Please, please check before booking, the pictures are false representation. The main pool is closed and now green in colour and taped off. The slide is not in use and one of the pools is for owner use only. The last time we visited the restaurant was boarded up and gardens overgrown. Apartments still clean and tidy, but when you have one holiday a year it would be very disappointing to arrive to this. I have made complaints about this before, but still using the same pictures. We had many lovely holidays here and this is very sad that it has come to this. Please check before you book.

I came here every summer for 3 weeks growing up, and also my grandparents had a time share and would go regularly. What an amazing place it is. Clean, 6 pools, a slide and bar/entertained. What fantastic memories I have of this place. I'll be taking my children soon.

We love La Orquidea. We have owned a timeshare here for over 20 years sadly this is the last as an owner. Yes the apartments have seen better days but the location high above Calahond afford excellert views of the Med. The area around the "kidney pool" is a little slice of paradise. Thank you Flavio, Christina and the rest of the amazing staff that have made our stays the most memorable of times.

After a visit we were so surpriced on the care and attention to the authentic Italian service. Always with a smile and a level of accomondation that you only find in Italy. Loved the place, and it was especially handy during lunch time with the kids, and the pools connected to the resort. Just brilliant for keeping the kids active during a hot day and long lunch.

The complex was really nice with all the swimmimng pools which were spotless but the location was terrible, very noisy at night and if your not fit, good job we were, as its half way up a mountain with no transport only shanks pony or taxi. You need a car if you are staying here as there are no shops nearby. On arrival in Malaga we were supposed to have two taxi's waiting for us at the airport, which did not turn up, on contacting the receptionist at the complex she told us they were on their way an hour later and after another phone call we decided to get a taxi ourselves which cost us 80 euro's in all. When we got to the complex the receptionist was very rude and argumentative with no apology at all. The only restaurant was italian, which was really nice and the food fab and if it wasnt for Alex and Vito being so helpful we would probably looked for another hotel,. You have to walk halfway down the hill which takes about 20 mins and its a hard slog walking back up. They do not tell you this when you book. If you are not a fit person I would not recommend this hotel unless you want to stay on the complex for the duration of your holiday. If you are fit and like hill walking then it would be ideal, but sorry not for me or my family.

We have stayed at this resort a no of times, and although clean and tidy, and beautiful surroundings some of the apartments could do with a bit of updating(sun umbrella broken, no A/C) We also found that there was no English TV, even though the welcome pack states that you can re-tune to receive, on asking about this we were told that the resort had decided not to take out the subscription this year. We also experienced the problem with one of the residents that believed one of the pools were the property of the residents, however this was soon found to be incorrect and we were able to use the pool and slide after a lot of discussion!!! The guys in the restaurant were extremely helpful, and the food was lovely, we ate there most days. Although we had a few hiccups we still enjoyed our holiday, but would hope they will look at investing a bit of money and getting it back on track.

Just spent a week here with my two kids. Staff at the bar (Alex & Vito) can't do enough for you and are very friendly. Food at the bar is wide ranging and can be cheap or a little expensive. Everything cooked fresh. Alex & Vito will organise taxis for you, which you need to get about if you don't have a car. You can walk down the hill to the supermarket but in the heat it's a bit much. Can get a bit noisy around the pool when the kids get rowdy but that's par for the course when you have kids. Apartment we stayed in was clean, spacious and had a lovely view of the ocean but it was privately owned. However, I was reliably informed the holiday lets were the same with many people returning year after year. I would recommend a holiday at this complex.

Just returned with my wife and 2 kids from a relaxing week here. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend this place. We stayed in a penthouse which was very spacious and had fantastic views, well worth walking the 68 stairs ! Shame there's no A/C but we knew that before we booked so cant complain, we were able to hire additional fans which were worth the cost. The whole resort is very clean and maintained daily. There is an Italian restaurant/bar on the complex with friendly staff, food not bad but to be honest there is a far nicer and slightly cheaper one 10 minutes walk up the hill. The complex is a mix of rentals and privately owned and one of the owners in particular seems to have a bee in her bonnet about visitors use of sunbeds and certain pools, so much so that one day she childishley locked the gate to the kids pool while she went off to work, kids then climbed over the gate to get in because this was the gate to the pool with the slide. She eventually unlocked it around 6pm, she also locks sunbeds up to stop people using them, I would suggest that perhaps a mixed development like this is not suitable for people unwilling to share ....
