Don’t be fooled by the name, this is no resort just a collection of old overpriced dodgy caravan park cabins. We stayed in a so-called deluxe studio lower floor, had a musky smell that never left, dirty cupboards, dirty plates and utensils, mouldy shower, poor repairs with masking tape used in several places, security door fell off when my wife gently closed it, wifi was rubbish, and no designated car park. We were woken up at 4 am each morning by people upstairs just simply walking around getting ready. But the best part was being told on check-in that there was a triathlon on Sunday being the day we were checking out. Given a grand choice of getting up before 5 am to move our car out to some random street or paying $20 for a late check-in and hanging around until midday. What a joke, it would have been fantastic to know this before check-in, emails, text messages and phone calls work really well these days. So a relaxing weekend away was staying in a smelly, dirty unit, being woken up at 4 am each morning because these boxes are poorly designed and constructed. and then having to pack our car the night before so we could get up at 4:30 to move it out to some street to prevent being locked in. I wish I had just booked a cheap motel nearby, at least we would have had a decent nights sleep and not have to worry about parking. Never again

I last stayed at this place 13 odd years ago. I was surprised to walk into the unit to find the decor was just as dated as it was 13 years ago. Im not tall but cant get under the shower, fridge makes an absolute racket, the neighbour in the room above was very noisy, the reception was closed most the time, vending machine only took cash (who uses cash nowadays?), room was darn expensive for being on a very noisy road, the toilet paper crumbled on use and took a whole roll and shower to get cleaned up, the extractor fan in the bathroom was conncted to the light switch and woke the neigbourhood up everytime the light was turned on, the communal laundry was backed up to the bedromm wall and I could hear every item in the dryer going round and round and especially at 11.30 pm when our neighbour decided to do their laundry. On a positive note my wife and I will never go back to this place ever again.

We stayed here because it was convenient and a reasonable price. That’s as good as it gets. The complex is full of what appears to be duplex double story apartments. Ours was ground floor and consisted of a single room containing a double bed, kitchenette with fridge and microwave and shower in the bathroom. It was reasonably comfortable though. In our room the fridge appears to be possessed. At odd times during the night it made mechanical noises akin to the sounds made by someone trying to break in. Most disturbing until we figured out what it was. Parking is a challenge, there’s not a lot of it. Some of these units appear to be owner occupied. We returned to find a hand written note on our car, presumably from a resident. As far as I could work out our parking was not in contravention of local conditions, so do not know what we’d done to deserve a cryptic note. Another weird situation that sullied our potential enjoyment of the resort. Our stay could’ve been nice and relaxing. Sadly in the end it wasn’t and I doubt we’ll come back.

The price was not bad for budget level accommodation. The place could do with some maintenance being done to tidy some of the ageing finishes. It Is a 30min walk to the shops although there is a ferry that departs from a nearby jetty. The management claim there is visitor parking for guests but this seems to be mostly used by the more permanent residents. There are pools but have not seen them used by many guests or residents. In an unserviced room there are no spare rubbish bags nor simple facilities like a toaster. Overall below expectations, I think you could get better options closer to the shopping strips and attractions.

We stayed in a bottom level studio apartment - no 551 PROS Clean; Manager very helpful; comfortable bed CONS Noise; Noise and More Noise! Air conditioning split systems is mounted underneath the area where the bed is...there would be no way you would sleep when it clicks in, the floor was literally vibrating...luckily it was a winter stay! Other air conditioning systems were also noticed as being loud! There is one access door to take you to the bottom or top floor apartment...doors were slammed constantly! There is little to no soundproofing between the bottom and top apartments and the permanent tenants above us did nothing but thump around; slam cupboard doors; scrap balcony furniture around and open and close the sliding door a million times! There is very little storage e.g. no drawers in the beside tables nor in the cupboard, there was only availability to hang clothes. The icing on the cake was the last day of our stay when we were woken at 3.30am by the tenants above thumping around continually till we decided at 5am to pack up and leave as there was no point trying to get any rest. It may have pretty pics but unless you get a top floor apartment I wouldn't bother. To be honest it was like staying in high density housing not a holiday apartment! We have returned home tired, drained and disappointed with the accommodation choice.
