We just stayed in one of the two Penthouses over the New Year - so much space it's a bit like living in a big house. The property is situated close to Kawana Surf Club/RSL & the local shopping centre - there are also plenty of restaurants, the cinema and eateries in walking distance. The new management (Julie & Simon) are pretty switched on and are making lots of little improvements that are aimed at spoiling guests. Amazing views of the Sunshine Coast from Kings Beach to Coolum. Family vacation with kids this is your perfect resort. The location means you can park the car and walk or ride bike to restaurants, cinemas, surf club (delicious food), beach and up the road is the beautiful view from Point Cartwright. We will definitely stay again and recommend the resort to family and friends.

We stayed for three nights in January ,they only had the downstairs courtyard hot tub apartment available.we would have preferred a view. When we got there it was raining ,there was a cane couch with large think foam cushioning ,getting wet . We went inside ,so dark you could hardly see ,it was an older style .low ceilings and nice big rooms .two bathrooms and kitchen . The furniture was completely outdated and needed replacing . I sat on the couch which had an ingrained smell ,with really old scatter cushions ,that didn’t match and were smelly ,we put them outside the whole time . Then I sponged the couch down ,and aired it …we ended up buying upholstery cleaner to clean it / get the smell out . The sheer curtains were not shear because of the mildew . The air conditioner smelt mostly so we didn’t use it . There was mould on the roof in the second bedroom . The bed had a blanket ( wool type) I don’t think this would be washed between guests ,Covid ! Not that I know that. The fridge had a really bad smell as well. The empty shampoo was still in the shower . It was dark and dingy n even when the sun was out . When I left I spoke to someone about this .They explained how they were individually owned and the owner it was up to the owner to fix them . Very hard for them . This apartment should not be rented ,and at least you should be warned and it should be much less than $245 a night . We have now moved to Surfside a few hundred mtre away ,on the beach ,three bedroom with views and it great condition .same price for 2 bedroom . I’m sure lots of the apartments are fantastic ,we got the bad one .

It’s disappointing to receive such a review and feel some of your remarks are unfounded. This review does not reflect our 4/5 star average. We have high cleaning standards and the couch in this apartment was professionally cleaned along with the cushions and carpets less than 4 weeks ago. It is one of our more original apartments but the only one with its own exclusive spa which I don’t believe you benefited using as it was raining. Thank you anyway for staying with us and in the future with more notice I’m sure you will find we can offer fully renovated apartments with an unobstructed sea view from bedroom and lounge along with heated pool, full size tennis court and on-site tennis court all of which Surfside or any other accommodation provider in Buddina/ Kawana can NOT provide.

Managed to book a last minute 2 nights away for school holidays.
3 bedroom. Level 3. Reasonable price Large room. Ocean view. Whole kitchen which was great to eat in some nights. We had fridge issues but it was half solved fairly fast. Pool is heated. Spa.sauna. gym. Park, Beach and Surf club across the road. Supermarket and speciality shops 4 mins walk. Staff were lovely. Older building but perfect size and price.i will definitely revisit this resort.

Nice little resort, opposite the Kawana Surf Club (a nice little club, well with the visit) and patrolled beach. Friendly and efficient staff on the reception desk. Apartments are clean, comfortable and spacious. Nice pool. Has a gym, tennis court, and a sauna (which I did not use). Secure under cover parking. Only one lift which was no big issue being a small resort.

When I had to stay at the Sunshine Coast due to a family emergency I could not have asked for better people to help me at this time of crisis. Julie and Leah went out of their way to make sure I could move into the room as quickly and as efficiently as I could before I had to head to the nearby hospital. It looks (by the previous photos) that Julie and her partner have revitalised the units as they were much brighter than the photos on TripAdvisor. Julie and her partner have really thought about the age demographic with which they are dealing. They even have a spare wheelchair to use to take the infirm out to dinner, or for a walk around the area. Now, that’s thoughtful. A medium sized UHT was given to me as a starter and I couldn’t believe that there was more than one toilet roll provided. Usually one is provided and then you have to buy your own, but there was one on the roll and two to replenish. Having travelled frequently, I find that this rarely happens. The rooms were of good size, with the main bedroom quite large and the en-suite looked like it had been newly renovated. In the kitchen I had everything I needed to make myself meals. There were plenty of pots and pans to use as well as new looking cooking utensils. The amenities were quite outstanding for a smallish resort, with quite a large pool, gym, sauna and tennis court. It was close to a shopping centre and right opposite the Surf Club which I definitely recommend going there for the steaks. I can’t thank Julie and Simon for all of their help and attention whilst I stayed there. Seeing they haven’t been the managers for long, I wish them well in revitalising this resort and thank them for all that they did for me.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 months in early 2013. It was fantastic and the owners / managers (who live on site) were very accommodating and flexible with getting us in. We ended up staying the entire time at a very reasonable weekly rate. Within minutes of the Kawana beach, this is a prime location for us and we like to stop by and see our old place and say hi whenever we are around! Great facilities with tennis court, bbq, pool, and parking. Perfect for walking to get your groceries just a couple blocks away at the amazing Kawana shopping world.
Great place to have peace and quiet along with the friendly morning chat in the lobby.

I perused the prices online for Beachside Resort over several days, and a group of friends and I decided to book. We received our booking confirmation that stated in big letters that our booking was confirmed.
All great, UNTIL we receive a phone call from the rather owner saying that his own website pricing was a mistake, and that he wouldn't honour the booking. So, moral of the story, you may get the price they advertise, or they may phone you and say it was a mistake and the advertised price 'shouldn't have been there'! Not very professional, in my opinion. And to add insult to injury - they were happy to book us in for a much more expensive apartment. Not impressed - this has never happened to me in all my years of travelling. Is the hotel any good? Who knows! I'll never be going.

Unfortunately the author of this review is using Tripadvisor to tarnish our reputation. They admit they have not stayed at our hotel. They made a booking for our peak time at a rate which was incorrectly displayed on our website. We immediately contacted them to advise of the error. We contacted Fair Trading to seek advice and immediately corrected the error. We provided a written apology and also apologised on our website. The author was quite aware the rates showing were too good to be true. We did not try and offer them a higher rate but they could see normal rates as displayed. Would hope Tripadvisor removes this very unfair review.

I would have liked to have rated this hotel as 'good', but Tripadvisor does not offer that. The hotel was fairly modern with us staying in a one bedroom apartment on the 3 rd floor. Unfortunately no sea view as this can only be seen on the higher levels. Having said that the road was not too noisy so sitting out on the balcony was pleasant. The bed was very comfortable and the lounge area was a good size. The kitchen we felt needed a good clean. The location is excellent with the Surf Club across the road as well as the beach. Behind is the shopping centre too! I would recommend this hotel if you just wanted to park your car and enjoy the area on foot as there is a also a lot of restaurants nearby.
