A really lovely hotel with good facilities in an amazing location, overlooking the village and sea.
Kind, friendly and helpful staff
Comfortable beds, spotlessly clean rooms and bathroom
Towels changed and room cleaned daily
Special Toiletries, shampoo and shower gel provided. Locally produced with olive oil.
Beautiful pool area and good pool bar
Excellent food - we took half board. A lovely buffet every evening. Stacks of fresh produce and a good variety. I am gluten intolerant and had plenty I could eat.

Access is uphill on quite a steep road. It’s fine if you are reasonably fit but would be difficult or impossible if you had mobility problems. You could get a taxi from the hotel.

The weather was tremendous. We took the seven islands boat trip from Nidri
It cost €35 for the whole day.
The trip was booked for us by the Jet2 representative who visited when we phoned. She supplied the tickets and organised a taxi from the hotel. It all worked perfectly.
This was such a lovely day - swimming at two different stunning beaches, inaccessible except by sea, visiting Fiskardo in Kefalonia which is incredibly pretty and going around the islands of Scorpio to see where Onassis lived.

The lady from Jet 2 also gave us advice about local buses and beaches
We went to Lefkada town twice
We saw the churches, the archeological museum, the market square and war memorial. We walked along the beautiful sea front marina which is being extensively renovated and lovely new paving laid and visited cafes and shops.

All in all a lovely relaxing holiday
Would throughly recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised. Nice rooms, cleaned every day. The balcony is a bit small and the chairs and table are outdated. A very noisy fridge that woke us up at night - these are the only drawbacks. Everything else was excellent, the ladies at the reception were helpful and kind. We would definitely return to the hotel.

The city beach is accessible on foot, but it is very crowded. From this beach you can swim to the Milos hidden beach (hidden beach behind the rocks). You can also walk to Milos beach, but again it is difficult in the heat. We walked along the west coast through Kathisma, Avali... to Megali Petra beach and further - about 18 km in total, but the views were worth it.

The hotel is located on a really steep hill. Not suitable for the less physically fit. But the reward is a beautiful view from the terrace.

The food is great and tasty, breakfast is the same every day, but there is everything you need. At dinner, the meat and side dishes were varied, everything was also very good, we enjoyed it.

You can ask for umbrellas at the reception, which you can borrow and use for the entire stay.

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay here! The room was neat and tidy the bed was really comfortable and big! The balcony has stunning views of the sea and greenery. The breakfast was lovely and although not a huge choice it was perfect for us with a nice little selection. We stayed for the dinner buffet one night and that was lovely. The staff are friendly, but especially Antonios! The bartender, we became good friends with him, he was very friendly , welcoming, kind and made us the best cocktails! We were very sad to leave but would definitely return. The hotel is in a good location walking distance to the shops/restaurants and choice of beaches nearby. Although the little road up to the hotel is steep, the views from the back of the hotel are just beautiful! Overall we just loved our stay!!

Very nice clean hotel, 5 minutes to Agios Nikitas where you can find a lot of restaurants and shops. 10 minutes to the beach. Hotel have also a pool with bar. We have been 9 days, with breakfast and dinner. The food is nothing special but for this price you can't ask more.

Santa Marina Hotel surpassed my expectations. It is a peaceful place surrounded by beautiful views and countryside. The hotel had a relaxed a friendly atmosphere. A short walk downhill to the lovely resort centre. However, this would not be suitable for people with walking difficulties, as it is quite steep on the way home!
We were half board and the breakfast was very nice and the staff are very helpful. The views from the terrace are stunning. Pool area was nice, and it felt like you had your own space. The hotel could do with replacing some of their sun beds.
Our room was pleasant, good air conditioning and very comfortable beds. My only criticism is that the pillows were not very good. I would definitely return to this hotel for the relaxed atmosphere and location.

The location is amazing, so lovely, very charming. Beach Agios Nikitas is close and very beautiful. If you want to see other beaches you need a car. To Mylos beach you can have an easy walk over the hill... it is worth it, totally!
Room is cosy, breakfast nice , also dinner.

I will come again. <3

Excellent hotel for the price, nice staff, rooms cleaned every day, but be warned. The hotel sits approx 400 yards up a very steep climb from the main road. OK if you are fit and healthy, but a lot of older people were finding it very difficult.

We have spent 3 days in this hotel. It is not a fancy hotel but the location is perfect close to the village and Milos and Agios Nikitas beaches and tavernas. Good size room with breathtaking view and the garden is also beautiful. The lady at the reception was very kind.

We spent 5 wonderful days at Santa Marina on the beautiful island of Lefkada. The entire hotel was clean, including our room, with maid service everyday. The staff was great, polite, and helpful with anything we needed. The hotel is in a prime location, high on a mountain, overlooking the town and the beach, with breathtaking views. It also offered a great pool, which was fabulous for the kids. Many thanks to Stefanos (Manager) and the rest of the staff. I would definitely go back.

Well, we had a fantastic experience in the summer of 2011. You need to know why you are coming to Agios Nikitas. I am a serious beach bum, and I have nowhere seen better beaches than on Lefkada's west coast. Nidri has all the conveniences, but it is far from good beaches and you *will* be swamped by tens of thousands of others who want their conveniences. Agios Nikitas is a different world, sort of the last post before you hit the sparsely inhabited west coast and its amazing, amazing beaches. And Santa Marina is perched on top of the village, a little out of the 100 meters of "downtown". So you're kinda running away from it all, and then a little more. The geography of the place, we thought, was second to none.

We specifically asked for a room with a sea view, and we were extremely happy with what we got. Not every room will have a breathtaking view (they do have some package groups too), but you can always deal with the hotel directly when you're making the reservation and ask for whatever is important for you - I'm sure they'll be honest and you'll get what they promise. There is al fresco breakfast (which was included for us) and dinner. The dinner was extra, but it was at an extremely reasonable rate and a very good value for the occasional night that you don't feel like going out. The room was within expectations for Greece. This is not a luxury hotel - remember you're supposed to be here for the beaches - but everything was clean, tasteful, and functional, and the room service was impeccable. The staff were also very helpful and accommodating. We arrived very late after a long drive and they served us a nice cold beer by candlelight even though it was past their hours. It was just a standard Mythos but, by God, we *so* needed that beer and the staff understood it. The hotel is close to mediterranean forest, and the outside dining has great views of the sea, landscapes, forest, and the village. There is free wireless internet in the reception area.

I can believe that not everyone had as great of an experience as we did, but I really can't think of anything that went seriously wrong during our two weeks. I've been to Greece four times, of which twice to Lefkada, and this place wins hands down.

Once you're there... Take a quick boat ride around the cape to the Mylos beach. Go to Porto Katsiki and to Egremni (with its 300 steps to climb). Go for the lamb chops under the huge plane trees in Karya. Go for the fish at the Zolythros in Mykros Gialos. Taste the thyme honey in Dragano and Athani. See the sunset at Cape Lefkas. Go for a small boat tour of nearby islands (not the big "cruises" with millions of others). Go for a sunset dinner at a nearby cliff-top Panorama restaurant with a breathtaking view (10 minutes drive south). Eat a lot of Greek food. Also, don't forget to rent a car. The best stuff is totally not reachable without one.
