It seems we were staying at a different venue to other reviewers as this was the worst place we stayed in our 23 day tour of New Zealand. We stayed two nights . Our room was small and on the ground floor near the front door and we had noise from the road especially early in the morning. Our host...

Our room was small, but comfortable. We were beside a busy road, but the traffic noise died down by nightfall. Good breakfast. Accommodation quite a distance from the centre of Nelson. Host's father has a restaurant in Nelson and arranged free transport there and back for us. Dinner was good.

The room was beautiful and very clean. The host was very helpful with everything we needed to know. The breakfast was very nice with cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt and a choice of cooked breakfast cooked freshly which I really appreciated after many horrible buffet style hotel breakfast. The breakfast tables were set out immaculately with nice quaint China, cutlery and glass.A real personal...

A heritage property in a residential area one block from Richmond's Queen Street, the centre of the shopping and eating area. Great hospitality from Jordan, the owner's son, who manages the place almost single handed. A comfortable stay with a family feel. Fittings and decor a little tired but non the worse for it. The family ancestors came over (in...

The house is a restored antique belonging to descendents of the first European settlers in New Zealand. The house is furnished in period style with a pleasant lounge, sunny dining room and comfortable rooms. The proprietors, Jordan and his Partner, take great pride and do all the gardening, cleaning, cooking. They make their own yoghurt, jam from their fruit trees...

We stayed at Kershaw House in november 2016 during the earthquake. They were a fantastic help when we needed to find new places to sleep because of the disaster in Kaikoura. In general very helpful and nice people. - They took the time to contact our agent in New Zealand - Great breakfast and dinner - Fantastic home-baked cookies.

I am left wondering how to score this place - as ever, start with the positives:- Room was clean, a decent size and adequately presented. The breakfast was cooked to order and more than ample (lunch not required!). So what next? The property is in a residential part of Richmond (not Nelson) alongside a reasonably busy road, especially in commuter...

We were sent to Kershaw's as we couldn't go on to Kaikoura because of the earthquake. It's an older heritage type property. Our room was fine and the bed was very comfy. A bit more shelving in the bathroom would make storage a bit better. The breakfast was good. There was a fair selection of fruit and cereals. The best...

Beautiful home , with two great 4 legged friends and the hosts were extremely helpful. They went the extra mile to make sure we got our ballots for the US election which missed us at their home. We had a great visit and we're grateful for their help.

This was our second 5 nights stay, and we are pencilled in for next year, which speaks for itself. The lovely Kershaw House could not be better. Breakfasts, hot, cold or both, are excellent and according to your requirements. Dinner is by arrangement and Phill buys to your preferences. Many ingredients are grown on the premises. We dined in 3...
