Detailed Reviews
Pam and Bruce welcomed upon arrival on our bikes as we cycle the Rail Trail. The lovely accommodation with its mud brick walls, beautifully decorated and warm was just what we needed. Fresh muffins, fruit and nibbles and a lovely continental breakfast made our stay very enjoyable. Across the road to the Lauder Pub for dinner to finish the day. Thanks so much Pam and Bruce for your wonderful hospitality.

Very nice accommodation. Old historic building with a clean and modern interior. Lovely hosts which were super helpful and made sure we were well looked after. Good breakfast included. Super close to the rail trail, offers free WiFi, awesome selection hot drinks and a super comfy bed.

We stayed here on a three day cycling trip through to Clyde and the property is very cute. Initially we were going to eat at the pub across the road, but this has closed down. The owners of Lauder Store said they would arrange for us to be transported to the nearby Omakau Commercial Hotel for dinner instead. We were picked up on time and driven there for dinner, but at the end, $10 was added to the food bill for a transport fee. We didn’t have an issue paying this, but it should have been disclosed up front.
The beds were okay, but none of us had a fantastic sleep. The spa was a great experience to wind down after a long day. Half of the jets weren’t working though.
Breakfast was included but we were only provided with 5 slices of bread for 4 of us, which felt a little stingy.

Hi. We are sorry you had to pay for your dinner transport. We were complete unaware that there was a charge. This has never happened before. We will look into it. We have never had a bad report about the beds so find it hard to understand? We have checked the spa jets and they are all working perfectly. Couldn’t understand why you had trouble getting them going. So sorry you wanted more bread. We wished you had asked for more. We hope the rest of your trip went smoothly and the weather stayed great. Kind Regards Pam & Bruce

Travelled 1.5 hours from Queenstown to hire a bike tried to contact owners from the details on their website on your bike hire with no response. When arrived to the Launder store contacted them off a different number which they answered replying that they were not open for business and they were currently overseas in Australia. Frustrating to lose 3 hours in driving and time lost on our holiday as they should have updated the website to warn people they are not open for business. VERY disappointing!

Truly wonderful hosts. Even had a beer in the fridge for after the day on the rail trail.
Incredibly clean and tastefully decorated with original mud brick walls exposed. Very warm, great breakfast. We were able to park our bikes in the garage overnight

My sister, niece and I rode the rail trail in February and had the pleasure of being hosted by Esme and Bruce at the Lauder Store B&B for an overnight stay. Even though they must host many guests, Esme and Bruce were truly welcoming, showing us through the property, explaining the history of the accommodation and the town. The property was very comfortable, spacious, spotlessly clean and the plate of home made cookies, delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommend it to other travellers.
