We spent three nights here on our summer holidays. The room was clean and tidy but a little dated. This was priced accordingly though.
Our hosts were wonderful, helpful and friendly.
Free wifi, bbq and pool facilities which were great.
This not a high end luxury facility and is not advertised as one. But for a cheaply priced motel in beautiful sunny Richmond/Nelson I would highly recommend it.
We had a wonderfull time and would definitely stay again.

As per the other reviews, it is very run down and needs a very good clean. Yes there is a pool but not sure it's been used for years.

BBQ area awful. Picnic tables hidden out back of rooms and you wouldn't want to sit there.

From the outside, it looks tidy but do not stay in room 1 or 12. Both near the main road and very very noisy.

Old crappy bathrooms but it's cheap so you get what you pay for and what we paid was worthy of what we got. If your expectations are standard then you won't be disappointed

Lovely and clean. Appreciate the fact we can have our dogs stay with us. Hard to find pet friendly accommodation that is also to the standard of this motel. We were attending the dog show just down the road so this motel was so convenient to the venue. There was a pool we didn't use but the children of others seemed to like it. Walking distance to good restaurants and supermarkets so all in all an enjoyable weekend.

We just stayed overnight but we were not impressed at all. The whole place was filthy! Complained to owners as we also booked a renovated room but were given an older room so we did get a discount but would never stay here again. They said they would talk to the cleaner but the place hadn't been properly cleaned in months . Disgusting, I didn't want to touch anything 😫

slept on one side of the bed and found 3 hairs of unknown person underneath the sheet!
found a dead fly on the shower floor and a puddle of water indicating it hasn't been cleaned.
shower tap had old soap scum on it...
microwave tap also had old sticky gunk on it.
clock wasn't even set, perhaps just as an ornament?
gave 2 muffins which I thought was thoughtful but all the other made me feel yuck.
think before you choose.

Hi there, Thank you for your review, I'm not sure why you had these issues here as we pride ourselves on our cleanliness as stated by the majority of our reviews. Our sheets are fresh every checkin direct from our linen provider but i will raise the issue with them about hair being on the sheets. As nelson is a very warm region sadly there is not much we can do in regards to flies except for spraying. We do check as best after spraying but can miss one. All our rooms are checked by a different person once cleaned so i'm not sure how any water was on the shower floor. Also i'm unsure of what you mean by the "Mircowave Tap". As for the clock as guests tend to unplug these often it may of been missed to be reset or if the bed was moved a bit it may of been unplugged. We do encourage all our guests to come to us right away if there is any issues as we would of fixed any problems right away for you.

We booked an accessible unit months in advance, arrive at this motel after a seven hour drive.. to be given a non accessible unit. Couldn't get powerchairs into bedrooms or bathroom. Shower had a big step up into it as well.
The room we were meant to have was booked out to a disabled person on a long stay over 5 months or so.
Motel owner tried blaming booking.com for the muck up..
Very poor experience and wouldn't recommend this motel if you're needing accessibility.pp

We are very sorry for your experience with us, this matter was looked into at great detail at the time and due to an error in the systems between booking.com and our system something went wrong and allocated you the non disabled unit.

If you can get it cheap and it's only for a night cause you need it, then yes it is suitable for that. The road noise is quiet bad, the walls are also very thin, so if there is a baby crying next door you know about it. There was mould growing on the ranch slider and window frames. The drawer and cupboard handles were noticeably grubby, as were the light switches. The shower was tiny (and I'm a child's size 12, 5ft, very petite chick so I don't need much space), hardly any water pressure. Also there was no fire alarm in the unit, although required by law to have one. When I mentioned this I was told they have had a lot of stuff stolen from rooms. Make of that response what you will.

My husband and I are wandering around NZ for a month for our honeymoon and spent 3 nights here to wind down in the middle of our trip and take a break from driving. Great location to visit wineries and fish in some of the streams nearby. Our room was clean and included many extras that we appreciated (kitchen, tea, coffee, towels, etc...). Breakfast and laundry available for a small fee. Staff was very kind, attentive and polite. There is a volunteer fire station nearby and their siren has gone off 1 to 2 times per day, but aside from that it's a very quiet neighborhood and other customers in the rooms next to us have been very quiet and pleasant. The mall and good food are within walking distance. Fresh muffins were left in our room today, which was a nice surprise - they were delicious! Free unlimited wi-fi. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice comfy rooms with plenty of space. Close to shopping centre and airport. Easy to find even at night. Was a nice touch to get some complimentary baking both days we were there. Also the people were very helpful
