Stayed first in February when we incorporated it into a Cape Reinga trip and was sufficiently impressed to repeat the trip this week. Well sited just above wharf, opposite shop(s) and restaurant, the property also appears to go right to the cliff edge, offering great views over and down the harbour. Basic but comfortable unit with a nice feeling and everything we needed at what I regard as a very reasonable price. Helpful staff.

We stopped overnight here after a trip out to Cape Reinga. I was expecting a sleepy small village, so was surprised at how many properties and boats there were. The motel was an older style but spotless and in particular shiny stainless steel in sink and shower base. Friendly welcome and great advice for dinner. We enjoyed an authentic Indian curry and quiet comfortable night. Outstanding view!

Stayed overnight on my way up to see the Cape. Fabulous place, room was spotless and so comfortable. It was outstanding. The view of the water and harbour from the grounds was just beautiful. Pool looked so inviting and tons of space to dine al fresco on the lawn or the tables. Great restaurant and bar and four square across the road. Perfect.

Clean, tidy and practical the accomodation is perfectly placed to break your trip to the top or as a base to explore the beautiful beaches and giant sand dunes. The room with TV, fridge and microwave was great. The property perched above the wharf has a swimming pool and a large open grassed area that catch’s the sun. If you are staying, across the road you will find the 4 Square and the Pukenui Paradise bar and restaurant.

An older style motel but exceptionally clean, freshly renovated. Host gave us the rundown of all food options before walking us to our room. A generous check-in time of 130pm. No real negatives other than the shower which had no pressure at all and the 1970s decor. Definitely would stay again.
