and dog friendly. All reviews are subjective and therefore everything I say is my opinion only. Let's start with some positives: Dogs welcome Pool is warm and a great way to entertain a teenager for an hour or two Staff are friendly and welcoming Bar man was great and worked really hard. Catered for gluten free really well Nice garden and grounds and close to Rye, Camber Very clean throughout the hotel Areas for improvement: In my opinion the hotel needs some capital investment to upgrade the dated decor. We had a junior suite which was large and gave my son his own separate bedroom. However, it was really disappointing in terms of the bathroom and bedroom furniture. Heavy pine c1970s and very old sanitary ware with a cracked sink and squeaky taps. The shower was barely a trickle and my husband said "you need to run around in it to get wet" Service at meal times was a tad slow. We had dinner one night and the food arrived but we had no cutlery. In the end I asked the receptionist for some as we couldn't see any waiting staff to ask. Breakfast was also slow for service, especially if you are in the area for dog owners. Nothing major to complain about in this hotel but I do feel it was too expensive for what it was. My two night stay was over £600 including breakfast and one evening meal, and only a couple of drinks. I have stayed in similar style hotels with comparable prices that have not had any of the above niggles, including Champneys resorts and The Grand in Brighton. It just didn't hit the special treat factor I was hoping for.

I booked a stay to celebrate my mums 60th birthday. First impressions were lovely, the outside is beautiful and the grounds are well kept with plenty of seating. Check in went smoothly and the staff were welcoming. The room was a little tired looking and the bathroom definitely needs updating, but it was clean, just slightly disappointing considering how the rest of the hotel was presented. Unfortunately we were placed in room 11 which was directly above the kitchens. Being summer the room was stuffy and we had no option but to open the windows, the smell of food cooking was completely overpowering. My mum fell asleep early or I would have requested a room change. The bins outside attracted fly and mosquitos so I woke up with around 10 bites. Breakfast was lovely and the dining room is lovely. We did speak to the receptionist when we checked out and stated that they should be placing anyone in that room during the summer months, we got a vacant sorry and that she would notify the manager. All in all a disappointing stay especially considering it was a special occasion, we wouldn't recommend or return.

We stayed at Flackley Ash for 2 nights for a wedding close by, tempted by the spa facilities. The spa and gym were good. However the walls of our room were so thin we could hear the people next door talking as well as the people the other side snoring all night. It was like they were in the same room as us. I did not sleep a wink. There are no power sockets next to the bed , frustrating when most people use their phone as an alarm clock when travelling. The shower was awful - no power and not hot enough. It took me forever to rinse conditioner out of my long hair !! Shower was so old it dripped randomly in the night and kept us awake. Rooms are in serious need of an update. To add to the noise factor a dog was in the room below us and barked intermittently throughout the night. When I asked several times to move rooms due to noise I was told it was not possible. The breakfast was massively over priced and toast burnt to a black crisp. For dinner we ordered from the restaurant a rare steak which came out so over done I couldn’t eat it. Do yourselves a favour and don’t waste your money. I shall not be staying again.
