We have camped in the Outback of Australia in all it's primitiveness so we were looking forward to the extreme luxury of Glamping at Ridge Top Farm. And all our expectations of the facilities were well and truely realised. The large comfortable Yurt. The excellent lounge/kitchen/bathroom space, the sheltered hillside with dual hot tub. Needed longer to fully unwind. The weather gave us a true experience alternating from really hot, no wind, beautiful sunset one day, to drizzle, cold, windy the next. The fireplace got a really good workout in the middle of January. We self catered, however host catering is also available. The only negative is for those who are light sleepers. Yurts can flap around in the wind generating noise. If this is a problem, I suggest you sleep in the cabin instead of the Yurt when the wind gets up. We loved it and will absolutely return. We may even bring friends next time.

We spent a couple of nights here enjoying the expansive views down to Kapiti Island. Lit the fire in the tent at night. Great views from the twin outdoor bathtubs. We also did the 9km farm walk which we enjoyed. The food was great and Sarah a lovely welcoming host. Great that you’re the only ones there.

Nice scenic drive to Ridge Top and what a hidden gem up there. The tent and the little cottage with very comfy beds, while the kitchen has everything to cook a decent meal. Just enjoyed having the family together, experiencing the beauty and tranquility around the camp.

Sarah is a very lovely host to deal with, she emailed days before to check our dietary requirement and make sure even the children are covered so non-spicy food provided for them. The meals were simply delicious, and the pavlova is also very remarkable. Knowing how much our kids love playing with the dogs, Sarah let us exposed to their sheepdogs which is indeed fun for our girls. Highly recommended

We did not know what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised! What a great way to do some camping!
Location is somewhere in the outskirts, gravel road, cattle, with a great view and nothing but crickets, sheep, cow and birds around.
Recommended for anyone who wants to have a quiet night out literally away from the busy crowds of the city.

If you want to have a quality family time but tired of crammed holiday park, this is the one you should choose for your holiday. Perfect for family with little kids as all the facilities are set up exclusively for you to use not anyone else. The site has a amazing view, and luxury wooden frame tent is already set up for you with comfy bed inside. You can always light up the wood stove inside the tent to warm it up. The kitchen area is inside roofed pergola with outdoor blind attached to covers you from rain and wind in case of dodgy weather, and hot water is available all the time if you need to take a shower. Moreover, you are free to do camp fire with marshmallow while watching beautiful stars at night sky. Our kids loved a chicken coop and our friendly host Sarah lets our kids to experience farm animal feeding. Definitely recommended for great family escape!

We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived at the farm. After being personally escorted down to the beautifully remote glampsite, we were thoroughly orientated to facilities which were very clean and elegantly designed making the glampsite unique. Having the separate structures for the bedrooms and kitchen brought indoor comforts into the outdoor setting making the camping experience cottage-like suitable for all types of people. The site was well stocked with equipment for cooking and blankets for keeping warm. There is also an added twist to the outdoor experience with an open air bath area overlooking the fantastic view. Sunset was incredible which was only underwhelmed by the starlit sky glittering brightly due to the lack of light pollution. There was never a dull moment as they had added fun and games available such as boules and gentle walks across the farm. A well worth it glamping experience for those who want to have the comforts of the indoors whilst camping.

I visited for a weekend with four friends and we were really impressed with the set up. The tent itself was completely adorable, and the kitchen/dining area had everything we could possibly need. It was slightly chilly at night - but that's to be expected camping in the middle of winter! Loved the outdoor baths, and claybird shooting with Angus was a lot of fun - he was as very patient teacher for us novices! The views were gorgeous and I still can't get over how nice it was to be completely away from noise/light pollution in the city and just enjoy the sounds of the country and the wide open skies - especially at night, the stars were just incredible. Will recommend to anyone and hope to visit again in the warmer months. Thanks for the great hospitality.

Sarah & Gilby are amazing hosts at Ridge Top Glamping. We recently had a team building session out on their property where we tried our hand at shearing, drafting, golf and claybird shooting. On top of the amazing activity selection (even supported by their friendly neighbours) the home cooked catering was fabulous. There was definitely more food then all our bellies could handle! Some of us have booked time in the future to experience the true glamping experience on offer at Ridge Top farm but even for a day out of the office, with an amazing view, amazing facilities and great hosts - this is the place to go! Next time I am defintely staying just so I can try out the outdoor bath and the new fireplace installed!

Our family of four- my husband and I, my 3 1/2 year old daughter and 9 month old son at the time visited this amazing destination in February. This was the highlight of our New Zealand trip!!! The accommodations are beautiful- the decor, cleanliness, location...the facilities are basically brand new. We were so pleased with every aspect of our stay. Highlights...the outdoor bath tubs (my daughter still talks about them to this day), the authentic NZ farm stay, Sarah, Angus and their adorable children, the main tent (and the bell tent), the food!!!! and the scenery. I really recommend choosing the prepared meal option. Sarah is an amazing cook and it was really part of the experience. I don't think we have ever ate so well!!! We stayed at Ridge Top for 3 nights. I was worried that we might not have anything to do. However, I think we could have stayed an extra night. We did the sheep sheering, visited the most beautiful gardens about a 30 min drive away, fed the farm animals, made a camp fire, and most importantly took a step back, relaxed, and enjoyed our time as a family together. This really is a perfect destination for a family. If you have the opportunity I would highly recommend visiting Ridge Top Farms!
